New Package Discount for Disney Visa Holders!

haven't made up my mind whether or not to go for it.

Polynesian Garden View - 7 nights, 7 day base ticket for two adults: $2,633.98 (includes all taxes)

Wilderness Lodge Woods View - same as above = $2,043.32.

I did the math. For rack rate at the Poly and a 7 day base ticket for both of us it would be $3,312.08. At the WL it would be $2,375. That's $678.02 off the Poly and $332 off Wilderness Lodge.

I never book packages - can someone please tell me what the cancellation policy is?????????? I'm sure it's not 5 days out like room only.

What do you guys think about this deal? Do you think a room only code will come out for October and perhaps I should hold off.

I'm stressing a little here. We had a trip planned in August, yes...right now. We are suppose to be there. We couldn't go for financial reasons and work reasons. BUT, we feel it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE we'll be able to go during the Food & Wine and Halloween. Which we've never done and are dying to do.

Should I???? I really need to know the cancellation policy.

Hi Pam,

It's 45 days with a package & the downpayment is $200.

Pam and all. here are all the rules for packages from Mousesavers:

When booking a vacation package through WDTC, you will be subject to the following rules:
You must pay a $200 deposit within 14 days of reserving your package.

Final payment of the entire remainder is due 45 days prior to check-in. You have to pay in full right away if you are booking less than 45 days in advance.

You can change or cancel your reservation without penalty up until 45 days in advance. From 6 to 44 days in advance, there is a cancellation fee of $100. If you cancel 5 days or less in advance, you pay a $200 penalty.

Any changes that result in a rate change, such as applying a discount code, reducing number of days and/or changing to a differently-priced resort, made 45 days or less prior to arrival, are subject to a $50 fee.

Beware - WDTC usually adds nonrefundable travel insurance to your package by default. If you don't want it, tell them while you are making the reservation. Once you hang up, it's too late. You can add the insurance later if you wish, up until your final payment is due. You can also buy travel insurance directly and usually save some money that way.

Airfare added to your reservation is also nonrefundable. It's hardly ever a good deal, either. I strongly advise booking airfare separately. Visit the Airfares page for hints on how to save on airfare!

This is all new to me...

If I use my Visa to book the Visa discount and another discount comes out (ie: free dining) can that discount be added to the existing package? or would the original one need to be cancelled and the new one be booked?

What is the policy for changing packages/discounts? i don't know if I should wait or book and hope I did the right thing.

Looking at 12/8-12/17. Anyone have any resort suggestions: 2 Adults 1 child (4.5yrs) for moderate or deluxe?

Thanks

Thank you. I forgot it needs to be paid in full 45 days out. The cancellation policy isn't too bad.

Darn it, Darn it, Darn it!!!

I called...there are no rooms left at the POLY for my dates of 11/18 - 11/25!!!

I COULD have saved $452 above and beyond my AAA disc, now I don't know what I'm going to do. I really don't want to switch resorts.

To the OP, thank you :worship: I just saved $287.00 :yay:
You are SO welcome! I was just thrilled to see how many pages of great news were on this thread. I don't post a lot but I sure am glad that I did this time. I am very excited for all of you who saved some money with this info!!!

Well, I just got off the phone with Disney and tried to apply the discount to my 2 rooms at POFQ, but only POR and CBR were available. I figure I'll just wait until the usual codes from Disney come out for my time next month and use those. If history holds true, I'll actually save more money using the Disney code than the Visa code.

How did you hear about this pakage? I find it annoying that I got no info through Disney Visa or the Disney website. I seem to be shut out of this deal because due to they had limited availability during Thanksgiving and I did not find out till 5:30 and was sold out.
Mousesavers. Mary's site is usually the first to post this kind of info and I just happened to check all of my Disney sites (there are many) at just the right time yesterday. I've found that Mousesavers and the DIS are your two best bets for being the first to know. I'm just glad that I didn't assume that the info was already posted here because reading all of these posts has made my day!!!!! :teeth:

Has anyone actually gotten the deal at POR in early Dec? I'm still obsessing about not being able to use this for my trip from Dec 8-16. Please let me know if you were able to get it. I may check back a couple of times to see if anything opens up.

Thanks!

As long as you are before 45 days of your trip you can call and have them apply a new code/discount to your existing ressie. After 45 days there is a fee, but it is often worth it because the savings is more than than the fee.

BUT, for the last year (and more) Disney has really only be offering ONE general public package discount at a time. They may offer AP or FL resident discounts at the same time, but chances are pretty high that this is the best offer you are going to get. They did offer a room only discount that overlaps with the same period as Free Dining, but that is the first Room Only discount that I have seen for the General Public in quite a while.

Personally, I would jump on this right now. Since the time you are looking at is fairly popular (not huge busy, but not "dead") I would be very surprised if a better offer came up.

ok. just got off the phone.

old package
11/29-12/4-6day park hopping option w/dinning
Travel Ins Included
AKL-Pool View-$2726.34

New Disney Visa
11/29-12/4-6day park hopping option w/dinning
Travel Ins Included
AKL-Pool View-$2435.34

$291.00 savings.

Heres the kicker. The first lady didnt request my disney visa card. I called back the 2nd person didnt make me use my dv card. I originally siged up with a regular visa card. They said that I could pay my trip off with my dv card. Dosent sound right to me. I thaught they had to cancel my ressie and do a new one with my dv card. Im not sure. Will try to call back again later. Are they cancelling your original deposit and crediting it back and making you put it on your dv or do they not do that anymore? Just confused.

I guess I waited too long to call. When I called this afternoon I was told only preferred rooms were available at any of the value resorts. I may change to a room only reservation. Since we had to buy a 1 day base ticket and get a preferred rm the savings isn't very much.

Ok, just off the phone and here's what I was quoted for 2 Adults:

11/2 to 11/5, ASMusic (standard view), 1 day tix = $302.64

Help!

CRO just told me that you may not apply any sort of additional discount to room portion of the package...

including AAA???

Did I mis-understand the prior posters who said they were apply to apply code to existing AAA-booked pkg & get additional discounts?:confused3

When I called the CM told me that you didn't have to pay with the Disney Visa, but they could ask for it as identification at the resort. He said he had booked a package for someone else who had used a Citibank card.

You can only get one discount per package, either a code or AAA, not both. You can apply codes to regular priced packages. You can apply codes to an exisiting AAA booked package, but the code overrides and replaces the original AAA discount.
