New package info released!

Any news on a room only discount? I really need one! My tickets were bought back in April.

This new code is supposed to be much much better than what they offer now.
I don't know why you think that. My understanding is that the Disney VISA codes were released on Tuesday, and that the corresponding codes were to be released Thursday.

From pricing that I have seen, the PIN code = the VISA code = the Thursday code.

That makes much more sense.

Think about the uproar Disney would get, nevermind this board, if they released another promotion tomorrow, better than the one released today, after people already booked today's.

And why would Disney possibly do that? It makes absolutely no sense.

I posted a few pages ago that I called to see if the new discount code would get me anywhere and the price came back EXACTLY the same as my PIN code I booked a few weeks ago.

I think that the only real advantage to getting the PIN anymore is to get "first choice" of booking what you want before discounted rooms sell out. The pattern seems to be that the exact same discount comes out to the general public about a month later.

This is fine with me. I am happy with the price, resort and tickets I am getting!

Update. My "wonderful" (rolling eyes!) AAA TA finally got the new code (YRD) applied to my existing package. My total dropped from $1935.71 to $1846.16, so I am saving an additional $89.55! It's not huge, but when you figure this same package without AAA or YRD is a tad over $2200, I am happy. We are talking almost $400 in overall savings.

Also, I don't know why there is a difference, but when I called Disney myself for the package with the YRD, I was quoted $1895.77. Somehow my TA got the same deal for $49 cheaper. Good for her! I was really starting to question her for a minute there.

That would be nice but I find that highly unlikely. I think this is it for a while. People are seeing a discount, some of us not as much as others but I think that is because we of course are staying in a cheaper location. As I said I only saved about $80.00 on our MYW package with dining for 5 nights at an Allstar for 2 adults, but I also now have hoppers with plus features that I originally did not have. I will use at least 2 of the plus features, PI and probably DQ, we may just pop in to do the coaster and pirate ship so the free entry to PI will save me $21.26, that is what I would have had to pay for two tickets using my DDE card. Every little bit helps.

If you want some type of discount and this works for you I would hop on it today, I wouldn't wait for something better to hit tomorrow. If it does YIPPEE, YAHOO, but if not you will have something already.

I GOT IT!!!!!

Okay, I hope I got it, we'll see when the new confirmation arrives.

I got the sweetest CM this morning. She told me this was a brand new promotion with visa- didn't mention anything about it being a Disney Visa. She said it was good that I called about it today since these types of codes sell out very quickly. Anyway, she checked if it could be applied to my reservation and had no problem doing it once she added on the plus option to our tickets. She told me it was applied and that the reservation number stayed the same and all our ADRs were still in place.

Here is what we had and have now.

7nights at the Poly with dining for 2 adults 3 children (2 count as adults)

before with 8day/hopper option only-- $4882.21

after with Plus options added-- $4486.63

That's $395.58 saved!! :cheer2:

I'm just waiting and praying now that it's all correct and that all our ADRs are okay.

Anyone who was told no, it wouldn't hurt to try again. Good Luck! :teeth:

That would be a public relations nightmare.

Wow, I think it would be a nightmare to us @ disboards :rotfl2: ...and this seems to be a particular discount for Visa, either to promote it, and/or get more people to sign up. IMO, nov. 3rd was what we heard from jump so why wouldn't we just wait and see what happens tomorrow?

This promotion seems to be very centralized to VISA, there are discussions on other threads saying that AAA may get to apply codes tomorrow...So regardless of when Disney releases, its a discount, and its obvious there are more to come tomorrow. The ORIGINAL date. ;)

We got the code YRD added to our exisitng ressie. It saved us 413.70. We are staying at POFQ for 8 nights Late Feb to March We had 7 day park hopper with dining King room. Original price was 2980.24 tax included. New price is 2566.54 tax included. So now we have the hopper with water park and more options included at a good savings. I am so happy. :sunny: This will give use extra for our 30th anniversary celebration. Thanks DIS for letting us know that this was on the way and we could keep a look out for it. :sunny: :disrocks:

I just got off the phone with a CM who gave me a quote on an MK view tower room. I have one booked currently with a AAA rm. only discount.

***Didn't trust the first CM I talked to so I hung up and called back. I was quoted the same price for a tower room - not MK view. This CM told me that MK view rooms had been available but were sold out. Didn't give me significant savings so I'm sticking with my AAA room only.

I called to see if there were MK view rooms available with the YRD code and was told that none were available - I asked if that was just with the code and she said none were there at all (there were some on the disney site so she must have meant the code). I had her give me a quote for a Tower bay view room for 6nights, tickets, dining, insurance for 2 = $31xx. We have a MK view booked for $33xx with the email code. I'm pretty sure then that the offers were essentially the same and I'm not missing out on anything with the new code.

All right here is my question...my TA gort me quotes of 3 adults, 1 child at POP and AKL with all of the Plus etc and dining (the POP is 2 rooms)

Anyway her quote POP 4178.15
AKL 4678.55

Last night on the Disney website I got price quotes without adding in any discount code (it never asked for one and I don't assume they automatically give one either right?!?) and here was there quote

POP 4178.29
AKL 4678.55

NO SAVINGS!!!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

What do you think is up? :confused3

Did the site just apply the YRD code ?

Did my TA forget to apply the code??

Am I missing something? :confused3

Please give me the phone number so I can call myself!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Not that I'm denying what your TA said, but it seems VERY odd to me that Disney would release 1 code today, have people book that, then release a better code tomorrow. That would be a public relations nightmare.

Well, My AAA TA tried and tried yesterday with no luck...today she tried for the YRD one again and it didn't go through...so the supervisor helped and actually got a different code that was released today that saved me almost $200.

So...not only would they, but it seems they did!

$200 isn't as much as we were hoping for but we will take it none the less!

I don't know what's going on. This is one reason why I just go with AP and the AP discount. It's so much easier. You save just as much (if not more) money, and it's a simple flat rate amount off of the room. Tickets are already paid for, so that's out of the way.

All these package discounts would drive me crazy.

well..either my TA is lying (doubtful), her sales manager is lying, or we can all wait until tommorow when this new code comes out and find out I was right.

If it's dubious that they would release a new code, then it's also dubious that they would release a package discount that A: does not apply to everyone B: saves people a medicore amount of money C: has a water park bonus in Jan....that to me makes no sense. this is still the slow season and they still need to fill the rooms. I'm still being optimistic. I have no reason otherwise.

The only possible scenario I can fathom is that the discount that came today was the Disney Visa discount that some are talking about.

What possible explanation could there be for Disney releasing 1 discount code today, and then another tomorrow?

I agree that this promotion isn't good, but that's all more of a reason why they shouldn't come out with another one tomorrow. Let's say they do that - If you booked the discount code today, and found out there was a better one tomorrow, obviously, you'd cancel the old one and book the new one. Disney knows this. Why would they go through the effort of doing that? It's just silly.

So I wonder if you apply these new codes today, save some money and then apply new codes tomorrow and save some more money, OR HORRIBLE HORROR tomorrow a new discount comes out and you have to choose which you like better 'cause they save you the same amount of money UGGGGGG

That's why I don't see why they would do that. It just makes no sense.

Has anyone ever heard of Disney releasing one promotion code one day and a different one the next?

I know that TA's have been telling people that the AAA code is not out yet, but I am looking at a fax of a AAA confirmation that has a new code on it. Apparently they got the code to work -- I don't think I am allowed to post the code so PM me if you need it. My package also included the planet hollywood food and merchandise vouchers and the AAA Diamond card for discounts.

I originally had a booking (pre-discount) with AAA for 3684.32 for 2 adults (2 year old), park hopper only - 8 day tickets, with meal program, and roundtrip airfare for the three of us. Now the airfare was around 222.00 per person lets say we take that out of the equation - Before discount = $3018.32.

Well AAA TA called Disney to get the YRD discount code applied and without the airfar stuff included in this equate, but with the same items items above and in addition the park hopper with water park/etc. extra passes, it was 20.00 more = $3038.32.

Is that Right? Should it have gone up by 20.00 with the discount code. Granted, I already got the AAA discount on the original package (rooms) and it does appear to be on this package (rooms) as well. Anyone in the same boat as me in terms of getting a better discount, etc? Or does this sound right?

Good lord - All these numbers and codes and different prices and different travel agencies.........

Thank the lord for annual passes. Even if I only planned on 1 trip a year, I still would go with the AP just to avoid all this confusion.
