New to W.I.S.H. Anyone doing 30 day shred

I have had the DVD for a while and done it now and again, but never committed to doing it everyday. So no I am going to try to - and I am on level 1, day 5 (started Tuesday). I can almost get thru the regular pushups the first time, but onto the girly ones for the second go. But the whole thing seems to be getting easier each time. No wieght lost yet though (still eating leftover easter chocolate.....I've gotta get rid of that stuff)! I am trying to also do a cardio workout every other day too. I have got about 10 lbs. to lose.
Oh, last night I tried it to my own music and turned the volume all the way down on the dvd, and that made it more fun.:yay:

Ok just what the heck did I get myself into? Finally got the video today and lets just say I am no where near getting thru the warmup!! Seriously that just about knocked me on my rump. Then forgot the pushups...I started looking for an excuse to get away from the video so just when she started babling about not taking a break I thought great idea time to get water. Then I do those arm lifty thingies...with no weight so yeah those I felt i rocked. Got those jumping jacks down pat, but in all fairness I havent made it to the crunches. So yes Jillian I wimped out on you today. But I will be back on Monday to see if I can get more of a beatdown from ya!! Heres to losing 20 pounds in 30 days (course I dont see that happening). Wish me luck:cheer2:

i just started this yesterday and man was it hard today! i woke up knowing my whole body was just going to be a disaster! haha. it's even hard to sit down and get up again. i can't believe how much it has kicked my butt so far.

i figured that i should probably keep going with it almost every day, because otherwise it'll just be that much harder to restart again.

i've read some people's successes with this video on sparkpeople which is why i decided to give it a go.

i did day 3 as much as i didn't want to, i pushed myself to do it. i think that the pushups are getting a little easier, but man i still have a hard time with those side lunge and arm lift things. yuck.

Keep it up. You're doing great.

I did L1 D5. The pushups are getting much easier. I can keep up with them.:yay: I still am doing them the girlie way. :headache:I also did the treadmiil for 30 minutes before I started.

Glad to see so many of you keeping it up! Someone earlier asked if I had seen any results. I would say YES and NO. No because I don't really see any specific results in my body. I have been doing Weight Watchers for 16 months now and my weight loss has slowed down, so I can't go by that. I have NEVER measured myself anywhere, so I can't go by that. All of my clothes are already too big, so I can't go by that.

But I also said YES because after doing the shred fairly regularly for over 20 days, it is easier to do than it was at first.... especially the squats and lunges. I still totally struggle with the push-ups and even though the crunches are easier, they are still TOUGH. If things are getting easier, I MUST be building muscle, which I NEED to do. Up until now I have totally concentrating on fat burning/cardio exercise.

I will be doing the Shred tonight after things cool down. I didn't expect to get called to work this morning, so I didn't get my workout in this morning. I have already done a 30 minute walk, so if I do 20 minutes with Jillian I will only need 10 minutes (maybe a bike ride with DS) to get in my full hour today................P

Done level 1, Day 7.......those lunge arm lifts still tough....ouch, can't wait for level 2 though!:yay: I was thinking of trying to start running too in the mornings, after reading about that couch to 5 k thing, but i am so afraid i will not get very far and my neighbours will see me run out of breath and pass out on the sidewalk or I will look silly or something.....(I know people wouldn't really look, its not like I pay attention to who is running or walking by my house, but still....)
I'll stick to scary Jillian and my rec room for now.

that couch to 5k thing didn't work for me at all. i bought a heart rate monitor and i kept thinking i was going to die because my heart rate would get up to the 180's running at 4 mph, i would have to walk to get my heart rate to something below my max recommended rate. i didn't feel sick or anything, but i got so nervous i stopped doing it.

i'm sure my heart rate gets that high when i'm doing this video though too!

i hate those lunge arm things too and my push ups haven't gotten any easier yet. :sad2:

i finished day 4 today and some things are getting easier, but the strength exercises still hurt bad.

Well.... I was going to give Level 2 a try this morning, but when I got up, I just couldn't stomach the thought of it at 5:15am! So I did Level 1 again, but I REALLY pushed myself to work as hard as I possibly could at EVERYTHING. I still struggle with the push-ups. I can actually do 1-3 real push-ups, but I don't think that I am going down far enough.

For the side lunge/anterior raises, I managed to do the full set the first run through, but had to stop about 5 short (just the arms) on the second run through. Maybe I will go back to using soup cans for the second run through. And I still really feel like I am straining my neck on the crunches, especially those bicycle crunches at the end.

But for everything else I am doing "FULL ON NATALIE":rotfl:. My squats are getting all the way down, my forward lunges are nearly all the way down, my jumping jacks and jumprope are full energy, keeping up with the pace on the DVD.

Maybe I'll find the nerve to try Level two another day.... maybe during my pm workout.

Glad to see that so many of you are keeping up with it!.................P

I've been working with level 2 this week. There's a lot I have to do following Anita. But I really think I needed to change to level 2. I think I may see a little bit better number on the scale this week since I'm changing up the routine. It did kick my tail though!

Love, love, love, that there is a 30 day shred thread! Today will be day 2 on level 2 and I'm not looking forward to it:lmao: I did level 2 for the first time yesterday and I'm sore. I was having a hard time keeping up with the modified version. I'm determined to finish this thing off in 30 days! Only 18 more days!! (I'm doing 10 days at each level)

Oh, I'm also still walking 4 miles a day 6 days a week and doing weight watchers. Why is my scale not moving???

Yay! This is cool that there are a bunch of us doing this!
Well, mine is good news and bad news,
I skipped yesterday as I got home from work late and Idol was on - Bad
But I weighed myself for the first time and I am down 3 lbs - Good
I did L1 8th time this morning, and I can do it again tonight and be caught up - Good
I am having chicken fingers for supper - Bad
But the box says low fat - Good!
Just two more times doing L1 and on to L2 - Super Good!!

Way to go ladies!!! Well today is my first day on L1 (since my pathetic attempt over the weekend) and OMG how in the heck does anyone make it to L2? I am gonna alternate days cause its gonna kick my butt too much...might take me 2 months to do a 30 day :)
When will the scale show it??

i think i pulled a muscle near my bladder (if that's even possible :rotfl:) doing the ab work on the video. i'm going to have to sit the next couple of weeks out to see if my stomach gets any better.

Did level 2 for the third time today...hated every minute of it! Only 7 more days and onto level 3.

Today will be the last time for L1! Last night for some reason seemed extra tough; but now i am down 5 lbs since starting so that re-motivated me! Soon I will be a L1 graduate - yipee! Then onto the new and exciting world of L2...........:thumbsup2
We can do it! :yay:
