New pirate makeover experience!

Ahhhh, my boys would LOVE this. Now I need to decide if they *need* the costumes. I am making custom appliqued shirts. Maybe they can just wear those. It will probably be too hot for any of those costumes in Sept. anyway, right?

I am going with my 3 year old and we are both doing the make-up... will we be able to sit next to each other? They made our times for the same time.

Unfortunately, it's not a guarantee. If two chairs open up together then we'll try to meet requests, but we are expecting families to be sat at a variety of chairs at the same time. The room really is not all the big - so you would still be able to see her/him even if you're on the other side of the room.

Is this something I can book now, or does it work like dining that I can only be a certain number of days out from our trip?

Would it be okay if I brought his own pirate costume to wear and just did the makeup/bandana package?

It is like dining - you can book 90 days in advance.

Yes - feel free to have him dress up in his own costume - we recommend that he be dressed before the make over because the make up could smear during a change.

Sorry if this has been answered I am late to the game here, what is the opening date? Where can I read all the info on this, ds will be turning 3 during our trip and is a pirate freak, I would love to set his up for this if it seems like something he would do,Yay for something for the boys!!!!pirate:

It opens for Guests on Jane 29th! You can visit this site for more information: The Pirates League

I'm very anxious to find out about the costume sizes too. DD wears a 14/16 and will be almost 10 when we go. I was going to either make a custom outfit or just do the cheaper package because of her size, but if the girls package with pants fits....

Child sizes are listed below - Hook does not have an XL and Buccaneer does not have an XXS. The Pirate Wench information has not been determined yet.

3 yrs 36-39 in 29-32 lbs 3T XXS
3-4 yrs 39-45 in 32-41 lbs 4T, 4/5 XS
5-6 yrs 45-48 in 41-50 lbs 6/6X S
6-8 yrs 47-53 in 50-68 lbs 7/8 M
9-10 yrs 53-59 in 68-87 lbs 10/12 L

unfortunately the XL info is not listed.

If our Pirates League CM returns, my daughter would love to know if changing into this for the experience would be allowed

This process has not been finalized yet - but I don't think it would be a problem. They are being careful because of the policies regarding adults bringing in their own costumes - if it's clearly their own costume and does not look like one of our characters (ie, sparrow) then I believe it will be welcomed and encouraged (assuming they are joining the league).

We started learning the makeup today - what a hoot!

Did you happen to see the costume I posted? Do you think that would be okay? The difficulty we are having is that the "adult female" pirate costumes all seem to be...err...inappropriate for a 12 year old, if you can understand me. I wouldn't let her around the house in them! But she did really like this one from POTC and I cant' see there being a confusion issue with it (and yes, she's an adult size, but it's still pretty obvious she's 12, lol).

I booked this for my little pirates about 3 weeks ago. I cannot wait 'til it opens so we can see some pictures!!!

My kidlets are also doing the pirate adventure cruise and we are staying in a pirate room at CBR....aaaargh!

I can't wait to see all the pirates running around! It is about time the boys got something special.

My sister and I are thinking it would be fun to do this but have some questions:

First of all, will I feel totally lame if I go in there as an adult. For those of you whp have done BBB do adults attend these experiences and (if so) is it rare or common?

Berlioz70-for the girls makeup is it a "pretty pirate" or a black toothed/nasty pirate? Thanks for your help!

Unlike the BBB - this is designed with Adults in mind! My 58 year old dad will be doing it and he has no children going with him.

They have the nasty pirate choice, but there is also a look called the Empress - which is essentially a wench (without calling it a wench). Dark eye makeup (lots of different BRIGHT colors to choose from), dark pinks for cheeks, red lips, black nails, and glitter with a gem on the cheek.

Ohhhh thanks! I am so excited about this, it sounds great!!

Berlioz, when I called today to add my daughter they said the same hair comments as they do for BBB...do they do something with their hair, too?

It's not really "done" but we will twist the portion around the face back so it is easier to apply the bandana.

Does any one know if you pay in advance, or when you are there, just want to be prepared when I call to make reservations. Also it seems that you can bring your own costume(for child) and that would be okay, right? Thanks

I believe it's similar to the BBB - you will give your CC info and will be charged a fee if you don't show up - but will actually pay for the package and merchandise when you're there.

Yep - bring in your own costumes - just be sure to have your kids dressed BEFORE they arrive to The Pirates League.

Can you image putting on clothes with your face painted (see me avatar for the cursed look) - it'd get all over the place.

Okay wait I'm a bit confused...did you say there was a dressing area there? Should we dress them there, in the dressing area, or before they arrive at the park?

I'm pretty sure our Powder rooms will end up being for costumes purchased with the package (it hasn't been finalized yet) - for the time being I'm saying if the child is bringing their own costume they should dress before they arrive. There are restrooms right around the corner that can be utilized.

I read your blog and have to say that I find your experiences amazing. It has always been my hope that DD can go through the program some day. Thanks for all you are sharing with us. Maybe we'll get to see you working in August.

Berlioz70 - thank you for taking the time to post to all of us and answer the questions! :thumbsup2 I've enjoyed reading the questions/answers and look forward to booking this for my son.

Advice/suggestions please from anyone - I was thinking about booking this on the day we go to MNSSP that way my son would be all "dressed" up for the party and look cute in his pictures. We'd get to the MK around 4ish because we'll take an afternoon break at the hotel so we can make it through MNSSHP. Any thoughts/suggestions on this? Does this sound like a good idea if I aimed for a reservation around 4-5pm either right before or after an early dinner so we wouldn't miss any of MNSSHP or would you guys pick a completely different day/night? Thanks in advance!! :)

Heather

My wife and I are thinking of having my son (4) do the Pirate makeover and then go on the Pirate/Fireworks Cruise. I think my son would be on cloud 9 for that!!
