*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Sigh... I do believe my 5 yr old has fifth's disease. I know there are worse things and she seems past the contagious part, but the rash looks terrible. I hope the rest of us don't catch it..... we leave Friday.

Bleh I remember that with my son when he was 5. Not fun. I hope she feels better soon and you guys don't catch it. If it makes you feel better my son didn't pass it to any of us that time.

Even though we've been getting "stuff" as the days go by. This weekend (02/08-09-10/2013) is our "shopping to get stuff we need" weekend. After that, the pre-trip itinerary goes something like this:

  1. We'll have our bags packed by Wednesday the 13th.
  2. On Thursday the 14th we'll unpack them to remove the stuff we don't ~really~ need:rotfl2:and repack them for real. :thumbsup2
  3. Friday morning on the 15th, I'll pick up the rental car. Once home, I'll hand the keys over to my DW.
  4. My DW will coordinate getting my DD and the three grand-kids to our house. My DW and DD will load the rental car.
  5. At some point, while Number 4 is taking place DW will dismiss me and I'll head for bed as I have the first shift of driving when we head out later that night (around 10:00pm-ish).
If all goes well Saturday the 16th sometime in the afternoon-ish, we'll be pulling up to the Classic Hall, then heading into the check-in lobby. :yay:

Sounds like a great time with the extended family, Bearadise! We have done our original packing, and I am the same way, we'll unpack the unnecessary stuff this weekend. We love POP; it's a great resort for the big family trips.

6 days for us! Can't wait to be at the Swan and soak in the Disney Boardwalk atmosphere.

Only 2 more sleeps till we leave!!! Packing, planning, and cleaning are done so now I'm kinda bored. Nothing to do but wait till Friday afternoon. :(

I've read just about every thread on these boards and I've even watched youtube videos of Disney rides. I'm out of things to do.

We're on our way now! Who's ready for a 9 hour drive?! ME!✌

In case anyone was still looking, March Dessert party reservations are open!!

Thank you! Hopefully it will skip the rest of us. I do not ever remember having fifth's and there is no one to ask if I ever did. :confused3 My neighbor had it and she was sick for weeks with aches and pains. DD is happy as can be and it isn't bothering her one bit. She's at school and it's (silly) business as usual at home!!

Packing and such today.... we leave Friday... the day after tomorrow!! :cloud9:

I'm getting nervous about this nor'easter -- our flight is supposed to take off Friday 7:05 a.m. and I'm praying we get off the ground and safely land in Disney. Ughhh now I remember why I hate traveling in the winter so much. :sad2:

We leave in 21 days!!!! we JUST booked our flight yesterday as we were hoping for better fares and it paid off! We'd been watching airfare for several wks and were checking yesterday around 1:30 (today was our D-day that we wanted to book by) but still $500+. I checked again at 4pm and they dropped almost $150 so we grabbed them! Also booked earlier flight so should be in Orlando by 10:30am!!! Getting so excited!!!

I think you will be ok. I am in Jersey as well (Central) and we are not expecting much. Unless you are in Northern Jersey then there is a bigger chance. But by morning I think you will be fine and no delays.
I have the same fear with us leaving in 20 days. Stay away snow!!!!
Have a great trip.

20 Days for me and my girls! :yay:

All Star Movies. 2/26 thru 3/6.

I read a funny ecard yesterday...

Waiting for your trip to Disney to get here is like....NOPE there is nothing slower. :rotfl2:

Picked up my packet from the TA this morning...I was grinning from ear to ear. She gave me my Magical Express stuff, and plane tickets, and vouchers...and then brought out Mickey ears, a Mickey photo album, and some chocolate for us. It was awesome! Seems like forever until Feb 27...I'll be one of the last ones here! :)

LOVE this quote and soooo true. We are 2/24 to 3/2 at Music! :wave2:

So now that we have booked the dessert party on our last full day, I'm at a loss of how to eat that day. :) Fireworks are very early that day (8 pm), so the dessert party is at 7pm. We had planned on doing BOG CS, but that closes at 230. That will probably work, but will still need to use one more CS for DDP. We don't usually eat breakfast, but I don't want to have any leftover credits either.

Anyone have any breakfast CS that they like? At any location?

We really enjoyed Wolfgang Puck Express for breakfast in DTD. We also like Sunshine Seasons for breakfast.

I can't really think of anything in MK though.

We're hoping the snow stays away too. Have a 9:30 AM flight out of JFK on Sat. We're closer to Newark but the flights out of JFK were much cheaper and I figured what are the chances that it'll snow on that day after not having any major snowstorms for the last couple of years. I guess you can blame Murphy's Law.
We'll keep our fingers crossed

P.S. We're also celebrating the big 50 for DH this trip (a couple of months late.) Have a Happy Birthday:bday:

If it makes you feel any better if you go in the summer you just obsessively watch for hurricanes:rolleyes1
That's why I like Southwest and Jetblue. If I see something coming I can change flights and only pay the difference in fare.
Our trip in February of 2011 would have been delayed by a snowstorm. We watched the weather, saw it coming and changed our flight before they announced anything. The flight we switched to was cheaper, we grabbed a night at a value resort with my pin code and left a day early. Not ideal but work was understanding and we had a few more hours we could take.

I'll think good thoughts for you. I'm sure we'll be worried about the weather at the end of the month too.

Got our spots for the 3/3 dessert party at 7:20p! :cheer2: It's my birthday and our last day there.

We have a 5:30p CRT res so we probably won't eat too much, but I figure that we'll be sitting on the curb waiting for the fireworks anyway so we might as well eat dessert and drink hot chocolate if we feel like it!

Congrats!!!
I was so close to booking one for 3/1. It's our last day there before we move to Universal. Then I remembered that A) we plan to move over to Universal in the morning and B) I am on a diet and planning to go somewhere where there is nothing but dessert is probably a poor plan:rotfl2:
Eat a cookie for me:thumbsup2
