:D

....Thanks kimmar for the further update for me...I didn't notice it until today, sorry!

With the early entry back on, are there any suggestions out there on how to avoid the bigger crowds in mid-October? We'll be in the Wilderness Lodge half of our trip. Just guessing, we'd start out with an early entry and then go to another park? Hate to spend a lot of time moving between parks. How do you guys plan your days? : ) Thanks to all who have the time! Cherie

Does anyone know when they start putting up the Wilderness Lodge Christmas decorations - and when they are finished decorating? We will be there the week prior to Thanksgiving and I'm hoping we'll be able to see some of the decorations. Thanks!

(PS. - thanks for all the helpful hints on this thread. This trip will be our first time to stay at WL and I'm really excited).

Kimmar- the 6th floor does have rooms with enclosed balconies.
I stayed in Room 6005 and it did indeed and an enclsoed balcony. This room was in the north wing, courtyard view near the end of the hall.
It was a beautiful view of the pool, but you had to stand up to see it!

Just wanted to pass that along.

So you ARE a female! LOL
Thats what I think too!
So glad you are still w/ the WL- they would be losing a very valuable employee if you left.
Askmickey's integrity is safe w/ me! I think he's great (oh, and yes, I think "he's" male. LOL

See you 3 weeks from TODAY!!!!

999ghsts -- Thanks for clearing everything up! I'm happy to hear it was just an honest mistake. I'm even happier to hear you're still around!:)

Hi 999,
Thanks for the message ... I figured it was a case of mistaken identity, and I hope I didn't come across as down on askmickey. I've read other posts from him and he's been really generous in sharing his knowledge. Thanks to both of you ... have a good weekend! :D

Hello, everyone !
We are wondering which room we should request.
We would like to request a smoking optional room.

Does anyone who have stayed at a smoking optional room at WL,
could you tell me your room # and how the locations of were and smoke smell was in the room?

I know that there are a limited amount of smoking rooms on the 5th floor, but I am not sure which room is better.( view from the room , distance to the elevator, e.t.c.)

And one more question,
Does anyone know whether any smoking room has a bunk bed ?

Thanks.

We've got just under two weeks to go (YAY). We are trying to put together a packing list and was wondering if the WL rooms come with a hair dryer?

Also, can I fax a request down directly even though we booked through a travel agent> The receipt from the TA has a Disney Conf #.

Also, we booked courtyard and I was wondering what to request for more of a lake view to see the water pageant at night?

So glad to see some posts 999Ghosts!!!!!

Some have picked up the baton in your absence, but I now think I must have been in a fog during my stay last month because I can't even answer most of the ???

Trying every day to get back to WL 10/26-10/30 with my kids for our "unplanned" bargain airfare visit w/ DStepson in Orlando for a conference that weekend. You guys are soooo busy with CBR closing and MNNSHP.

Meanwhile, booked ourselves into POR so as not to break the budget and waiting for someone to cancel or not deposit their room.

Wondering also - do you think individual hotel managers at each property dictates how well guests are satisfied? I think positive trickles down to CM's... would you agree? Besides the majesty of WL and the boat to MK - why else are folks flocking to WL???

999ghsts,
Thank you for the reply.I really appreciate the info.:Pinkbounc

I am very glad that you appeared again here
and replied our questions.
I believe you are still at WL,
We hope that we could see you when we check in.
MY family is just thrilled to be staying at the Wilderness Lodge.
We really looking forward to visiting your Hotel from Japan.

Thanks again :)

Are the Courtyard/Lobby View rooms noisy? I'm concerned since there might be a lot of people walking from the lobby elevator past these rooms to get to the north wing.

plutospup - we didn't notice noise from people walking past, but you can here some noise from the lobby, it didn't bother us on the 5th floor though. the only thing that woke me up was the electric water pagent our first night we went to bed early and about 9:45 i heard a weird sound - once I realized what it was it was worth getting up for! the rooms on the Bear's face are great!:)

What a list! Personally, I'm a minimalist, and I won't bring 1/4 of that stuff!

Does anyone here actually bring panty hose, toilet paper, and an electric fry pan? They're all on the list!

...thanks for clarifying the 6th floor balcony "SITCH"....as you know, we stayed on the 6th floor, and, indeed it WAS an open balcony(with 6 rooms being used by our family and every balcony being open, I thought that ALL 6th floor balconies were open, too!)
Glad you are up and posting again: it seems that this thread has become a "venting" place rather that one with q-and-a specifically for WL, and THAT is the real reason why I started this thread. This was meant to be a place where folks could get some valuable tips and "insider info" to help them make a better decision whether WL is the place for them (or not), as well as a forum to those who wished to share their vacation memories at WL.....
Ok, I feel MUCH better; I'll get off my soapbox now:rolleyes: !

I've seen something similar in a Word doc form. We have a wedding to go to this week so all the bathroom items will be packed. If we don't notice anything missing over the two nights for the wedding, all bathroom items should be OK.

Hi All...I apologize for the mistaken identity of 999ghosts...We had a guest stay with us last week that was terminally ill, she came down to the Wilderness Lodge through the Compassion Program with her family....999ghosts (unknown to me) and I helped her coordinator with her room and Magic....When she checked in she asked for me and through tears gave me a gift and also a gift for 999ghosts....when I asked my fellow back office cast member who 999ghosts was ( to see that he got his gift), one cast member told me (obviously, in error) who he was...999ghosts and I have since written to each other in private and I believe that he is Not who I thought him to be....I apologize from the bottom of my heart if this caused any confusion or distain..My role of making magic is the most important thing to my guests...

Hi everybody,

It's getting close!! I have the clothes, baby bottles & formula, hats, & misc all laid up on the spare bed, getting them ready for the "final inspection" before ironing and packing them away in the suitcase! I always hope that I don't forget something, but you know how that goes... There's usually something that I wish I would have brought, but didn't. I actually have a recurring nightmare that we forget to bring our Annual Passes with us on our vacation! That's an indication that I'm a little nervous about this I think. Isn't that a shame? Why can't I have dreams that I remembered my passes, I've won the lottery and I get to stay in the biggest suite in the Grand Floridian, huh? I have to work on that. (Maybe in that dream I can throw in a part about losing 10 lbs & mysteriously growing 3 inches taller and everyone thinking I'm a gorgeous, famous model.)

Okay, I'm suddenly tired and I've talked myself into going to bed for tonight. Wish me sweet dreams,

Mimi ("Pepperidge")
