New Package Discount for Disney Visa Holders!

AAA TA called and apologized for giving me inaccurate info in regards to having to wait to make the final payment to apply a discount code.

He also said he spoke with WDW and was told:

1. POFQ is not available for that discount for my dates.
2. POR is available for the dates (but I really do not care for this resort).
3. Asked what the price difference would be for 1 person for 10 days/9 nights, standard view room, 10 day park hopper pass and dining program.

My current AAA Package @ POFQ rate is $1,924.12.

AAA Package @ POR same info with discount code is $1,874.91.

Difference of $49.21.

For that kind of difference, am going to keep what I have, as I would rather stay at the resort I want to stay at, instead of staying where I do not want to for a savings of $49.21.

Just hung up the phone with WDWTC and was quoted the same information and prices as my AAA TA gave me.

Just wanted to share with those who may not know, that if you don't care about park hopping, you can ask for base tickets and shave even more money off your package. (This requires a little extra planning and you can still leave the park and come back the same day; you can also add the hopping option later on if you miss it too much).

An example:

4 nights, Oct, 2Ad 2Ch

POP:
$1099 with PHs (incl tax, no ins)
$929 with base

CSR:
$1323 with PHs
$1153 with base

A savings of $170 with both.

Another thing to be careful of if you're attending MNSSHP but not going to the park that day beforehand: The CM I spoke with last night (incorrectly) told me I'd need regular park tickets in addition to MNSSHP to get in, even if I was only attending the party. I know this isn't true because we went last year. Had I listened I would have paid for an additional day that I didn't need.

Happy Planning Everyone!! :tinker:

Pop Century:
two adults, two children,
October 24 through November 2nd.
6 day non hopper tickets $1282.60

I had priced on the website same nights with 4 day tickets for $1770...

OK, I called to quote our package for the week after Thanksgiving.

Currently we are $2430 for 2 adults, 1 child, POR standard room, 7 nights, 8 day park hoppers and dining plan.

Was quoted $2115 ($315 savings)

OR, we could upgrade to AKL $2666 for the standard or $3296 for savannah.

(also checked WL and CR and there was no availability)

Chase is rushing my Visa card and hope to have it here tomorrow so I guess we have a day or so to think on it...

I just noticed that we'll be at WDW at the same time - and kaydoggie, we'll be at Pop also!

Our dates are 10/21 - 10/28. I can't wait to get there!! It's my children's first trip (although I've been several times before I DH and I got married)!!

Just got off the phone with Disney reservations. :sunny:

I kept the same Magic Your Way Package with park hopper & dining. With a 1% Orange County tax increase, removing the trip insurance, and Visa discount my total went from just over $3,000 to $2450. :Pinkbounc Yeah!!! :)

I'm just concerned about removing the trip insurance. Did I do the right thing?

Oh, and I was told the final payment needed to be payed in full on the Disney Visa.

So I dont know what to do
11/22-11/27
POR
AAA Room standard and 3 adult, 1 child 4 day base tickets= $155o.50

CBR room standard and 3 adult, 1 child 4 day base tickets=1354.94 Visa Deal

savings $195.64
AAA reserved - package on reserve for 2 weeks
Husband really wanted to stay at POR for theming and would pay. He is afraid of bad bus servive in the large CBR and being stuck in the back of a huge resort. I would like to save. Hoping to call back on the 17th and find out they are releasing more rooms at POR to the package.

Just changed my package - we are staying at the PORiverside. We had a price of $1811 which included water view, 5 day hoppers and the dining plan (a little steep for basically 4 days ...) and so with the new discount (disney visa) - we had to switch to a "standard" view room (no water discounts available) and the price dropped to $1554 - so a savings of $257 approx.

I guess that's pretty good ??

what is your travel dates

I had emailed my AAA TA last night asking her to call CRO this morning. She just called me back. Here's my new quote for the package, compared to what I originally booked below. I forgot to mention before, I had declined the insurance with the original package. The new one does not include it as well.

Oct 9-13
CSR - king room water view requested
5 day park hopper ticket with dining
$919.84

That's $6.04 more and I'm getting dining with this new package. I went ahead and switched it. I'm thrilled with this deal.

I just applied online and got instant approval for the Disney Visa. You have to go through disneyworld.com - there's an icon at the bottom of the page to apply. I called and was able to get the discount, the reservationist had access to my new account even though I don't even have the number yet.

My reservations are for Dec 11 - 16th at POFQ (stnd view) with 6 day base tickets with dining. My original total was $2315. My new total is $2090. Yea!!

Yea! I just saved $301.44! I called my AAA agent and they applied the code to my POP reservation for October. Love these boards!

ok, I need help. Usually I can figure this out, but thought with how much some of you LOVE just planning out a trip, and finding out the savings-someone could offer me help!

We want to go end of Sept or really any date in Oct, for about 5/6 nights. We have 5, so I guess POR would be the place to stay.......what are the dates for this offer? Also, would I get a better rate by calling my AAA TA?

I want to do this before it opens on the 17th so I can hopefully get a room...is there a cancellation fee if I have to cancel within the next two weeks? There is a possibility I may be able to start my nursing classes early, which would mean no disney in Sept/Oct. But what type of fee will I get hit with???

haven't made up my mind whether or not to go for it.

Polynesian Garden View - 7 nights, 7 day base ticket for two adults: $2,633.98 (includes all taxes)

Wilderness Lodge Woods View - same as above = $2,043.32.

I did the math. For rack rate at the Poly and a 7 day base ticket for both of us it would be $3,312.08. At the WL it would be $2,375. That's $678.02 off the Poly and $332 off Wilderness Lodge.

I never book packages - can someone please tell me what the cancellation policy is?????????? I'm sure it's not 5 days out like room only.

What do you guys think about this deal? Do you think a room only code will come out for October and perhaps I should hold off.

I'm stressing a little here. We had a trip planned in August, yes...right now. We are suppose to be there. We couldn't go for financial reasons and work reasons. BUT, we feel it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE we'll be able to go during the Food & Wine and Halloween. Which we've never done and are dying to do.

Should I???? I really need to know the cancellation policy.

Has anyone figured out the discount? It doesn't seem the same for all resorts based on the before & after figures everyone is posting.

I was just thinking the same thing since the quote I got for AKL is only a $300 savings for 7 nights in value season of rack rate (which is the same savings they quoted for POR - a moderate resort) :confused3

It looks like people going during regular season vs. value season are getting bigger discounts. I had 3 different price quotes all during value season, for CR wings, CR MK view, and Poly GV, and all three were $243 of the rack rate :confused3

These are rough numbers as I may be off by pennies here and there(because of tax issues)
Dates 12/14 - 12/17
Value - it looks like $49 night
Package #1 (POP) - $709
2A2C - 3nights / dining / 1 day base tickets
Breakdown
$293 - dining
$262 - tickets
Balance= $154 - Room (divide by 3 = $51.33)

Moderate - it looks like $99 night
Package #2 (POFQ) - $877.50
Breakdown
$293 - dining
$262 - tickets
Balance= $322 - Room (divide by 3 = $107.33)

Hope this helps someone.
