New Spiel on Monorail and it sounds....

We're at the contemporary this week (blt) and it took me several monorail rides before I even remembered to listen for the change. It seems fine to me.

And they kept all the monorail history on the epcot loop.

Thanks for the update on the Epcot line glad they kept it the same.

And one more thing that occurred to me. A friend of mine in college worked part time at Disney in mk merchandise. He told me his manager was the person who did the voice for the monorail. That was back in 1995. Maybe that person doesn't work for Disney anymore? I'd bet this new voice is a cm that had to audition and was chosen as the new voice of the monorail, likely not paid any extra for the voice work unless they are an hourly employee.

I don't have a problem with the monorail spiel narrator.

However, I do NOT like the happy go lucky lackadaisical narrator currently on the TTA Peoplemover. I miss the "Noooooooow approaching...." narrator there.

I don't have a problem with either of them I suppose but why must they continue to change small things like that :headache:? Sure, people notice when an entire ride or restaurant is "renovated" but the little things like narration on the Monorail and TTA are what make a Disney vacation magical IMO.

Maybe it's silly but hearing different narrations destroy a little part of my childhood. I remember the old narrations fondly and the new ones will take some getting used to :sad2:.

All I can say is.... it's been almost 2 years since I was in WDW listening to ANY monorail speil and it will be at least another 2 years until I can even think about heading down again. Right about now, I wouldn't mind if the spiel was voiced by Ozzy Ozboune :scared: I'd be so happy to be there! :lmao:

How long had the previous voice been used? Is it possible they needed to change some things, but could no longer get the original voice person? As such, they would have needed to redo the whole thing.

The voice is very monotone, but what really bothers me is the ticket commercial they inserted between the wedding chapel description and the Poly. It really doesn't fit and I found it jarring.
