Heys guys,

Trying to find out if the new Sorcerer pass requires a blue member card.

Anyone know?

While we don’t yet have the updated rules, there is no reason to believe that this special pass is any different than before.

It will be part of membership extras and thus, require the blue card. I am going to assume we will see an update on the DVc website with the news sometime today.

I guess I've been out of the loop on this, What is the Sorcerer's pass?

The passes allow you to have park res for every night you stay on property, that should make dvc people who stay for like 2 weeks pretty happy.

(didnt the disneyland passes limit you regardless if staying on property?)

Annual pass has always allowed us to make park reservations for every day of an on site stay without regard to any other park reservation limits that applied to off site stays. (There may have been a glitch or two when the park reservations were first announced, but if so, it was quickly fixed) Were people expecting that to change with the new passes?

Disney has announced the changes for annual passes which you can start buying again September 8 https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/active-passholders/#drawer-card-drawerSP

The Sorcerer's Pass is basically the Gold Pass with a new name and, of course, a higher price, $764 plus tax (which will make it more than $800). The two changes are that you can make five advance park reservations now without having a room reservation rather than the previous three, and it also appears you will now be able to pay for the pass by monthly payments. Otherwise, there does not appear to be anything new except the design of the pass card, e.g., don't expect any favorable Genie+ advantages.

Being able to make advance park reservations for all nights when staying on site was, and still is, the rule.

Can only pay monthly if Florida resident.

Also. Blackout lifted for Easter and 4 days added around Thanksgiving.

Unless I misunderstand, the Sorcerer's Pass offers the monthly payment option only for those on the Florida Resident Monthly Payment Program.

I am really unhappy about the new blackout dates around Thanksgiving, given that one of our reasons for buying into DVC was for Thanksgiving trips. We even have a FW for Thanksgiving at CCV. Now we need Incredi-Passes to go into Disney for W-Sa of Thanksgiving week.

Also, I love Disney, I really do, but this year feels like the ultimate money grab. Raising prices on everything, while offering less. One of the reasons we had loved Disney is that we didn't feel nickled and dimed to death, but I gotta say, I'm feeling the greed here.

Same here! We usually travel that week whether its the weekend before or the day before Thanksgiving. I'm so mad that they did this. I feel the same about them just grabbing all of the dollars from our pockets. Walt would NOT be happy about this.

I stand corrected. And now notice that Disney has made the pass even worse than before, while increasing price. You will no longer get photo-pass but have to pay to add it. In other words, if you want what used to be included in the pass for no extra cost, add another $99 to the price to get photo-pass (and total will be greater than $900 with tax, effectively a 20% price increase).

That was my reaction - 20% effective increase over Gold with more blackout dates. I am convinced the new CEO sees the Theme parks as pure cash cows to milk.

Anytime Disney says "Members" you can just assume its blue card unless its something your dues are paying for. Its very unlikely they would give this discount option to white card since really nothing much has changed except the name of the AP levels.

What are you talking about?

Sorcerer Pass - $749 (Photopass Add-on $99 per family it seems) (now includes option to add-on waterparks)
Previous DVC AP - $719.00 (Photopass included)

So we are talking about a $30 price increase and then for Photopass depending on how many in your family possibly a bump in price there divided out.

The only blackout dates on the Sorcerer Pass is going to be 4 days around Thanksgiving and 2 weeks leading up to New Years Eve. The Gold Pass had 11 extra days blacked out (1 day extra at Christmas and 2 weeks at Easter fully with Thanksgiving not being blacked out)
