New Vacation Package available - July 2nd for Nov 2024 onwards

This is how I feel. I already have my 3-day, 2-night attractions package with the FS passport at MiraCosta, which is what we wanted. I don't want to drop that package at the risk of booking something else. It sounds awesome, but I think we'll stick with the plan and make the best of it -- which is already pretty great!

I have read in several places that the unlimited pass is a bit of a gimmick, because by the time you do everything included in the other packages, plus eat and maybe see a parade or show, you really don't have time to be doing more. It's still enticing to me to just show up at any time to those rides, but I am starting to think I shouldn't mess with my existing vacation package either. It seems like whenever I do that when traveling, something gets messed up.

I always get anxiety about Disney bookings in general (D23, DVC), and since I'm managing TDR for my friends, it's amped to the extreme lol. Thankful for what I got, it's done and paid, and I'm gonna sit on it haha.

Me too. I think I am going to do the same. I keep looking at what I got and think it will fit my family's needs, which is really just to hit up the key rides that are significantly different or unique from Disneyland of WDW. A good chunk of those rides are covered by our package and I am sure I can grab passes in the app for the rest.

FWIW, I wanted to price the package out and spent 2.5 hrs in line, then another 1.5 hrs just trying to get to the checkout screen. I finally gave up after taking over an hour to choose the restaurants and then being unable to get past the golden spinning wheel of death to checkout. I logged on at 10:43 PST (17 min before sale) and gave up just before 3 am.

I would love unlimited attractions, but at this point I’m just happy to have a vacation package, period. I have friends who accessed the website early enough that FS and MC were still available, but were unable to complete their transactions due to website failures and were kicked back to the end of line, as described above. Very frustrating.

5person calendar available dec less than regular one.png5person calendar available dec higher avail than more one.png

These were availability for 5 persons for Dec this morning for both theEVEN MORE and regular attractions. Both are 2n packages and interestingly pull from two different buckets where the attractions has more availability.

--has anyone confirmed that the EVEN MORE are simply reservations and not INCLUDED in the pricing vs included? I never got around to see clear documentation of that.

Well, I finally booked a package - not the unlimited ride one I wanted, but one that will work just fine with the room we wanted in the Disneyland Hotel.

My adventure started at midnight my time and ended at 10 the next morning, with 2 hours of sleep in there. It's absolutely ridiculous that I spend so much time, and could probably get the same package in a day or two if I waited, since it's not one of the hot ones, but this is a bucket list trip for my young-adult daughter who is recovering from cancer and it was worth ensuring she got to stay in the Alice room that she wanted so badly. I ended up getting the three day package, even though we might not use that third day, since it was worth having the room guaranteed for two nights and only needing to find a room for the night before the package starts instead of at the end too.

Some things I learned that might help others:
  1. It is critical that you log into your account as your first step. Otherwise, you get all the way through booking your package, room, restaurants, and rides, and then it just freezes for hours and never goes through. This means you want to lick on the "login" button on the first landing page before you get to the waiting room, so that once you load out of the waiting room, the first thing you do is log in. If you do that, you won't get stuck after picking everything. This happened to me twice before I googled it and found this tip, which worked.
  2. Be patient. It is so darn slow, particularly when picking restaurants and rides. The screen that loads to pick them is blank for ages. If you mess with things though, it will kick you back to the waiting room.
  3. If you get an error screen that has a "return to previous page" link, use that link. Don't refresh or you will start again. It may pop up a couple times in a row, be patient and keep trying.
  4. Know that no matter what you do, at any point in the process, it may error out and you have to start over. It's beyond maddening, but persistence finally paid off for me.
  5. I was finally successful on a chrome browser running on a PC, for whatever that is worth.
  6. My Delta Amex worked on the first time, after taking me to a screen where I had to enter a verification code, which I thought for sure would kill my session again, but did not. I did call Amex yesterday to explain what I would be charging and she did a couple of things on the account. I don't know if that was needed, but I figured it was worth the call.
  7. You can edit selections (rides and restaurants) after booking, but the price may change, in which case, they refund the full amount and recharge the new amount.
  8. Non-package dining reservations can't be added until 30 days out from the start of your stay.
My next step will be to watch for the unlimited ride package to open on the date I want. I suspect there will be some cancelations at some point. But it's not a big deal if we don't get it. The bigger deal will be trying to add the same room type to the front of the reservation when they open in August.
Thanks for all the tips! I was just doing a practice run today but had the same issue due to not having logged in first. I tried again and logged in first and it went much smoother. All your other tips were also helpful. I priced out 3 parks/2 nights and was surprised that Miracosta and Fantasy Springs Hotel were the same price. Trying to see how much cheaper Disneyland Hotel would be but it keeps kicking me. Such a frustrating system!
an't find anything saying there is a penalty, but plan to do the same. The stuff that was left by the time I booked wasn't anything we would use.

If it's any help, our 2 night/3 day package in an Alice in Wonderland room, for four people, in December was 557,200 yen. This was the lower of the two packages - not the "more" version.

I thought nobody could top the bad US Disney I.T. experience, but the OLC takes the cake by a mile with one of the dumbest and error prone websites I have used since 1995. I had everything done except one last meal time to select. After 2.5 hours, it errored out and sent me back to an over hour line. On another browser, the date is now sold out. What a stupid system. It's time for Disney and OLC to invest is some servers that can handle traffic. I hate giving more money to these ridiculous companies that won't consider what it's like to lose a whole night of sleep to use a system that won't even work. What is the point of even having a virtual waiting room of if you still let your servers crash once someone is let through?

Have you done a D23 event? It’s about as bad.

We definitely had time to do other passes. We bought some and got some free ones, mostly to repeat stuff.

Ha - I have not done D23. The crazy thing is that after this year's fight to get passes, Visa kept offering to sell me some as a card benefit. They kept trying for weeks, so it looks like the purposely hold many of the passes back.

Good to hear you had plenty of time. It was your post awhile back that helped me understand what I needed to book. I'll keep an eye out for the unlimited pass to open and price it out, but I am pretty sure we are going to hit what we need with the regular one.

Edit: Does everyone get free 40th passes? Does that run all year?

Where do you log in? What's the link to the log in page?

Nvm it's the yellow button around the top!

Very loosely this is about $3500 USD. If you presume 2 nights hotel can be considered $1500 at an equivalent U.S. hotel, that leaves $2000 or $500 per person for 3 days of park access and FPs, right? It sounds pretty good. Not sure if anything comes with the package other than hotel, tickets, and FP access.

They said they would continue until further notice. I bet they will stay around though. They may get renamed. You can also hit something during Happy Entry, if you want to get to the park early.

It didn't seem unreasonable to me, but Disneyland and WDW have conditioned me to expect prices that make my eyeballs burn. It includes breakfasts, but they only had options in hotels left, and we don't want to trek it to hotels for breakfast. It also includes soda and other drinks liked ice coffee all days - you have a ticket you show to get them for free. Early entry (this varies based on the hotel). Access to Fantasy Springs and unlimited FP rides for those rides. One popcorn bucket. A couple of cheap souvenirs. I think that's about everything. For peace of mind, it was worth it to me. I don't want to go all the way and miss out on a few key rides, which I was able to pre-book. Plus, my daughter is the world's biggest Alice fan and is so excited. I didn't want to risk not getting that room. She had aggressive bone cancer and lost her leg last year (with three month scans for years to make sure it doesn't come back because it's so aggressive), so you can imagine that there isn't anything I wouldn't do to put a smile on her face right now.

I hope you have an amazing time— I’m sure your daughter realizes how lucky she is to have your love and support. For what it’s worth, Miracosta is really easy to get to from inside Disney Sea and their restaurants are pretty good.

My kids loved this apple soda drink at TDR that’s sort of like a hybrid of ginger ale and apple juice. It was better than I’m making it sound.

If you haven’t already buy the guide put together by the Tokyo Disney Explorer guy— it’s an easy read that helped us make better decisions.

I don't think it's a good value, that's for sure. Unlimited is a nice thought but if you only have a couple days, you're probably not going to do things more than once or twice. I didn't even get to everything in 3.5 park days with my fantasy springs VP. I had no trouble getting all the free passes and DPA I wanted since I utilized happy entry and walked in with my VP attraction tickets, and I never really spent any time waiting around for my next pass. There just simply isn't enough time in a day even with priority/premier access! DisneySea especially is so dang spread out :rotfl: And I only did QS so I wasn't wasting time at meals. I can see the appeal of the unlimited package but I probably wouldn't go that route unless you have a lot of money to throw around.

I would think of it like the old deluxe Disney dining plan that came with an appetizer, meal, and dessert. Does anyone need all that? Will you get your money's worth from a purely monetary standpoint? Probably not. But for some, the convenience itself holds value.

Now, if the package came with front of the line access for food/snacks/drinks in the parks, they might get me to consider...:rotfl2:

That’s actually an important tip for people who have never been— if you are using priority access (Tokyo’s version of LL) for most rides your food waits will be longer than your ride waits on average.

Solid advice! I just want to try alien mochi once, and get one mickey-shaped thing that's unique to TDR. Keeping my goals small haha.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful time! Totally worth it to make sure you can have the perfect room and hit all the highlights

It takes forever (at least 10 minutes each) for a restaurant time slot reservation to appear after I click "Click your selected restaurant". How do you get that to load quicker?

And I sometimes get "There has been a connection error" in red letters whenever the time slots is trying to load for the restaurants.

I don't think there is anything you can do to speed it up. It's faster during less busy times. It's why it's so frustrating to get nearly done with that and be thrown back in an hour wait.
