It was reported in the thread Halloween on the High Seas Navigator? that the new Personal Navigators now are only the one sheet insert with the hourly grid (and info on the back) instead of the four page booklet with insert.

Scott Sanders from www.disneycruiselineblog.com tweeted about it earlier today as well:

I thought I would move the discussion about this in its own thread instead of continuing it in a thread where it does not belong as I thought that many people would be interested in hearing this.

Edited on 10/08:

It appears that after the initial one page navigators the Magic DVC Member Cruise and one Fantasy sailing went back to the large format navigators. However, the most recent Magic cruise (which returned 10/07) reverted back to the one page navigators after day 1.

I would love to hear any other current experiences!

I can confirm that was how they were last week; however, I can't supply pictures.

Embarkation had a full Navigator but others did not.

Can confirm. Was on the Magic sailing on the 10th and the only one that had the full Navigator was in port before we embarked.

It probably has to do with the app coming out and them wanting to implement it more. The app was really convenient. I used it a lot.

This is disappointing -- going through the Navigator after dinner is one of my favorite cruise activities, sad as that sounds! DH laughs that I enjoy planning even on vacation, but he's embraced it at this point.
I feel like one of the stand-out features of DCL is their full-color, multi-page Navigator -- almost a mini-magazine! I've not seen that on any other cruise line that we've sailed.
If anyone has a copy of the one-page navigators, can you please post? TIA!

I too posted on the other thread, and in brief am not happy about the change - we really enjoyed the full Navigator and found it great. Similar to Princess Shmoo we don't like to have our device all day, nor did I find the app that easy .and too not everyone has a phone. A highlight of our bedtime routine was having room service grabbing their Navigator and going through it and we would plan our next day. Sad...

I believe what it is is just the one page grid insert that's already available in the Navigator.

This is great news! The app is fantastic and there is no need to waste all that paper. A one-page Navigator should work just fine for those that don't do apps, in that it will still have the grid with all of the activities for the day. However, there are sure to be those that are just looking for something to complain about.

It's this page with the timetable on the back.

What more do you need? That's the info I need. All the other stuff was pictures and fluff that few people read. Heck, I read everything, and I managed to miss important things because the pages surrounding the grid are so busy.

And what's funny about "blaming" the app for this change is that the info they are giving on paper *is in the app*. The other stuff generally isn't. So it's hardly a situation where they are replacing the navigator with the app.

..."elephant soccer"? That's a new one!

Is the backside printed with dinning times and options plus times for shops, pool extra? That's one of the main things we used the navigator for other then activities. And I'm. It seeing any of that on this side.

its on the other side

Onboard the Magic now and the dinner menu theme no longer appears on the Navigators or app. The drink of the day is now only listed in the app. I used to enjoy reading the activity highlights in the full Navigator version. The Anyone Can Cook menu item is only listed in the tiny print on the paper. Activities sometime lack embellished descriptions.

Also, turndown chocolates are now DCL branded Ghirardelli milk chocolate instead of the generic milk in the Sleepy wrap.

I am not sure what my reaction is to this. I mostly just look at the hourly schedule and I also like the app. But there's kind a fun magic about the paper version, IDK, hard to explain. I think I'm more sour over the loss of the grape pizza than this.

I actually like having the one page insert. Very easy to carry around although I like having the app. I take my phone as it is my camera so I always have it with me. Also the app worked much better for texting than it did last year. The back page still has all the dining hours and other information. I love looking at the full page of events but also marking them on the app.

The one page is all I need. I always found the rest with the detailed descriptions either repetitive from day to day or just unnecessary.
