Why are there so many SSR points available on TTS?
1. Some people did not do their pre buying research and gathering of information and then after making a spur of the moment decision to buy realized that it really wasn't for them - maybe they wanted to trade out and found out it is not always possible in the time frame they want to work in. They didn't want to make reservations at 11 months out etc.
2. Financial situations change and they can not really afford the payments, MFs etc. or the trips themselves. Maybe the money is needed for something else if there had been a job loss or special medical or education needs.
3. Family situations change - divorce, death, health issues requiring the sale.
4. Vacationing habits change - maybe decide to buy a condo or house in the area they wish to vacation in and don't plan to use
DVC any longer.
5. Some may have several contracts and have decided they don't need so many points so are selling one or more. They may also sell one of the older resorts to purchase a different one (AKV) where they want to have the home resort advantage. While SSR is actually one of the newer ones it could still fall into this category.
6. There were some very attractive incentives for purchasing SSR and some may have bought for the incentives, taken the vacations they wanted and now just want to sell.
Out of all the contracts out there I think the percentage of ones for sale is actually very small. I am sure there is someone here on the boards who can come up with an educated estimate on this.
