Im thinking of getting my sister and BIL something Disney related for Xmas, since they're meeting us down there. I see gift cards can't be used in the parks. Do they have disney dollars for that (or something like that??)
Worked both my retail jobs today. I'm considering quitting my 2nd job, it's just too much and i've been sick twice the past month. (and i'm rarely sick) but i gotta hold out til i at least get/pay for our park tickets. AND then our passes for discovery cove. i can do it, i can do it... Who else has a second job to pay for their trip?

I have the BEST second job to pay for our trip, I'm a CM at the Disney Store!!

There are separate gift cards that can be used in the parks. You just have to look for the right logos. They say Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, etc on the back. Just the Disney Store ones can't be used in the parks.

Are the gift cards for the parks available online somewhere? Or only at a Disney Store?

Yes, they can. If you click where it says "Do you have questions?", it says:

"Can't decide what to give? Give the gift of Disney Magic with a Disney Gift Card. It can be used at Disney Stores across the U.S., online at DisneyStore.com, as well as select locations at Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort and Disney Cruise Line®."

These are Disney gift cards, not only Disney Store.

We are all booked for POR and best part is it's my bday the 6th and my twins the 7th and better yet it's Mardi Gras here so minimal school missed!

The kids are so excited and are an age where they love to plan. My biggest challenge right now is trying to snag a Be Our Guest reservation, I try couple times a day and will not give up!

Look forward to seeing who all is going the same time as us.

Keep an eye on the February Cancelled ADR thread over at the Restaurant board. Everyone cancelling an ADR will post about that there and you might have luck snagging their time slot.

I have found that I am talking to myself a lot on mine, but it helps my marriage to have this outlet, especially when DH can't take one more word from me about the trip. He gets interested about a week or so out from the trip and just does not understand the need to plan in advance for places and things we might want to enjoy while we are there.

I found that showing him my trip report about a week out from our trip in January was the best way to clue him in on our plans.

That being said, I get a little thrill any time someone new posts on mine.

Too funny! My husband is the same way. He's never been to WDW and thinks this will be a kids vacation, rather than a family vacation. I started planning early and am so glad that I did to wait for discounts, get my ADRs 180 days out, and reading the latest Liners book. I am surprised at how planning for this vacation has been entertaining and educational for me, I can't help but want to share the good news. I think once we get our documents, it'll seem more real to him.

I do have that thread on subscription, so that aspect is covered I figure people may commit or cancel at the 45 day package balance date. Worse case is I'll keep my Ohana ressie and do BOG on our NEXT visit

Thank you for saying this. I feel very educated after planning our trip last January. There is so much information out there and I tend to read it all. And then read it again!

I just looked at DH today and said "OK, I just assume any changes I make now you'll be okay with because once we are there you will just ask me what we are doing, right?" And then I changed an ADR.

What Disney related thing you'll be doing for the holidays?

I'll be doing a lot of Holiday related Disney stuff, as I plan for the big Christmas morning trip reveal! Right now I am thinking of doing a treasure hunt for the kids with the "treasure" being a large wrapped box with mylar balloons in it with the words "We're Going to Disney" attached to them! I also have autograph books to make for each kid and a countdown calendar to put in the box. I have already picked up quite a few Disney gifts, including monogrammed fleece coats from the Disney Store online I am so beyond excited to tell them! Keeping secrets is not one of my strengths!

I ordered my Photopass Plus CD today. I was worried I would forget to do it before the 14 day mark out from our trip.


Like I won't be counting every single minute until we go.

I figure we will get our money's worth out of it thanks to doing Pirates League, hopefully doing Jedi Training Academy, eating at 1900 PF and wanting ride photos on Buzz, and others.
