*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

If it is any consolation, Roger's voice just isn't the same anymore. In fact, he had some measure of difficulty finishing the concert I went to earlier this year. (Tommy) He can still twirl a mic though. : ) :thumbsup2

I've heard, but one of those bands I have to see before they're all gone!! However, regaining my sanity is more important.

I'm getting in a little late, but we'll be at All Star Sports February 9-15. Big Mardi Gras trip!!

I'm afraid to ask :scared:...what's FP+? Going end of Feb.

Have you heard that WDW is converting from paper tickets and/or key cards to wrist bands? The wrist bands will get you into the room, into the parks, and store your photopass numbers from what I understand. But shortly after they are going to implement "FastPass Plus" that will also be stored on the band. Basically instead of the standard fastpass system you would pre-schedule a few rides each day before you leave. You can't use it with the standard fast passes either, once you decide to go for one system you lose the other. But you can use your fastpass allotment for special seating at shows now too. The rumor is that eventually the regular fastpass system will go away. Anyways it's highly debated and I'm curious to see how it will shake out, but I'm nervous about trying something new right before our trip :confused3

We'll be flying down 2/23-2/28 and are staying at the CBR.

Ditto to days and resort!! If u see a family of 5 where the oldest daughter looks exactly like mom, me, middle daughter like dad with curly hair, and ornery toddler boy who looks like both...say hi haha!!!

There were too many posts to quote!

Yes, I might need a chiropractor...After Disney. I'm looking at all things Disney lately (Laptop, Kindle, iPhone, Desktop). :surfweb: Plans made months ago and now at the 11th hour, I think of a million and one things after reading these posts.. Breathe!

1st trip to Disney in over 15 years. Celebrating DD 5th birthday. Checking weather daily. Checking crowd levels daily. Checking menus to see if any changes. Practicing breathing techniques...Emails starting to cause mild panic attacks. Just kidding... A little.. Dreading another closer or refurishment. Sad about Mad Tea Cups and Disney Junior Live, not sure about Festival of the Lion King (closing) due to new Avatarland... :confused3 Then friends decide to come to celebrate birthday. TA informs us all value & moderate resorts are booked 2/4-2/9. :confused3 I know various cheer events going on over the course of several weekends in February, crowd levels haven't changed, 3-5. So what's going on?

23D until I'm at the happiest place on earth. Breathe...Do not want to be like Clark Griswald in National Lampoons Vacation...

Is my ticker broken? Why not 3 days. :rotfl2:

Gosh! (said in best Mickey voice) Take a few days to recoop and everyone explodes with Disney excitement! Not that I'm complaining :thumbsup2

Ahh feel better soon. I had it last week and spent my time writing lists of which rides my kids will want to go on at which parks and what time & where to find their favorite characters!!
I have never been so organised in my life!! :rotfl:

That sounds like an A+ way to entertain yourself while sick. My dad's finally "in the right mindset" for Disney (where did I go wrong with him :sad2:) so I spent most of my couch time answering questions for him.

For those of you ordering"stuff" to be delivered to the resort...where are you ordering from and how long before your arrival date do you plan to order???

We've never ordered before but someone suggested Gardengrocer.com. It looks pretty reasonable when compared to a $30+ trip to Walmart and back.

What types of snacks do you pack for the park?

Mini Sunmaid Raisin boxes!! One: I love raisins; two: they're great to share and fit well into a carrying bag; three: they keep me hydrated enough while walking around the parks. They're usually pretty easy to find in a 15-ish-count package at the local market. My mom plans on packing her own 'trail mix' blend, too.

Has anyone ever been the last week of Feb.? The crowd levels don't look bad, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this week?

YEARS ago, but it's one of our favorite weeks to be there. The weather is just warmer enough from the cold PA air and we get back in time that it starts warming up around here. Plus it's my folks' birthdays. There were a few crowds but never anything unmanageable.

Just chiming in....I'm also from Northeast PA (Wyoming County!) I guess there ARE a lot of us, must be we all feel the same way about Pennsylvania weather in February!

::yes::::yes::::yes:: This Northwest PA-er feels the same way as Northeast about the weather. Except I do love snow. I just also like to escape it for a week.

Woo Hoo! I love doing stuff just because. Had a miserable day at work last Friday and I decided that I needed a Disney fix. Booked a trip for 2/23-2/28!!!

Welcome aboard, Mr. Toad! We'll be overlapping but staying in the new Cars Suites. I hope you get the R&R you're looking for.

OMGoodness!! Only 20 days to go?!?! So many things to do, and so little time to get them done! Have a magical day everybody! =)

Any of you travel with an infant before? I will have a 5 month old this time and not sure what to do when it comes to meal times. She really can't sit in a high chair yet and read that some restaurants will not allow a stroller in. Do you think I should bring her infant car seat to keep her in and then just bring that into the restaurants to put on top of the high chairs? :confused3 Not sure what to do here! It will be a pain to bring on the buses but I know she will sleep better in that also as compared to just being in the stroller.

Lion King isn't closing, at least not while we are there in February. :)

The championships run on the first and second weekends of February. They fill CBR and the All Star resorts. A lot of families will stay all week, making a vacation out of it. The reason the crowds aren't bigger is because they are involved in their events during the day.

You need to get a ticker that lists your days, not your weeks, like mine. ;) 24 days for me. :woohoo:

Not sure if you are referring to TS restaurants above but just wanted to let you know that even some CS restaurants won't allow strollers. That being said....I have never been with an infant that could not sit up yet to use the high chairs so I cannot offer advice. I am sure someone on here can help...and if not on this thread you can check out the "families" thread for help. Good Luck!

yes, accuweather.com does 25 day forecasts. constantly changing!! in fact Feb 3 changed from overcast to sunny already!! haha.
I love snow, too. got a few more inches of snow overnight. I cannot wait for a break from it though!!

Sounds great! There are 4 of us, myself, DW, and two sons 13 and 11. Older looks like an exact copy of me. I most likely will be a very serious looking guy with very gray and brown hair...but with a Disney shirt on. I know that doesn't narrow it down much. Hopefully we will bump into each other there. We have never stayed at CBR before and are very excited. We'd always heard it was a huge resort, and very busy, but we've never stayed there and want to check it off the list. Lets keep our fingers crossed for smooth travel days down. Winter weather looms for us on this trip.:thumbsup2

OP- jannel80 ...I feel so left out, I've posted twice to say the dates and added we were staying offsite, but I wasn't added to list..:sad1:;)
