Hello everyone

I just thought I would introduce myself and say hello. I can't believe my luck in finding these pages - they are a treasure trove of info!!

Myself (43), DH (44), DS (16) and DD (13) are off for our second visit to Orlando in 8 days time - woohoo :-)

My problem is that I guess I'm fast becoming addicted - I've already started planning our third trip for August 2009 (ssshhhh, keep it quiet, haven't told DH yet!!). I've soooo many qs but I'll save them for later posts.

Just wanted to say hi and share my excitement.

Hi Anne and welcome to the DIS. Feel free to ask lots of questions, you'll find there's a wealth of information here :)

Meanwhile, tell us more about your plans - 8 days to go, you must be really excited.

Hi and WELCOME :cheer2:

Hope you have a great time when you go - where are you staying and have you anything planned?

Hi Anne, welcome to the boards :wave2:

Our first trip to WDW was last year - we stayed at CBR (spent an obscene amount of money but ohhhhh soooo worth it!!!)

This year we are going on a budget - we are staying at the Holiday Inn on I-Drive - I have to be honest, I'm a little concerned as I've read some poor reports about the accommodation but we'll hardly be in our rooms, so I'm sure we'll be fine.

My plans are nowhere in the league of some that I have read on these boards but the rough game plan is as follows:

1 week in Disney parks (No ADRs, will save these for next year :-) )
1 day at KSC
3-4 days at US / IOA
2 days at Seaworld
& as much shopping as my 13 year old daughter can fit in - tee hee!!

The excitement is not quite fever pitch - but not far off it!!

Hi Anne+Welcome to the Dis boards. We are a really friendly, helpful bunch of people. They all made me feel very welcome when i joined.Fill us all in on where you're staying etc...x.

If you got your reports from Trip advisor please take them with a pinch of salt,as many on here will tell you the same.I always tend to find that it's the Americans that tend to leave less than perfect reports for the hotels(and i don't mean that in any way nasty).
I stayed at the Holiday Inn I-Drive back in 2004+enjoyed it,we had a tower room which was more spacious than the low floor blocks near the pool. They were starting to paint+refurb when we were there.Free shuttles to US/IOA/Seaworld and for a couple of $$ a shuttle to the WDW parks.Microwave, fridge, coffee maker,table+2 chairs,2 queen sized beds.Desk+swivel chair.Maid service everyday. You are central to all that I Drive has to offer. We love I Drive and always stay there.I would deffinatley return to this hotel.x.

Thanks for the info on Holiday Inn Michelle - that helps a lot :)

Yes, a lot of the reviews on Trip Advisor were a bit scary to say the least :scared1:

Anne, I second that - we stayed at the Holiday Inn on I-Drive in 2005. Although it's not CBR, it isn't a bad motel (it is motel-style, rather than hotel) - it was clean and in a great location on I-Drive. Please don't let tripadvisor (if that's where you read the reviews) put you off - for a start, the Americans are a lot more fussy than us Brits ;)

No problems-as i say it was back in 2004,i would be grateful for your opinion on it when you return,as everything changes.
I read on trip advisor when booking the Quality Inn as well and we still went, that was also a nice hotel-nothing like what others had said.Although we did ask to change rooms when we arrived-but that's another story. We probably would'nt return as they never laid on a shuttle for the WDW parks+it cost alot in $$ for the amount of days we wanted to visit them by using taxi's or Mears(we don't drive so no car).x.

welcome Anne, you must be so excited, not long to go

No probs - I'll take lots of pics of Holiday Inn and try to include them in a post  when we return.

We are not using a car this trip and chose this hotel for its central I-Drive location - we are also going to try to use the I-Trolley and Lynx buses to get around and keep costs down - so I'll let you know how we get on

We use the I Ride Trolley+it's great. You may already know but you can get multi day passes for them.Children 12 and under ride free when accompanied by a paying adult.12+over is a dollar,no change given-so exact money.Multi day passes work out..
One Day Pass: $3.00 per person
Three Day Pass: $5.00 per person
Five Day Pass: $7.00 per person
Seven Day Pass: $9.00 per person
Fourteen Day Pass: $16.00 per person
You can but these at some hotel desks,or most of the little shops along I Drive. They run from 8-10.30pm.
Also don't forget to pick up your map+coupon booklet on the trolley for discounts on restaurants along I Drive. You can also get these coupon books outside most of the shops+restaurants along I Drive.Sorry if you already knew this :goodvibes .x.

Hello Anne, and Welsome to the DIS:wizard: :wizard:
Happy planning and not long to go, hope you have a magical time, and you let us know about it on your return:banana:

Welcome to the boards! I'm quite new too and I've been made very welcome here and everyone has been very patient with my thousands of questions!

I have to say though, if you want to cure your Disney addiction you've come to the wrong place! I have to force myself to turn the laptop off sometimes!
