New "Official" Frozen: 2015 Frozen Summer Fun June 17 to Sept 7!

Any word on what time the fireworks will start at HS?

What about for JTA signup during FSF? Any advantage of having the ADR for it, or even a disadvantage of having it? Trying to find a way to be up near front of pack and not have my kids sitting at turnstiles for an hour if possible. (Hopping out of park to AK for rest of morning afterwards).

We did the H&V breakfast last summer for the JTA advantage. While it's still advantageous, H&V is not as advantageous as it is outside of FSF. Basically, the H&V reservation will help get you a spot right at the JTA rope in the area where they'll hold you for the opening show. When the show is over and they allow you to proceed to the signup area, you'll still have to jockey for position and make sure you keep the herd behind you. We were right on the rope right beside the person holding the JTA signup sign, and thanks to people who were pushing and shoving and running, we ended up about 15th in line. This is still much, much better than the non-H&V people, who wound up at the back of the herd. We still managed to get signed up for JTA in about 5 minutes, vs. the hour or more people at the back of the herd had to wait.

Here's what I've read so far:

FSF dates are June 17 to Sept 7.

The package is available all dates EXCEPT July 4th and July 15. (Could this mean another Villain's party on the 15th?)

Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome begins at 10:30am (last year it began at 11am.

Check in for the Premium Package is 9:30am by Min and Bill's Dockside Diner. After 11:30, you can check in at GS.

The dessert party begins at 8:15pm June 17 to August 20th.

The dessert party begins at 7:45pm August 21 to Sept 7th.

The Premium Package include:
-reserved parade viewing, non-alcoholic beverages and snack
-you may choose 1 For the First Time in Forever a Frozen Sing-along showtime. (It's first come first serve and there are limited seats for each show.)
-reserved viewing for the fireworks, including a desserts and beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Last year, the rule of thumb for fireworks time was 15 minutes prior to park close the fireworks began.

lovethatthink - thanks for the update.

Question - my party of 10 (which includes 4 girls ages 9 & 6 who all love Frozen have booked the Fantasmic Dinner package for a Saturday night during our July trip. It is my understanding that the dinner package gives your access to the first Fantasmic show of the night. Will we have time to see Fantasmic and then enjoy the dance party & fireworks from the reserved viewing area??

If there are two F!, it's definitely easier to see the fireworks then go to F! There were mixed reviews from people last year about firework viewing after the 1st F! You cannot see the fireworks from Sunset Ave. So you need to get to Hollywood BLVD or the Echo Lake area to see them. By the time you get out of F!, Hollywood BLVD will be filled with guests.

I just booked too....Did the parade start at 11 last year?

Yes, last year it started at 11, this year 10:30.

Do we know what time the dessert party will start? What about the time for the fireworks? I hope we get a little lanyard thing like last year. I still have ours!

Yes, 8:15pm June 17 to Aug 20 and 7:45pm Aug 21 to Sept 7th.

What does this mean? Is this a meet and greet?

  • See Anna and Elsa in the reserved viewing for Frozen Royal Welcome, complete with regal refreshments—water, a selection of soft drinks, and ice cream

It means you will see them with your eyes. No M&G.

YAY all booked. Were there alcoholic drinks available for the dessert party last year and if so were they the ones from the stands or something different?

Yes, there were at the dessert party. In my siggie, there is a link to my TR that includes two different days of doing the package. It's called Yes, I want to build a snow man.

Assuming they have the morning welcome show and rope drop, you would need to have a breakfast time that would get you to the rope before the general public gained access. Even so, it was a mass exodus from the rope to JTA. Same can be said of TSMM at rope drop.

I am looking for advice on the Summer Frozen Fun Package. We didn't go to WDW last summer so this will be our first exposure. We already have ADRs for Fantasmic on the Sunday of our trip. Does it make any sense to do both the Fantasmic dining package(our lunch reservation is at 12noon) and the Summer Frozen Fun Package on the same day? Can you attend the first showing of Fantasmic and then make it over to the Dessert Party on time prior to the fireworks?

Our only other option is to go back to Hollywood Studios the next day after going to Animal Kingdom in the morning (a half day park for us). But, then we miss the Frozen parade in the morning, right?

Please help!

Personally, I would not do both packages in one day. Maybe someone can chime in who did both? Depending on your dates, the firework dessert party starts either at 8:15 or 7:45 depending on the date.

Where are the best spots to watch the Frozen Fireworks if you don't purchase the premium package?

The best spot to see the fireworks is outside the park by the Mickey Topiary where the Christmas tree would be located if it were the holidays, however, no sound is piped in.

I like viewing it around Echo Lake.

The show is designed for best viewing on Hollywood BLVD.

Any word on what time the fireworks will start at HS?

Last year the rule of thumb was 15 minutes before park closing time.

That's a great question. Earlier in a DPB there was mention of 2 processionals. The only one confirmed was 10:30am. That would be another good question to ask on DPB.
it doesn't look like she's answering anything...I hope there are 2 parades, but it sounds like it's just stopping twice along the parade route

Could very well be. Although one of the DBP posts from March said, "Frozen Royal Welcome – Twice each day, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff take part in a festive cavalcade throughout Hollywoodland, accompanied by the Royal Arendelle Flag Corps and a flurry of skaters, skiiers and ice cutters – along with lovable snowman, Olaf. Anna leads the procession in a beautiful horse-drawn sleigh, with Elsa gliding by on a stunning, ice palace float. The entire procession pauses twice along the route in tribute to these visitors from Arendelle, as everyone in Hollywoodland is invited to join in singing “Let It Go!”"

The Echo Lake spot was in front of Hollywood and Vine and 50s Primetime Cafe. The Hollywood Boulevard spot was a little farther back from Keystone Clothiers.

Could someone clarify FSF for me.... Are those functions that you can only see and do if you purchase the ticket? I vaguely remember this from last year, but since we were not going to be there when it was going on, I did not follow the info... This year we will be there in August. I am trying to understand why I would pay $280 for my family to see this... do you just get a special section closer to the front to view from?? I am trying to understand what the value of buying tickets does for me? Do you get a discount if you have AP's or DVC?

Is it true that fastpass+ is not available for the sing along in the summer, only September? I read somewhere that in summer months to just show up at the kiosk and get sing along tickets for whatever show time is available that day.

So can you get into the sing along in June without purchasing the premium package? I purchased the premium package for June 17, then decided to cancel it and get fastpasses for the singalong, but they will not come up on MDE. And when I called Disney, they said the only way into the singalong on 6/17 is to purchase the package, there are no walk up tickets. For some reason, that doesn't sound right. I haven't cancelled yet, but I am starting to think it is not worth the money when all we really want to see is the sing along. Please help! I am so confused.

None of the Frozen Summer Fun events require a separate ticket, they're all included with a park admission at DHS. What does cost extra is the premium package, which gets you preferred seating at the parade and one singalong, plus a dessert party with a viewing area for the fireworks.

Things are getting weird with the availability calendar for the singalong (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=835236) it now shows all of June as "closed," meaning FP+ reservations are unavailable. We'll know more as we get closer to those dates.

The package is not necessary, just something really cool to do. The parade, fireworks, and sing-along are free and available to everyone. You just have to find your own viewing spot and either wait in standby or get a FP+ if it's available to see the sing-along. You can buy your own drinks and snacks that are Frozen themed. The only think you wouldn't get on your own is reserved viewing and the dessert party.

The sing-along will be changing location in June. MDE for FP+ lists it as closed starting June 1. But the show will definitely be showing for FSF.

This makes me want to skip it! When I hear the word HERD it just sends shivers up my spine.

Thanks - It is our first time doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package for the reserved seating and I thought that with the Fantasmic Dinner Package we could only see the first show. We really enjoyed the Frozen Premium Package last year and we are trying to work it into our existing schedule.

Thanks for all the updates!! It is very helpful. :thanks:
