We are trading in our trip this October for a May trip next year so we can do a Star Wars weekend.

I don't know where to begin, or the right questions to ask. What should I learn? What should I know? We've been wanting to see this for a while but always go down in October or Dec. Excited for a change of pace!

Well do you like Star Wars?

Pretty much the parks slow that time of the year, except for DHS on the weekends. Highlights
o SW themed parade
o Character M&G exclusive to SWW
o Autograph signing from SW actors (both live, and voice from clone wars)
o various shows with the star wars actors
o Hyperspace Hoopla (a fun closing show)

note they discontinued Hyperspace Hoopla - last year 2013 was the final year..

look at the Star Wars Weekend threads for this year (I think there are 2 of them - both very long and informative) Main info can be found in the first few posts. We went for the first time this year and had a blast. Mainly thanks to that thread, Kenny the Pirate and Josh (easy wdw). I read all 3 multiple times and went down prepared. We were there the 1st weekend so some times had changed from the previous years but I knew what our priorities were, where all of the characters would be and had a good basic plan. We had a great time - DD and DH were asking if we could go again next year before the first day was over!

Our only adjustment in the planning was - I had planned to go to DHS (for SWW) each morning - staying into the afternoon on the 'slower days' (Friday and Sunday). The plan was to see as many characters as possible before it got really crowded. What I didn't realize was some characters (mainly from the Clone Wars but some others too) only started to come out in the afternoon. So on Sunday we did another park in the morning and visited DHS in the afternoon so we could get those characters. DD was dressed as a Jedi so I didn't want her to have to do a full day in costume (hot)

And, keep watching the Boards. Yulilin will start up the SWW Official Tips Thread sometime in October in anticipation of the SWW dates being released.
