New Option for Disney's photo package

I just got off the phone with Rosie and she said there is an option they are doing for the high res disk.

If you want the high res disk and not the web posting or the contact book you can get the disk for an Added $395 instead of the higher amount they were doing .

I know that's a good deal compared to what it was.... But, wow. They really know how to take advantage. The photoshoot is ridiculously high priced to start with and getting worse each year. Then they took away the "buy it after 3 years for $99" deal. Now, if you give up a bunch of stuff, they'll graciously allow you have the disk for the low price of $400.

And to top it all off, the pictures are never actually that good. I have yet to see a Disney bride come out of that shoot with amazing or remotely creative photos.

The worst part? They'll never price themselves out of the market on this one. No matter how much it is, people will pay. But it seems very disingenuous on their part.

I have to agree on this and though I hate to this thread, the same goes for character appearances. Really. Do you know how much those entertainment staffers make an hour? Even considering the upkeep on a costume, $800 for half an hour is just beyond "beyond." DH is joking about how he can understand why I love a "mouse" who makes $1600/hour compared to his measly business executive salary. I told him it really only comes out to $800/hour probably because of travel time and attire changing time. Oh, and if you figure in a "handler" you might even be able to convince yourself it is a bit less than that per hour per "body". Still, how can you resist a mouse like that? Or pictures in front of the castle when you have the park to yourself, for that matter?

It sounds like this new deal is just for the Escape wedding photos - I'd be willing to bet that if you want to add your MK shoot photos, the price goes up.

Well, that would certainly make them more appealing. Sounds like an attempt to keep brides using DPS. I don't regret using Randy AT ALL, but it would play into budgeting a little more if you get the high res cd for $400. Interesting....but I agree, I don't think that would include the MK shoot. They still want to keep the market cornered and high on that. I don't blame them for that.

The char. thing is funny u say that cam cause we were checking on the pay that disney pays and it was like $8.50 an hr for costume char.
