Hi!

Sorry for asking this as I know I have seen the info before but I can't find it now and help I am leaving in three days.

I typically get on 27 but want to take the "new" way in. I believe its one stop past 27? Is that correct? I am pretty sure I could wing it and figure it out at the time but I would feel a bit more secure knowing the exact location and the name of the route.

Thanks!

Oh golly....I'm trying so hard to remember. I THINK it's 429. They used to not have any signage up to alert you that it was a way to WDW, but I'm thinking they now have signs up ON the turnpike itself. There are lots of threads on this road, if you search it. I Think I have the right road number, but hopefully someone will come along and back me up...:). I love going this way. Its so much faster(of course, we used to go all the way up to 4)

Exit# 267A off the Turnpike is the new route you're speaking of. It's actually the second exit after you pass the US27 exit. The road is indeed State Road 429 aka TOLL 429 aka the Western Beltway. Head south (direction: Tampa) and for just $1.00 you'll breeze south to the Disney World / Hartzog Road exit (for Western Way) into Disney World. That's Exit#8 off the 429.

More than you'd ever want to know about this road (including a full exit list) can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_State_Road_429

This road is already open and a quick trip to the west end by Animal Kingdom. Beware of posted speed limits as there have been reports of radar in use.

"By 2010, toll 429, the Western Expressway, will have been built west of Disney World by Florida's Turnpike Authority. 429 will begin on I-4 at exit 60, southwest of Celebration. 429 will go north, crossing 192 with an interchange. Another interchange will primarily serve Disney World, with the connector road ending at Buena Vista Drive between the Osceola Parkway and World Drive. North of there, 429 will join to the already completed section at Florida's Turnpike."

Thanks so much! I will only need to take the road once to remember it - I am looking forward to trying it.

You're welcome.

As Triton mentioned, be careful with your speed. TOLL 429 seems to have more cops on it then would be justified by the light traffic. Even worse, every time I've entered WDW via Western Way there have been traffic cops somewhere along Western Way. Western Way is 4-lanes divided yet the speed limit is low and then drops further as you cross over a bridge over swampland. Seems a deputy is usually at the end of that bridge.

Thanks! We have a new road here like that - brand new - no one is ever on it - low speed limit -- the police love the road!

When coming in on the Western way, as you come to the Long bridge make sure your speed is at 35 mph, as the Deputy Sherrif normaly are waiting for victims whether be a Cast Member or Guest at the Service entrance to Cornodo Springs, with the radar pointed to the blind corner of western way.

You know, I've never seen a policeman on either the 429 or Western Way. Maybe it's Murphy's Law, since I always drive the posted limit. But since Disney CM's have a reputation for driving a little fast, I'm sure they're out there. It's a great way to access Disney for anyone coming down I-75. But it's a good idea to have your air conditioning on. Sometimes their water treatment plant is a little aromatic.

OH LOL too bad my husband isn't coming - he is an environmental chemist and loves to "check out" other water treatment facilities.
