Hi! My day to make ADR's is coming up on Friday, and I'd like to try the online system this time. When we went in August, I had to do it by phone. I was just wondering how the system "knows" that you can book 10 days in advance? Do I just log in and retrieve my resort reservation first? I don't want to get up an hour earlier than I'd need to for calling and not be able to figure it out  TIA!

On the page where you book a reservation, there is a spot to link your resort reservation. Once you do that, everything should be fine. Apparently you can only make 10 reservations at a time before having to "check out", so if you have more, you would have to do them in batches.

Thanks for the info! But I'm still not quite sure what to do....I booked over the phone so can I still do this? It seems to me that in August, when I also booked over the phone, it linked automatically? I also can't find the spot on the booking page to link it.

Yes, if you booked your package over the phone, you can still use online reservations. You will just need your reservation number. When you find the restaurant you want, you will click on the book online link on the right side of the screen. Once on that page, there is the online booking window, which goes as follows:

To make your reservation, please enter the requested information:
Update Your Profile
Are you an Annual Passholder and/or Florida Resident? If so, please update your profile so we can tailor your dining search.
Log In or Register
If you log in or register before you make your reservations, you can retrieve and view them later online.
Resort Guests & Dining Plan
If you have a Resort reservation or would like to use your Disney Dining Plan for this meal, please retrieve your reservation
This last link is where you need to click. It will ask for your reservation number, where you are staying, the name on the reservation, and the date of check in. You should be set from there.

Do you have to enter the booking info for each new ressie like you have to list the memebers of your party or do the ressie number CCnumber stay in the system? someone mentioned opening up new tabs for each place before 6am but then wouldnt you need to start over with ressie and cc number? I'm due to book on Monday so I rally want to have this down. Thanks

When linked with your resort ressie, the only thing that is carried over to dining (at least, the only thing we see ;)), is your name (or the primary name on the ressie) and the date range (for the 180+10 to work). The other members of the party and the party count are entered when searching availability. Not sure of the CC information, but that is normally entered on each ressie that needs it when adding to the cart.

You can then finish checking out from one of the windows once everything is added.

As far as the technical stuff behind it. Basically when you load the site, you start a "session". This session carries over when you log in and retrieve your resort ressie. This session (and this is the key) also carries between multiple tabs of the same browser window (sessions are tied to a few factors, and browser state is one of them) and this is the key to limiting search time (wouldn't be needed if Disney had a half-way decent search page to begin with, but I digress).
