New Years Weather

Well it's official! Just booked our stay at BLT for the 28th of December to the 3rd of January. Out of curiosity what was the weather like last year at that time? My family and I were there two years ago before our Disney Dream New Years cruise and I remember it being awfully cold. Were people able to wear shorts this past year and just had to wear a light sweater in the morning and evening, or was it full on pants and jackets? (If it helps my family is from Rhode Island and that time of year are freezing) I know Florida isn't exactly sweltering heat that time of year but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a least a little warmth!

My DGF and I where there from Dec. 27 to 31, and the weather was mild during the day and cooler during the evening. We too hoped to have a much warmer weather but during December is basically a hit and miss. We wore pants for most of our trip.

I would recommend to be prepared for the eventuality of having some really warm weather since this winter was awfully cold compared to past years.

You could have a high of 84 or a high of 44 with lows in the 20's,you just have to wait until a couple of days out to find out.Those are the two extremes this time of year so more than likely the highs will be in the 60's-70's with lows in the 50's or upper 40's.

you wont know for sure untill about 3 days out. All you can go by is the averages.

We have been to WDW 3 times over new years. Twice it was upper 70's shorts all night weather. One time it was OMG its cold 40 degree ski coat weather.

Florida weather is affected by the gulf. do not believe any 10 day forecasts. they are just year over year averages.

Florida weather generally comes from west to east over the gulf. It changes by the day. No weatherman worth anything would stamp his name on a forecast longer than 3 days out.

In the summer, its worse as atlantic storms can come in and over power the gulf weather pattern.

in the winter, you have to pack for everything.

You really will not know until then! We were there from 12/30 to 1/3. One day is was 83 and sunny and then it was 40 and windy the next. I kinda packed for layers and that worked great!
