I had a Disney nightmare a few days ago, too! That must mean the trip is getting close!

I have just had a few bad days off. 44 days cannot come fast enough! Feeling homesick from my move several months ago. I cannot wait to be in disney with my family!

We'll be arriving at AKL on 9/20 for a nine-day stay. Can't wait to be back. We stayed off-site back in April, but just couldn't get enough of the mouse. This will be our first time staying on property not as a DVC guest. Planning fever has taken over and our disney binder is probably getting a little too much love:lmao:

47 days til hhi and 49 days til Wdw. I've got to get busy making my mouse keeping tip envelopes and my server tip envelopes.

Officially saying goodbye to the dream of September. Have had to move our trip to November. Hope you all have a magical vacation! :wizard:

Yes. For the first time too. I'm so excited. My hubby asked last night if there would be characters there.

Hmmm....I can't remember! My sister stayed there a few years ago and so we hung out at the resort with her for a few days and I don't remember seeing any characters, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. I'll ask her if she remembers.

Hilton Head is our absolute favorite beach location -- we love it. You'll have to try Stu's sandwich shop...it's in a shopping center by the main beach access. They make their own bread and it's amazing. There are so many fun shops to explore, and the beaches are much less crowded than many other beaches. The private Disney beach area is actually across one of the main roads from the complex where the resort is, but they have a shuttle or you can drive yourself. It only takes a couple of minutes to get there. When we go, we stay in a condo in the gated community that contains the "private" Disney beach area. We love it -- very quiet, definitely not crowded. The paved bike paths through town are wonderful, too. It's our favorite vacation spot after Disney World. Have a great time!

I checked with my sister...she said there were no characters when she and her family stayed there two or three years ago.

Hey everyone! We are doing a Disney Cruise and then WDW Sept 19-23.

Can't wait!

I am getting a little nervous though. We chose September for its reputation as a low crowd time at Disney. Now, our last trip to Disney was over a Labor Day weekend, which according to sources, was a low to moderate time to go, and as it turned out, it ended up being slammed. Then, looking back, instead of being like a 3/10 crowd level, as they expected, it ended up being a 7/10 level in reality.

Anyway, I guess that experience has me a little on edge.

Like I said, we chose September, as an all adult party it is a little easier to get away. It is a relatively reasonable time to cruise, pricewise, and WDW is supposedly less crowded. However, I have noticed a few things that have me concerned. When we went over labor day, we were able to get POFQ for $75, great price. Anyway, we are not seeing those bargain basement prices this year that we were hoping for. We ended up renting points, but when we did, it was suggested/told to us that room availability was VERY limited. There was nothing at the Boardwalk or Beach Club available.

Add to that, we are looking at ADRs and finding some restaurants impossible to get into. (We are not actually looking to dine at many of these places, just using it as a barometer for how crowded it will be) We figured that with low crowds, ADR availability would be better. So, now that has us a bit worried.

Will this be the year that September explodes, and once again, we will be unlucky? Ack.

Hi! We are heading to WDW in Sept - which is our FAV time to visit! I would not judge expected crowd levels by your ability to get ADR. WDW is offering free dining - so reservations at the popular spots can be tough to get. We have visited WDW in Sept for the past 5 years. Sat always seems to be quite crowded - we use Sat as our travel day. Also the first week after Labor Day seems to be the quietest. Can't wait - wishing you a super fun time!!!!
