on another note...went for a wax today and my underarms are inflamed. must have been some funky wax or oil....new place, cheaper prices but not sure if it's worth the costs to my body.

I'm from Northern Virginia.

I read the message about the Disney boxes that were done last year....we should think of something for this one as well. We could also do something Secret Santa for the kids too. And since we have over a year to gather stuff it shouldn't be that much trouble.

Gotta go....my office has been 40ized. Stuff everywhere from coworkers. Guess they don't want me to forget it. Hubby says this morning how does it feel to be 40? I came back with "Just remember everytime you say I'm 40 that you are one year, one month, one day older than me and if you want to stay in your thirties then I will be 38."

i've never had any problems with waxing....but 2 mos. ago...decided that with what i was paying for waxing every few wks - i could go for laser removal and justify the cost with a year;s worth of waxing. So far so good!! loving it!!! going to Avanti Skin Care Center here in Gilroy...but of course SJ has sooo much to choose from - you should check it out!

Oh I think you can all imagine the story, just from what my dearie friend just told you!!!! okay spill the rest, it was really a funny reaction , dontcathink!

We're heading out to have bbque with Auntie and Uncle (and cousins) up from Pasadena for the party. Should make mom happy to have her sister-in-law and BIL here to celebrate with her. It's my dad's sister.

Here's what happened
Before our 2005 Christmas cruise, our Nan shared with us on our thread that she wanted some info/advice/suggestions/encouragement/personal experience stories about having a waxing done, a type of waxing that begins with a B and is named after a South American country. Some of us had advice for her, and we took it to PMs for privacy, because of it's, uh, delicate nature.

Then it's cruise day, and we're riding on the DCL bus to the port. It was me and my sons, Nan and her family, Grim and Dede, and our friends Lynn and Keith from the UK. We were all chatting away, having so much fun, snapping pics and being all excited as we approached the port. Then, there it was in the distance, the Magic! But the view kept being obscured by the trees on the highway. So Nan, very innocently, says, "don't these people in Florida cut their bushes?!" Well OMG, we all just about died laughing, since Nan was already associated with that, in a way . We must have carried on about "cutting bushes" a bit too much, because all of a sudden, a woman in the back of the bus calls out in a scolding voice, "there are children here!" (hence Grim's comment quoted above!)

We quieted down after that, but holy crap it was soooooooo funny! (And this was BEFORE we had any rum!) And Chad got the whole thing on tape!

It's a very funny and cute memory for us, because Nan innocently set herself up for hilarity with her comment. If someone else had said it, it wouldn't have meant anything, but the waxing, the bushes, well, you get it!!!!!!!!!!
