New package info released!

My husband has been making fun of me as I have been poring over the boards and info and getting ready for our trip and eagerly awaiting the discount. I also wish it were more, but I'm happy with anything I got. I AM a little bummed though---now that we know what the discount is...it's sort of like a let down (ie one less thing I have to anticipate and eagerly monitor). Anyone else with me?

I just talked to my AAA agent and the code for the AAA packages is YQW. It is the same code with the PH plus (water parks, pleasure island, disney quest, etc) that came out on the first but is exclusively for AAA packages. With that added to my package our price went down about $80.00. We probably want do the water parks in February but we will use the pleasure island part. Can't wait to get there.

She had called yesterday and they said that the other code could not be applied to the AAA packages. She was persistent and called back today and finally got the new code applied. YAY!!!

Every penny saved is another one I have to SPEND on something else.

I do agree with you. Now that the discount si out, and ADR's are done,I have nothing to look forward to except the trip which is MONTHS away. Well Jan 27th to be exact. But no "little excitements" to check out before we go. I'm definately gonna have trip planning depression. HMMMMM wonder if I should book another trip????think that would help?? :rotfl:

HI! I just talked with my AAA TA, I am only going to be saving $17.72 on my package but I get free water parks & PI passes which we wanted to do anyway so I guess I can't complain. Even if I only saved $5 it would be better then nothing.

I was also able to keep my prefered room status at POP with this package.

Does anyone know if we were suppose to get free park hopper with this code? I am pretty sure I didn't.

Thanks
:paw: :paw: :paw:

I believe so, call your AAA TA back to make sure, she/he may have omitted from telling you that.

I just called WDW travel and added the YRD code to my reservation. I have POR booked for Jan 1 -7, with dining and park hoppers for 7 days. It is saving me $216.54. I'm very happy!

When I just spoke with her again I asked about the free hopper this is what she told me "According to the wording, yes, but there is no AAA discount. It is hard sometimes to figure them out". Any ideas on what that means? Are other people using AAA getting the free hoppers?

Grrrr, this is frustrating! :earseek:

Disney does not allow "code stacking", so what the agent probably did is convert you from a AAA package to the new discount package. This way you get the free hopping (and discounted rates) but it is no longer a AAA package, just booked by an AAA agent.

Hope that helps.

Okay, I understand that, but what if you have a AAA TA that pretty much doesn't want to do that for you. Is it possible to transfer the ressie to another non-AAA TA? And have them help you?

Yes and no. AAA packages can only be with AAA agents. If you are outside your 45 day window and don't have insurance, I would book with a new agent, be sure you can get what you want, than cancel with AAA. If you are within your window, it is a little harder.

It is unfortunate that people end up with agents who really don't have their clients best interest at heart. My clients are always thrilled with the surprise email, "I have applied a new Disney promotion to your account and you now will have $XXX extra to spend on other things" They love the savings and ultimately, they usually call me to add an extra experience that they might not have done otherwise.

A little confused...outside/inside 45-day window...my 45-day payment is due Dec. 15. Am I inside or outside?

Like the Diamond parking lot and the story telling and the free voucher?

My guess is no, but this is something else that my AAA TA never mentioned. So do I get that stuff? I don't know.

When I call tomorrow to make another payment, I am going to ask her about the AAA perks and the PH stuff.

I just applied the YRD code to our 5 night 6 day stay at WL and it saved us $281. I'm not greedy, I'm happy with it. :)

Outside the 45 day window is what you are right now (Dec. 15th is your 45 day window from checkin). If you cancel your reservation in the 45 days pior to arrival there is a fee but that would not apply to you.

Sorry if I was vague before

Thanks to some great advice from lovetoscrap I called back and removed my "preferred room" status, booked with code YQX at ASMovies and saved $233! I'm hoping to get 101 Dalmations building, which won't be a bad walk to both ASMovies and ASMusic bus stops. This website is helping me BIG TIME! Thanks, DISers!!! :goodvibes :teeth:

Shhhhhh. . . Don't tell my little secret about using the Music buses instead of Movies. :teeth:

Now you have plenty of money for :mickeybar !

Well my dilemma is this...i have booked a split stay, 2 rooms 6 nights at POP and then 5 nights 1 room AKL with AAA. To do the package code with dining made my price increase several hundred dollars because you had to have the dining and park passes for each place (that's what I was told anyway) The room/tix code is better, I actually save 24.00 That's right 24.00 And the best way for me to do it was to book the POP with the code and 10 day hoppers, and then AKL room only with AAA. That gave me the HUGE savings of 24.oo (oh yeah and I will get the premium passes instead of just the hoppers that i had planned) If I went to all AKL I saved about 10 bucks, but was staying 10 nights at AKL which was more expensive than the 2 rooms at POP. If I went to all POP I save about 500.00, but that's also partially because I gave up the more expensive 5 nights at AKL. I decided to do the split stay thing after seeing so many good reviews on these boards about it, and now of course am majorally psyched to stay at 2 resorts, but the codes didn't really help me at all, and I would actually be paying more with adding the dining plan than it would cost me (about 250.00 more) So here is a toast to my 24.00 savings :earseek: , freezing our behinds :cold: at the water parks because they're "FREE" and eating my 24.00 savings in Mickey Mouse bars!!!

So glad I was anxiously watching for these codes, and e-mailing my poor TA about 50 times getting about 10 different quotes. I mean hey I saved 65.00 at the grocery store and I never even had to go to the computer and read about 1000 posts, spending hours of quality time with the computer, but to save 24.00 dollars I did all that. :bitelip: :teeth: :rotfl2:

Saddest part is, I'm so OCD about planning and Disney that it dosen't bother me that I just wasted all of that time!!! One sorry DIS lovin chick I am!!

Ok~ I am so with you here! I am sad because I really was hoping for something good, not great like dining, but at least good. NOPE!
We are still going, and will have a great time, but I feel let down.

I am really sad because now all the planning is over and I have nothing to do ...

When is this rate good for, just if you book before Dec. 2005? If I have an exsisting ressie can I apply the code? My trip is March 18-25. Thanks!
