Some of this social media stuff is just hard to believe. I can't believe social media outlets like Tik Tok allow their platforms to be used to promote criminal violence...but I guess clicks are clicks. smh

Our local school boards here in South Florida have suffered significant vandalism damage from the last stunt, and now they have warned all teachers about this.

We just got a letter from the school. Part of the letter reads:

I am writing to ask for your assistance in being proactive of potential issues. Some of you may be aware of an ongoing TikTok challenge called ‘devious licks” that is encouraging students to engage in destructive and violent behavior at school. The challenge varies from month-to-month and has called for students to engage in behavior such as destroying school property, stealing school property, and assaulting staff members.

YDS says that last week someone pooped on the floor of the boys' restroom and STOLE A SINK. :(

Our local schools say they will "prosecute to the full extent of the law," LOL.

In our juvenile "justice" system, absolutely nothing will happen to any kid who slaps a teacher, and arresting them will just make them a hero on Tik Tok.

This is my town! What is with these kids? My parents would've killed me over these stunts.

My school in south Florida has been hit by the vandalism “trend.” They literally STOLE A SINK from the school across town. Don’t ask me how.

Sincerely hoping I don’t get slapped. I think that’d be the final nail in my teaching career…

The NISD here in San Antonio was with vandalism during the "devious licks" challenge. It's horrible. I wouldn't want to teach in this day and age.

I'm in Colorado and just got an email from the district about this. My youngest is a junior in HS.
Anyway, so crazy!!

My daughter's high school principal sends out at least 2 emails a week. Updates...sports, coffee with the principal, etc. He has mentioned these Tik Tok challenges. Thankfully nothing has occured at the school.

A permanent ban for the participant from Social Media might help.
Not. A. Chance.

This is the stuff social media thrives on!

Personally, I'd love to see school boards around the country start suing Tik Tok for the tens of thousands of dollars in damage they've suffered as a result of these BS "challenges."

YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter too.

Our local middle school sent out an email last night that the sheriff helped with. It outlined the charges that can be brought for each of the upcoming Tik Tok Challenges. It bluntly states that any students caught will face school and legal consequences. Now let's hope they follow through. They have to or they have no hope of getting this under control.
I don't know how they know the upcoming challenges or if they vary at all by regions but this is going to get worse. According to the email from the school and sheriff here are the upcoming challenges: November: Kiss your friends girlfriend at school; December: Deck the halls and show your *** (ahem, backside) in school halls; January: Jab a **** (female chest private area); February: mess up school signs; March: make a mess in the courtyard or cafeteria; April: grab some eggz; May: Ditch Day; June: Flip off the front office; July: Spray your neighbors fence.
I don't understand how Tik Tok hasn't been sued yet. Can't they be charged with inciting criminal acts? I think we are going to start seeing fights among the kids with November's challenge. And for the people that think this is just the school's problem-July will prove otherwise.

If you get assaulted by a kid, hit the parents where it hurts - sue 'em. Even if they don't have a dime, they'll lose a lot of work time for required court appearances and have all other kinds of legal hassles. Ambulance chasing attorneys can find all kinds of liability gotchas and ways to make their life utterly miserable. Publicly shame the kid everywhere you can across all social platforms - their friends may think they're cool, but many people won't and they'll get LOTS of hate messages - not a pleasant thing for anyone.

These aren't "children" - they're lowlifes and don't deserve kid gloves or special treatment. Sorry. Not sorry. Teachers are heroes to me. They shouldn't have to put up with this crap.

At the same middle school, they stole a urinal and took out some of the partitions around toilets. How the heck did they do that without anyone or cameras seeing them??? I also don't understand why the students aren't saying more about who is responsible. If I had to either 1. Go in a portapotty, 2. Haul across the entire school to go to the one open bathroom that is now watched, or 3. Had to do my private business out in the open because some idiot removed the partition-and I knew who did it-I would out that person in a heart beat.
