We are new to DVC and we will be staying at Saratoga Springs March 15-20.
We were wondering if we should invest in the dining plan. There is two adults and a three year old? Is there any advice you can impart us with. This is the forst ime we are going wih a three year old. I know the nap thing is important midday... is there anything else you can share? Thanks in advance.
Peace,

I have never stayed at SSR so I can't help with any special requests there. But we have and always will use the DP. We enjoy the snacks and counter service meals as well as using it for character dining. But in your case if you don't see yourself having many sit down dinners or character meals you may want to forgo the DP. Nap.......well our kids always napped in the stroller. We figured that why should we leave a park midday for nap time.....I know many do but we enjoy walking the parks.

When we stayed at SSR last year we requested the Springs section but weren't placed there. The Springs is close to the main building, main pool, the restaurants (both CS and TS). We were placed in the Grandstand section and would request this section in the future. The building we were in was just as close to the main building area and this section has a nice "quiet pool" with a water play area that is great for little children (and not-so-little!) The Grandstand section is the first stop on just about all of the WDW bus runs (maybe not DTD). Either section is convenient. If you like to be close to the shops at DTD, Congress park is within walking distance and some villas in that section have a view of DTD. But this section is not as close to the main area. If you go on the DVC Member site they have maps of the resorts for you to look at the layout.

We've also used the DDP and find it a good fit for our family. You'd have to check the restaurant menus for the places you'd like to dine and see if what you'd order makes it worth your while. Depending on your families eating habits/preferences, it might be cheaper not to get it. For your 3 yr. old, the $10.99/day cost is worth it.

Enjoy your trip!
