New to W.I.S.H. Anyone doing 30 day shred

I've lost 4.3 lbs!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am going to measure my inches since I started. I'm so excited.:banana:

ETA

I have lost 4 inches. I didn't measure my chest when I started. I measured arms, waist, hips and legs. My arms have stayed the same but everything else has gone down. I have 6 more lbs to go.

Wow great job ladies losing weight! I'm just about to start day 4 of level 2. I still have not lost ANY weight! I've lost about an inch total in my hips and waist. I'm really getting frustrated but am trying to stick to it. I have stayed on my points and am doing extra cardio. UGGG!

Don't get discouraged! I heard for some people it doesn't happen right away; my friend did not see any weight loss until the end of L2....so I guess it is different for everyone.:thumbsup2

Done my last L1! It was easier than most times, but I thinked it helped knowing that it was the last time I have to do those awful lunge lifts for a while (I hope!) but I am sure there is another type of torture in store in L2 that I will grow to love just as much.
Level 1 graduate:cheer2:

have that dvd lying around here somewhere (along with a ton of others) I just cant seem to get myself to do any of the dvd work outs....and yet I keep buying them :lmao:

I wasn't doing any cardio or fitness routine before I started Shred. I broke my foot over the winter and put on 10 lbs. I think that might have something to do with it.

You are doing great. Keep it up!:thumbsup2

Just started this this week but until last night I didn't have hand weights so I was doing the motions.

I bought the 5 lb hand weights and worked out with them last night... DARN that was harder LOL.. I was even more drenched :goodvibes

I am not up to 100% in L1 but will keep it up until I am..

There is one thing I am confused about that I am sure you can help me with. I am eating 1300 calories a day. The shred is 200 calories off for 20 minutes so am I suppose to eat 1300 on non-shred days to? This for some reason I just can't get my head around. I just am not sure what to do with those burned calories in relationship to my total calories on my shred days versus rest days

I started Level 2 today and it TOTALLY KICKED MY A**!! Holy COW! I thought I was ready for it after 20+ days of doing level 1, but I was SO wrong.

It started off well... warm up and circuit one I did well with and thought that I would breeze through it. By the time we were on the cardio section of circuit 2 I was huffing and puffing. And I had to keep stopping during circuit three to catch my breath. I did finish the workout, but I was DYING and SWEATING like a pig! I am SO not looking forward to tomorrow. Someone I know who is in good shape said that she found level 2 to be harder than level 3. Anyone find this to be true?................P

Well..... I'm no pro, but here is my take on it. In order to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you take in. If you are maintaining your weight when you take in 1300 calories, then in order to lose weight you need to either eat less or burn more or both. If you are LOSING weight at 1300 calories, then adding calorie burning will either boost your weight loss or possibly put you at a plateau, if you are not eating ENOUGH.

On Weight Watchers you are kind of "expected" to do at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day. After that 30 minutes you earn "activity points" for each additional 30 minutes (if I remember correctly). The activity points earns you more food (if you choose to eat it).

I would say... if you are JUST doing the 20 minute shred, I would stay at a "weight loss calorie level"... if you are doing much more exercise (like 30+ more minutes on top of the shred), then you could up your calories accordingly.

Clear as mud?? HTH...................P (BTW, how did you come up with the 1300 calories per day number?)

I just started level 3 this morning and I totally agree that level 2 was harder than level 3! I much prefer level 3 over 2. The cardio in particular in level 2 kicks my butt! I hate those jump and twist moves and squat thrusts! I enjoyed moving on to level 3 this morning, but I did modify level 3 with "girlie" pushups instead of regular ones.

I'm so glad to hear that! I finished day 6 of level 2 and its still kicking my booty. I dread doing 30 day shred but can feel the difference and am determined to make it through the 30 days.

My daughter gave me this DVD for my birthday 2 weeks ago, and I did level 1 for the first time yesterday. I am pretty good with the strength part - except for the push-ups. But I am surprised that 2 minutes of cardio is so exhausting!

I am confused: most experts say NOT to work the same muscles with weights two days in a row - yet many people do this DVD every day. I should probably do my cardio today and save day 2 of level 1 for tomorrow.

Yeah I'm pretty good with the strength and the abs, but I agree...who would think 2 minutes of cardio would be so tough! All that jumping really tires me out! I was getting a little bored doing the DVD everyday and my knees started to be a little achy with all the jumping, so I just started doing Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga with Bob in between my days of the shred and I really enjoy the yoga. It's a tough workout but also relaxing. Some ppl can do the shred everyday but I like to alternate because I get bored easy. I've heard that it is okay to do everyday because the weights aren't all that heavy during the workout.

OK - I did day 2 of level 1 after all, and I still had a hard time getting through 2 minutes of cardio each circuit! I may alternate a week of 30 Day Shred with a week of Jillian's No More Trouble Zones (40-minutes) plus cardio.

Just finished L2 day 4....tough! Ouch. Those V raise things, uggg..Did she really say "I want you to feel like you are going to die"?? I feel so bad but I feel so goooooood! Bring it on Jillian, I can take ya!

I started the 30 day shred yesterday. I am determined to stick with it five days a week the whole 30 days which will take me to within a few days of my next DL trip. It is a good reminder of how far I have to go in my journey to good health. I am still waiting to hear how all you folks who have been doing it for awhile have lost a bunch of weight . . . :thumbsup2

Just finished day 1 of level 3:cool1:

Ooohhh! Level 3! :worship: Is it really easier than level 2?

I am still slogging through level 1 but I can tell a difference. I think I will be ready for level 2 next week but there is no way I can do this DVD more than every other day -- and still carry on with my regular life that is! :rotfl:

I think Level 3 is definately more enjoyable than Level 2 - but my opinion might change after a few more times! And it does seem a bit easier than level 2 - I don't think I am dreading it as much anyways!:thumbsup2

I agree level 3 is much funner than level 2. I only have 4 more days and I'm finished with my 30 day challenge! I'll post the results on Monday. I plan on still doing 30 day shred but it will probably only be 5-6 days a week.
