NEW Rejected Offers Thread

Earlier this year we bought 50 at BWV for $140/pt. It had full 2024 points coming in 2025, so double points to start, and all points available in future use years.

We had seen people post about smaller contracts selling for as low as $114 per point. We ultimately decided the difference in price ($1,300) was, in our opinion, made up for the fact that we got double points the first year (including 2024 points we didn't have to pay dues on). And we didn't want to sit around and wait or go back and forth. We made a full asking offer, and it was accepted right away. We had been watching for a few months, and seen a lot of "stripped" contracts, for around the same asking price. (Yes, I know it does not mean they sell for that) We decided to jump at this one, the prospect of double points the first year was enticing.

As the contract values get larger, I am sure the price per point makes a much bigger difference. But we are guilty of helping to keep small contract prices elevated I guess, haha.
This same logic is why I bought a very small direct contract recently at the VGF....

Resort: BWV
Contract Size: 75
Asking: $124
Rejected Offer: $106

No counter. I’m hoping they come to their senses. That’s rental rate price.
It’s so hard. I hadn’t seen one that fit my criteria in quite a while… but for now I’m holding!
I wasn’t able to hold out very long. 8-)

Once I realized there was 16 years of points (1200, instead of 1175), I made a new offer.

Resort: BWV
Contract Size: 75
Asking: $124
Rejected Offer: $112

Seller pulled the contract off the market. lol

Depending on how/when you use your points at BW, it is entirely possible that $140/pt with a year of free points is actually a better deal than $115 without the prior year’s points and it is almost always a better deal than missing current year points, no matter how inefficiently you use them! For example, assuming it’s early in the 2025 UY, I’d pay $140 for a BWV contract with 2024 and 2025 points before I’d pay even $100 for a contact without 2024 or 2025 points. Under $90 is about where that would be a harder choice for me.
