New package info released!

Ok guys, I called to see for my self and changing to the YRE code (without dining) would actually cost me $144 more than my current 10% AAA room only discount and buying tickets from ticketmania with the mousesavers discount!! Not a deal for me.

Not sure if this is because I am staying at a deluxe (BC) or because I am going during peak season. The CM said the room would be rack rate and I would have to give up the AAA discount. She said the only savings would be free hopping and water parks. As I mentioned earlier I already have one Plus feature left on old hoppers that I can use up.

I'll keep hoping for something else, if not I'll be happy with what I've got!

:)

BTW, the CM told me it was a Disney Visa code and asked if I already had a Disney Visa.

How come some folks get the code applied to their AAA packages & some can't? I am one of the ones who can't & am waiting for this code that is supposedly coming out tomorrow for AAA (at least that is what my TA is saying). :confused3 :earseek:

Good lord - All these numbers and codes and different prices and different travel agencies.........

Thank the lord for annual passes. Even if I only planned on 1 trip a year, I still would go with the AP just to avoid all this confusion.

 Thanks.

Looks like the discount is working for some AAA packages. It looks like it really depends on what time you are going as well...and the AAA discount changes per season...so you might have to factor that in to the discount.

I agree with the AP being the better deal, we used to use that and get in 2 trips , but we won't get any more use out of it than one trip per year, and if we upgrade a 10 to no exp we can get a second trip out of those tix (whenever we go back) and not pay anymore . The "deals" are maddening though! On the other hand...planning is part of the fun!!

I actually found, on this one trip I'm taking in January, getting the AP has saved me more money than any of these new deals.

If you're only going once in a calendar year, then the AP might not work best for you. Knowing I'll be taking at least 2 trips this year, there's no doubt it works out well.

Hey Boom --

You are right, I changed my resv. yest. morning, and we saved $275.00, but then last night, I had someone check the AP rates for me, and going that route would've saved us around $100.00, BUT, we don't know if we'd be able to go again before the AP expired, so for us, the AP wouldn't have worked out. People just need to "crunch" the numbers before they decide. For us, the code was the best option, for others, the AP would be. :wizard: Here's hoping everyone gets the best "deal" they can!!!

Yesterday I phoned and had the code applied to a reservation I made on line previously with no problem, but now I went in to my online reservation and under park tickets type...it now just says ERROR :earseek: . The amount I am being charged is the discounted rate I was quoted yesterday. Do you think I should be worried that there is a problem with the reservation or have other people experienced the same problem?? :confused3

Another thing to consider with the AP are the other discounts. Dining more than anything.

You get 10% off of most of the sit down restaurants, plus 10% off the World Of Disney Store at DTD.

Like I said on another thread - To me, the saved stress not worrying about these package deals is worth something to me. :badpc:

I called this morning I called and asked to have the new code applied to my current ressie at CSR. It was not available. However, it was available at POFQ which was my first resort choice and has been fully booked since Sept. So, I got the resort I wanted and the new code. However, the code only saved me $16. Oh, well.

Has anyone ever heard of Disney releasing one promotion code one day and a different one the next?
They do it all of the time, or have in the past. Pin codes, then general public codes. AP rates, then Florida Resident rates. Codes for Visa holders, then general public codes. Package codes, then room only codes. AP codes via email directly to AP holders, and then announcing the AP code on the website the next day. Disney Club, then general public. 7 for 4 for Disney Club, then 7 for 4 for public, etc.

You can even see it on Mousesavers at http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html#historical

I'm not referring to pin codes, email codes or AP rates.

I'm talking about general package discounts made available to the general public.

He said in his quote, "...then general discount codes".

Exactly - My question is, has Disney ever released a code to the general public one day, then a different one the next day?

I cannot recall them ever doing this. As from what I could see by posters today, the code that was being used today was a general public code, meaning that anyone could use it. If that is the case, why would Disney release a different one tomorrow to the general public causing more confusion?

AP's, DVC, Disney Club, AAA, Florida Residents - There's too many of those discounts to keep track off.

I'm talking strictly general public codes.

Were you able to visit the website? Mousesavers show on 5/3/04 visa discounts were released then on 5/5/04 general codes were released...it also shows las june 7/17 FL Res rates were released then free dining on 7/21. The website is quite comprehensive.

I called my TA this morning, told her all the code info and all the drama that might come along with it lol. She spoke with a nice male CM and he did not give her one smidgen of a problem. She also started off the convo with how I go every year and knew my Disney stuff so he wouldn't act dumb with her LOL He did say that this was a Visa code not a Disney Visa one - I just thought I would throw that in here - I paid my deposit with a Visa and am planning on paying the rest off with the same Visa - but she didn't tell him that and he didn't ask.

Here was my original pricing:

Jan 7-14
2 Adults/1 Jr (DD12)
AKL - Savannah
7 day Park Hoppers (for 3 Adults)
no dining plan
$2936

New Pricing:
Jan 7 -14
2 Adults/1 Jr (DD12)
AKL - Savannah
7 Day Park Hoppers and Fun and More Features (for 3 Adults)
no dining plan
$2496

A savings of $440 - not bad

I guess I'm not explaining myself very well.

Forget about AP's, DVC, FL Res, AAA, Visa, all that stuff. Not interested.

I was under the impression, that today's discount was given to the GENERAL PUBLIC, not one of the above mentioned groups. If this is incorrect, then it is possible a general public code could come out tomorrow.

My question is this - Has Disney ever released a GENERAL PUBLIC code one day, and then released another GENERAL PUBLIC code the very next day?

It doesn't say anything about that on Mousesavers.

My impression is that the first code released was a Visa promotion code, released 2 days before the general public code.

Disney probably had to react to the release of the first code by allowing anyone to book it, due to the large response. Just look for all of the posts mentioning "they went to check with their manager, and they said to book it anyway".

My prediction is a new code WILL come out tomorrow, with the same pricing as the current one, but with no mention of a Visa promotion.

That makes a bit more sense.
