New Package Discount for Disney Visa Holders!

OK, after reading Mousesavers.com I see that August 17th the public may use this code too, if that's so, we don't need the Disney Visa Card to use the code. Is that correct or I'm just not reading this right?

You can only get one discount per package, either a code or AAA, not both. You can apply codes to regular priced packages. You can apply codes to an exisiting AAA booked package, but the code overrides and replaces the original AAA discount.
thanks!

When I called the CM told me that you didn't have to pay with the Disney Visa, but they could ask for it as identification at the resort. He said he had booked a package for someone else who had used a Citibank card.

Thank you for letting me know. I was a little confused. I will pay it off with my dv. just for the rewards points. I will have it with me in dw too. I just wanted to make sure I was doing this right. Thanks again.

ok. just got off the phone.

old package
11/29-12/4-6day park hopping option w/dinning
Travel Ins Included
AKL-Pool View-$2726.34

New Disney Visa
11/29-12/4-6day park hopping option w/dinning
Travel Ins Included
AKL-Pool View-$2435.34

$291.00 savings.

Heres the kicker. The first lady didnt request my disney visa card. I called back the 2nd person didnt make me use my dv card. I originally siged up with a regular visa card. They said that I could pay my trip off with my dv card. Dosent sound right to me. I thaught they had to cancel my ressie and do a new one with my dv card. Im not sure. Will try to call back again later. Are they cancelling your original deposit and crediting it back and making you put it on your dv or do they not do that anymore? Just confused.

She didn't take mine either. But she did say I have to pay the balance with it.

Here's my question: I am trying to upgrade to AKL (just standard) and the quote I continue to get is only about $40 off the room rate :confused3 which is the same discount at POR ($40 off the room rate). Your quote looks like almost $60 off? How many nights are you there?

I just called back...and was told they expect their computers to be down for several hours! The woman that I talked to, very nice btw, said that yes, it was ok, that I didn't have my Disney Visa yet, that I could make a $200 deposit with another card, and then pay the rest off with the Disney Visa.

It driving me crazy. I can book a regular package on the disney website so i know there is room at the hotel(11/22-11/29). But i cant get the VISA saving on the same thing when I call. I wonder if I book the package online will they apply the VISA saving on that package. then? Any thoughts

we are there 11/29-12/4-5 nights

I'm so sorry to be nosy like this  but is it a deluxe pool or regular pool? My CM earlier today said the discount is 20% and I just can't get those numbers to mesh based on the price quote I received. It seems to me that the Mods standard rooms are $99 and the Value standard room are $49 (during Value season I am referring to) so why are they being so stingy on the deluxes?

I would keep calling (once the computers are back up that is). Perhaps they are simply sold out of that package at that resort but will open more soon (or once the public code comes out?)
Fingers crossed for you!

I'm in the same boat here. They won't allow me to apply the Disney Visa code to my already existing ressie at the Poly (11/18 - 11/25), but if I go online it shows availability at that resort for my dates.

I'm hoping when the computers come back up I'll either get a better CM, or ask for clarification as to WHY they won't allow me to do this.

If not, I'll have to see what availablility they have at other resorts for the code. BUt I REALLY want to stay at the Poly.

It looks like the discount is 20% off the room (deluxe) and tickets - - I crunched our numbers and .....

Room
Polynesian, Garden View, Regular Season (October)
$369 - $74 (20% discount) = $295 + $34 (11.5% tax) = $329/night
$329/night X 7 nights = $2,303
Tickets
5-Day Base Ticket + ParkHopping Option, 2 Adults/1 Child
$716 - $143 (20% discount) = $573 + $37 (6.5% tax) = $610

$2,303 + $610 = $2,913

(I was quoted $2,911 but I rounded up so that would explain the $2 difference.)

We didn’t get the DDP option. Is that discounted too? If so, I might think about adding it.

Debbie

I know the WL is full for thanksgiving, I dont know about the values or deluxes. For the Mod they had CBR or CSR we really want POR. I planning to call every am especially on the 17 when it opens to the public. Hopefully they will release more rooms. Right now I have CBR on hold

I don't know if I can explain it well enough to understand, but here goes a try:

There are X number of rooms available at a given resort, but only a percentage of those rooms will be available at the "Discount Code Rate". Just because a room is available online, doesn't mean that it is a "Discount Code Rate" room. You may be able to reserve that room for non-code price, but not code price. So when you see available rooms on the WDW site, it doesn't mean that it is available at code rate. Make sense?

I just called to see if there was availability left and they couldn't help me because their systems are being "magically enhanced." Anyone else having this problem? I'm so excited that there's a code--the suspense is killing me to see if I can use it!!! :Pinkbounc

During Value Season, it comes out to a lot less than 20% of.

I had 3 different quotes for value season and they all come out to $40.50 of a nightly rate.

CR Garden Wings 12/9-12/15
2 adults and 2 kids
7 day base tickets plus dining
no travel insurance
$3092.90
Rack price $3353.90

CR MK View 12/9-12/15
2 adults and 2 kids
7 day base tickets plus dining
no travel insurance
$3734.18
Rack price $3995.18

Poly Garden View 12/9-12/15
2 adults and 2 kids
7 day base tickets plus dining
no travel insurance
$3261.62
Rack price $3522.62

With every package above I could save a flat $261. For 6 nights that comes to $40.50 discount a night. It doesn't seem like much compared to some of the savings posted, but I'll take what I can get.

Yeah, I don't know why discounts are different for Regular vs Value and Deluxe vs Moderate vs Value.

I saw someone post that their TA said it was a 20% discount and wanted to compare that to my reservation - Regular, Deluxe - and it was 20%.

Yep, like you, I'll take what I can get! ;)

Anyone know if the dining portion is discounted?

Debbie

I called this morning and received a quot of around 4800 dollars for 5 people 3 adults 2 kids, 5 and 3 at AKL Deluxe Savannah view, which sounds about 300 dollars off the regular room price. From where it stands, our current deal is much better. I am sorta confused. :confused3 :confused3

Saved $400.54 on our package !!
HOWEVER, my sister just now tried to call Reservations and was told all the computer systems were down so they couldn't help her right now and didn't know when the computers would be up again.....
