You know, I sort of find this appealing too, BUT, my DD hates the kids meals on the dining plan, so I probably wouldn't use this for another year or two when I could just purchase her an "adult" dining plan. Those kids meals make her school lunch food look gourmet. Gaacck!

I think it's a good option. Doesn't look to expensive either.....yet.

I like this idea. :thumbsup2 I'm not a big eater and while I love to plan (so ADR's are never a problem) I could really care less where we eat. This will definitely work for us. :goodvibes

i think its a great idea, but there isnt much savings????
how much is the regular dining plan cost again?
i think its only a few more dollars and you get a sitdown with characters?

I wish this part was true but it isn't. :sad2: The refillable mug is only for use at your resort.

The following is from the 2009 QS Dining Plan brochure found at this link:

I agree for our family! On our trip earlier this month, we stayed at OKW but didn't eat at a single TS on property the whole trip. We did go to Giordano's one night and Steak and Shake one afternoon.

Otherwise, we ate all CS at WDW. We found some really light and tasty options and were able to go a whole week without ordering WDW burgers or chicken nuggets once!

I am all for the QS plan. It seems like we spent about the same price as the plan per day but we never ordered desserts. Those will be a bonus!

The regular plan is $37.99 per adult and $9.99 per child 3-9. But that does not factor in that you will still need to pay gratuities for your table service meals, and that can really add up!

I think many people are in the mindset that it's a discount plan, when in reality, it's meant to be a pre-paid plan. Many people found loopholes when the plan first started to "maximize" the plan, ordering the most expensive items on a menu to figure inflated "savings".

I think if people factored in the cost of items they would have ordered out of pocket, they'd get the true sense of the value. In the regular plan, the quick service meals all came with beverages and dessert, so that has to be factored into the cost.

And again, factor in that there would be no tipping on the quick service plan vs. the full service plan.

Sorry, you are correct about the refillable mugs. I was told you could refill them at any quick serive location at the four parks but that is WRONG!:sad2:
Sorry about that.
Thanks for the link also.

I think this would be a good option in conjunction with the DDE card for sitdown meals.

Disney said you could save 20% with this plan.

I think it's great and will be using that for our fam's first trip to WDW next year. That way I don't have to be overwhelmed w/a ton of ADR's OR tipping, which I was stressing over.

this is perfect. I am so sick of hearing about ADRs-who spends that much time worrying about food...i personally like a quick svc chicken sandwich lunch and a quick salad for dinner! Kudos!

The WDW radio show is also stating that you can refill the mug at any counter service plus your resort. :confused3

Hopefully this option will relieve a bit of the stress to ADRs.
Personally, I'd never use this plan (I love TS at Disney  ) but am very glad it is available :thumbsup2

$29.99? That seems high to me. But we don't drink pop, so maybe that's why it doesn't seem like such a good deal. We buy a case of bottled water and that's pretty much all we drink at the parks and even at the resort it's pretty much water or coffee and the kids have juice in the morning. We just aren't pop drinkers.

So, basically, I figured an adult CS meal at say $8-10 and a snack at $4, so for me 2 CS meals and 2 snacks would come to about $26-$30 before tax. So basically you are getting the refillable mug for free with the plan?

My husband has to have a sit down dinner so it wouldnt work for us and the price is not that much less than the regular plan. I dont see the savings.
