New to this - BCV or BWV?

I have spent the last several days pouring over all of the info on several resorts and have a few questions that I hope you might be able to help me with! I would like to try to rent points to stay at either BWV or BCV next March for our anniversary. In reading other posts, I realized that we are just past the 11 month mark, so it seems that I need to make a decision soon. What are the chances of there being studio rooms available at either of these for mid-March 2007? It will just be the two of us, and from reading reviews and descriptions of both BWV and BCV, I think we would be very happy with either one! :) Which might be the best for a romantic and fun vacation?

(I even made DH watch an old VHS recording I had made a few years ago on The Travel Channels Great Hotels on The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! I still keep going back and forth :) )

Thanks for sharing your opinions!

First off I dont think you will have a problem getting mid-march right now.I personnally would consider the BWV because of the location to the boardwalk. Its a very easy walk to the bakery in the morning or to mgm and epcot. It has a very nice quiet pool and close to nite clubs.wHATEVER YOU DECIDE HAVE A GREAT TIME..

You will be happy at either resort. BWV is closer to the action....like bars, dancing, and other stuff. Also the above poster said it should not be a problem getting a studio for mid March...I kind of disagree. You may want to search out a rental now. March is the spring break month and is very busy...studios go first. Try to book now if you can.

I see it's your first post! Welcome to the World of Dis. :sunny: :goodvibes

BCV is not that far from the BW and right out the back door of Epcot.

If you want to use Stormalong Bay, you can only do that while staying at BCV. But if you want to be on top of the action and want a Boardwalk view or want to save some $ on points with a standard view, then BWV is the place for you. I'd act soon for the BW or SV rooms though.

Thanks! I have lurked here for a couple of years, but just now decided to post! I could usually find my answers through other's posts - there are so many it's overwhelming! :) Anyway, I thought I should start to join in the discussions instead of "eavesdropping" on everyone elses!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! :)

Disney's lowered the pool temperatures acrosss the board, so no need to try and fight your way into Stormalong bay.

For March, probably on the cold side anyway.

SO I'd probably go for the nightlife of BWV.

If you were bringing kids, I would say BCV because of Stormalong Bay...but our family spent 5 days at BWV in Jan/Feb and just LOVED it. It's my favorite resort now...and our kids liked that pool a bunch, too.

I really think you can't go wrong either way!

sans kidlets, definately BW (btw, we own at both). personally, i would try for a BW view (oh wait a min.....i did! ;) just DH & i are going in aug, BW view studio .........i'm dreaming of being curled up on a balcony chair drinking coffee, watching - & hearing - the "world" awakening :cloud9: )

We always stay at the Beach Club. (resort not villas, we are trying the villas for the first time in November) My children (22, 20, 15) won't even consider Boardwalk. I don't know why. IMHO, I would think either would be nice. The Beach Club is only a 5 minute walk from the Boardwalk and I think walking and boat ride times are about the same to Epcot and MGM. I don't think you could go wrong either way. Have a great trip.

We love them both, but have to give the edge to BWV. What really bugs us at BCV is how far from SAB, the boat dock, restaurants, store, etc the villas are located. Self parking is much more conveniemt at BCV but the free valet parking benefit for DVC members is essentially lost at BCV because the valet pick up/drop off is located in the main BC lobby, which is quite a walk from the BCV's.
But BCV's has use of the best pool on property--SAB. This is worth a lot to us. We try to book at least 1-2 trips per year at BCV, just for the use of SAB. That is how much we love that pool. The other 3-4 trips per year we are usually at BWV but do mix it up occasionally, with visits to the other DVC resorts.
Have a wonderful trip!

How about I throw another villa into your decision? SSR is a very nice and very new resort. It's right across the lagoon from DTD and easy walking distance to DTD. Congress Park has a great view of DTD, too. SSR has a wonderful spa onsite, plus a golf course if that is an interest to you.

Nothing against BWV or BCV (I own points at BCV), but SSR might be a little more romantic for the two of you.
