Me too!!! I desperately want to go for the holidays and almost did this year. We ended up changing our minds though because February was less crowded, less expensive and it just made more sense.
I am seriously thinking of planning a Christmas break trip next year because apparently I am crazy
I would have a whole year to get things the day they opened up (like ADR's and Candlelight processional etc). It would also be a surprise for the kids. I'd love to have them find out on Christmas morning that they were leaving the next day! Or maybe we'd go in early December. That's so hard with the kids in school though.

As it stands though I am very excited for this February trip!

Oh that's nice. I'm not that crazy to go Christmas week (my extended family would kill me). But I am planning the first week, like Dec 4th-12th; I'm toying with the idea of a short cruise too!! Planning and dreaming helps pass the time! lol

Yes! I have two modes. I am either on a Disney trip or planning a Disney trip.
We've kicked around the cruise idea too. Maybe do a 10 day trip with a 4 day cruise and 6 nights at the parks. That would take a lot of planning and saving but it would be wonderful. I almost look at Christmas week like a planning challenge. We've been enough that we'd be fine with not doing and seeing everything. But then reality hits when I see those pictures and I change my mind. I have a daughter in high school who just can't miss that much school though.

What kind of phone do you have? I just searched 'Disney countdown' and it was the first one in the Android Play Store. I'm sure the App store has the same stuff! Download, fill out, stick on your home page, and watch the days tick by in slow agony

Yay! Congrats! I desperately want to stay in the royal rooms, but alas, we have 5 people. So Alligator Bayou it is!

I am going to be at Pop century from February 1-5 for a solo on site trip for the first time ever. Last year was with mom and I'm looking forward to it.

I've always thought of doing a TR or a PTR, but I guess I'm afraid no one will care or read it! LOL.

I wish we could upgrade to POR! This will be our first trip on a cash reservation (we are DVC), so it's scary thinking about trying to save the money for the rooms, but POR is my cash reservation dream!!

Im thinking of getting my sister and BIL something Disney related for Xmas, since they're meeting us down there. I see gift cards can't be used in the parks. Do they have disney dollars for that (or something like that??)
Worked both my retail jobs today. I'm considering quitting my 2nd job, it's just too much and i've been sick twice the past month. (and i'm rarely sick) but i gotta hold out til i at least get/pay for our park tickets. AND then our passes for discovery cove. i can do it, i can do it... Who else has a second job to pay for their trip?

There are separate gift cards that can be used in the parks. You just have to look for the right logos. They say Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, etc on the back. Just the Disney Store ones can't be used in the parks.

I don't have a second job, but I keep volunteering for weekend work. I volunteered for tomorrow, and now I'm sitting here regretting it!! I just have to keep focused: pay for trip, pay for trip...

I'd read a PTR, even though I've got that same fear about no one wanting to read.

No second job here, but keep going! You'll get there! I just got back from volunteering at the local theater where a dance company is putting on The Nutcracker. It's a great way to kick off the holiday season! Not sure what Disney things we'll be doing for Christmas aside from watching 'Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas' and any other specials they have on Disney Channel/ABC Family. Oh oh, the one with the elves for sure. 'Prep and Landing'?

I have found that I am talking to myself a lot on mine, but it helps my marriage to have this outlet, especially when DH can't take one more word from me about the trip. He gets interested about a week or so out from the trip and just does not understand the need to plan in advance for places and things we might want to enjoy while we are there.

I found that showing him my trip report about a week out from our trip in January was the best way to clue him in on our plans.

That being said, I get a little thrill any time someone new posts on mine.
