NEW version of Unoffical Guide...does it not include discount for Touring Plans?

Hi everyone,

I'm a little nervous about posting this because I'm not sure if other websites might be on the naughty list to discuss, however...

I am the proud owner of the brand-spankin-new Unofficial Guide to WDW. And, while i love the book I was hoping to check out the Touring Plans website and apps as a companion (since it's oft referrred to in the book). For some reason, I thought when you purchased the book, you could get access to some of the bonus content on the website and the apps. Did I dream this?

Or is there some sort of discount if you buy the book on the subscription?

I really want to "unlock" some of the exclusive information, but I don't have alot of extra dough to pay for a subscription that I'm not sure I will need. Yes, I realize it's only $12, but it's the principal. I bought the book thinking you could use the site...maybe I just wished it so?

I use a variety of free sites and feel pretty confident in their analysis and such. It just would be nice to get to check out touring plans.

Any thoughts? Have you ever subscribed to touring plans? What about their apps?

You're not wrong. It used to be in the past that you got free access. You would register for an account and then it would ask you for word #xyz on page N and word #abc on page D and then you got free access. They may have discontinued this though.

I just checked their site. It says there is a discount. You have to click the link. It doesn't say what the discount is though.

It's been a discount for at least a couple of years. I really don't remember it ever being a free add on and I buy TUG every year.

1) Yep, the web site was free if you bought the book.
2) Each year, they would pick a different page and word.
3) This way, you couldn't use last year's book for web access.
4) But, alas, like all things Disney, greed enters the picture.
5) Now, you pay for the book AND pay for access.
