New Ticket Upgrade Policy?

My resort confirmation from WDW reservations for a package trip, shows that I got 2 vouchers for Mini Golf and 2 vouchers for Disney Quest. 2 people on our reservation. If they're still doing that, and you reserved a package, maybe you won't have to worry about purchasing DQ.

All packages come with 2 vouchers no matter how many people are on the reservation, but if they bought tickets elsewhere, they don't have a package booked which means no vouchers.

Again, I am sure Air Miles and Disney have some sort of contract that they (both Disney and Air Miles) have to honor.

And as I said, it won't ruin my trip, but Disney will get a lot less money from me.
I checked Air Miles' Terms and Conditions. They specify that "Age restrictions apply Downtown Disney Pleasure Island. Bring Passport or Driver's License." Looks like it hasn't been updated in quite a while. I'm just saying...

Disneyland knows. And considering what has happened when you get a cm who doesn't know to bridge, where they try to charge based on what you paid, wdw knows, too.

I'm not worried a out any of this. A guest relations cm said its not true. A dis'er upgraded to APs while keeping the discount, so the no-bridging cha be doesn't seem to be true.

Sites have gotten it wrong before.

I would want to ask UCT about this. As one responder here (and everyone who read her epic thread a few years back) UCT has contacts at wdw and cares a great deal about these issues. They would absolutely want to be I top of this and could clarify it on a more official level more easily than any of us.

Don't know about Disneyland as I haven't been there since the early 80s. I do know Disneyland tickets work differently period. But, anytime I've ever gone to do an upgrade and the CM didn't bridge, I was never charged the difference between what I paid and current gate price, but between what the reseller paid and current gate price. I just recently did an upgrade I. January since I decided to stick with our Thanksgiving trip this year, and the CM at GR was able had a big conversation in general. He could tell when Disney sold them, and at what cost, but not which reseller it was sold to (old tickets). We got into a lot of this (friendly conversation) because the tickets were sold to me as PH, but it turned out they were base tickets--a situation I'm still in the middle of trying to resolve.

Sites do get it wrong, but rarely All Ears. It's not a Mommy/Joe blogger website. I have made several inquiries, especially since a guest relations CM is saying it is not true. I'm still looking for a confirmation from another site/source, beyond the one guy here saying "it's true" but not offering more info than that, while I wait to hear back from any of those inquiries. This can have a massive affect on my Thanksgiving trip.

Since this hasn't shown up anywhere else. I assume someone at All Ears is having a joke on everyone.

I am subscribing to this thread, and I hope this is not true also. I purchased two 7 day MYW hoppers on Sunday from UT when the new prices were announced, and was thinking of upgrading to APs. We will see...

Oh no hope this doesn,t turn out to be true. :scared1: going to follow this site. we purchased some of our tickets from UT months ago because we are taking a big family trip for DD 's sweet 16 in august. In order to budget I was buying tickets as I come up with the cash for them. Anyway - I got 3 of the tickets as 7 day park hoppers because I had planned on leaving earlier on our depart day but when our airfare days were finally posted the latest evening flight home was significantly cheaper so now we have a whole day on last day. So I emailed UT about changing tickets & they said no problem & would wave the restock fee because we were ordering new 8 day from them (this was last week) the very next day we got a new email from them saying they couldn't take them back because they now carry the new chip tickets & don' t carry the old tickets anymore BUT that there was no problem with upgrading at the park! I had since gotten 2 more tickets but they are for the right days (8) since this was our new plan. I don't know what to do if I can't upgrade at park as a 1 day ticket for 3 people would cost me an extra $300 roughly. I have been buying from UT for years because of their policies & how reputable they are -I trust them. Hate to lose out on a whole day in park because of this & now some of my tickets are the 8 day hoppers so I will have wasted money on those ! Hope someone has more information on this.

What allears posted was in regard to tickets from the new Feb 23, 2014 price increase. I wouldn't worry in your situation. Also, if this is somehow true, there must be a ticket change for third party sellers. It can't be the same ticket, with different terms depending on where you bought it. That's just plain nuts.

Since this hasn't shown up anywhere else. I assume someone at All Ears is having a joke on everyone.

I read about it on Facebook from a trusted person in a private Disney group before it was posted here. She called Disney directly and they confirmed it. I don't know when allears posted it, but it was posted on Facebook 3 hours prior to this thread being started.

Enough with your negativity. Go pick on someone else.

As I stated, I have made many inquiries. Some of them have begun to reply (mostly the third party resellers) and all of them are telling me this is the first they have heard of it and will have definite answers from Disney tomorrow.

:confused3

No one is picking on you. They are trying to provide you with accurate information. A piece of paper from an outside agency will get you no where with Disney. The responsibility to make things right would be with the company selling the tickets. I would venture to guess that somewhere there is a "subject to change clause" somewhere in their fine print, just as Disney has has.

Or you can upgrade but you don't get the bridging. That's the way Universal Orlando does it. The bar code allows them to know where you got your ticket from and what you paid for it. You can still upgrade but you don't get any savings in doing so.

Which is, again, incredibly stupid. What would be the point of buying them anywhere else, period? I know I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to deal with that kind of crap from third party sellers. I'd just suck it up and pay through Disney, but it will again, cap how many times I can go and spend money there.

No one is picking on you, but if you expect Disney to adhere to a piece of paper printed from a website, you may be in for a surprise.

Terms and conditions are subject to change, and I am sure it says that somewhere in the fine print.

I'm not being "negative". I'm trying to help you (and others) prepare for the possibility that you may not be able to upgrade those tickets just because it says that you can do so in the outdated terms & conditions, on a non-Disney website. You can believe anything you want to believe.

This is awful! Now I don't know what to do. I leave for vacation next Sunday and planned on upgrading my 5 day to a 7 day ticket. They can't just change the rules after you already purchased your tickets! Does Undercover Tourist accept returns???

I believe that UT charges a restocking fee for returned tickets. It's 5% of the total cost of your order. You also would have to pay to ship those tickets back using a guaranteed type of delivery method (USPS Priority Mail with tracking, FedEx, UPS, etc.) It might not be worth it in the long run.

Let's all hope that it doesn't come to this.

I sent an email to customer service at undercover tourist. Never thought they'd answer so quickly....and on a day they are closed, but they did. She stated they've gotten many emails about this subject and intend to call Disney tomorrow morning and get some answers.

If this is correct info, I simply asked them how to go about exchanging my tickets for the number of days I actually want. They are still a decent discount below WDW prices. I was really only saving $14 a ticket buying the 4 day and upgrading at WDW over buying 7 day from them. But hey.....$14 is lunch and a snack! I'm sure they'll make it as painless as possible since this sounds like a surprise to everyone involved...including the sellers.

regards

I am sure Air Miles and Disney have some sort of contract and it's not just something someone put on a website.

If they don't honor it, I am sure Air Miles will have a lot of very unhappy customers. And they will discontinue offering the tickets.

I am not going to worry to much about it until I hear this is for sure and not just a rumor.

And if it is true, Disney won't only lose the money I would be giving them for a park hopper, but I specifically booked at the Beach Club so I could go to Epcot often. If I can't hop, then I will rebook at Pop (1/3 of the price of the Beach Club) and only do one park a day. It will be a different touring style than I am used to, but it won't ruin my trip.

That's basically how I'll be handling it, too. We're renting DVC points this time around to stay at either AKV or BWV, but this would possibly become the first time I'd get one-park-per-day passes (unless my Mother absolutely insists on hoppers should she come along with.) At this point, I'll just get them through Disney and nix the Orbitz ticket buying I normally do using Ebates and their 10% cash back.

None of this will ruin my trip, but it will noticeably affect how much money I spend and how often I spend it on multiple things. Park hoppers will probably be out for me (hey, extra $59!) and I'll be one grumpy person for not being able to get my SOTMK card packs each day like I want to, but that's it, really. In a way, it might even be a blessing if this is true. Means I'll be able to save more for longer stays every couple of years versus two semi-long trips each year.

Oh wait… doesn't Disney want my money?

Interesting that Disney didn't bother to contact their authorized sellers about this if it is true. Lots of people upset about it on just this thread. I can't imagine how many others this will impact.
