I second that! Come join us at magic kingdom while we frolic unencumbered by football fans! I figure it could be busy in afternoon, but have plan to take hubby monorail riding during afternoon. In early, ride the mountains and Peter Pan, then some quick line favorites like pirates and haunted mansion, then monorail monorail monorail, lunch at contemporary cafe quick serve as DH has always been fascinated by building with monorail going though and never seen it, then back to the park during the game.

Lost my last vague interest in Super Bowl once the Internet made the Budweiser Clydesdale commercials available online!

Also, the dance competition kids will be having special event at HS, so figure they won't be at MK.

Katie

Thanks so much, unless Atlanta makes the Super Bowl we will be there on Super Bowl sunday

I wasn't sure if you're post was asking for dining recommendations at Potterland , or just in general. We have been twice. Three Broomsticks is pretty good food. We've had breakfast and lunch there. Both were good. If you only want one, I would do lunch. Yummy. And of course, don't forget the butterbeer. :) We didn't eat anywhere else but there. I'm a Potter nerd. Loved the atmosphere there! :wizard:
WWoHP @ IoA is awesome. Unless something has changed, breakfast @ Three Broomsticks is for Universal resort guests only.

Lion King isn't closing, at least not while we are there in February. :)

The championships run on the first and second weekends of February. They fill CBR and the All Star resorts. A lot of families will stay all week, making a vacation out of it. The reason the crowds aren't bigger is because they are involved in their events during the day.

You need to get a ticker that lists your days, not your weeks, like mine. ;) 24 days for me. :woohoo:
Thanks for the info. I needed clarification in the FoTLK. Also, now Tea Cups will be open? Magically Speaking email now saying HS Beauty & Beast Live will be closed(Jan-Mar). Do you have any updates on these? Some of my emails say closed 1/7 for week, some say will close 2/7 for week. 22 days.

I'll work on my ticker now.

Hey guys! So excited about our trip from 1-7 Feb! We had initially decided to do Disneyland again. Bought southwest tickets 8 months ago and booked the hotel, but luckily hadn't bought park tix yet. On NewYears Eve I decided to check to see what rides would be closed and stuff and I couldn't believe my eyes. The list was so long and included things that were closed LAST Feb when we went. The list included BTMR, SM, IASW, and the tea cups, plus Fantasmic still wasn't running. I actually enjoy that show at DL because its more like a water parade, and it was down last year when we went. So we decided to come explore the new FL instead of Cars Land , and I was happy to find some discounted POP days still open on the day the discount ended! Unfortunately I couldn't squeeze a whole week out but that's ok. I got the ADR's I wanted and even got DD into the pirate's league. I was so worried because we were planning so late! But that's the beauty about going in early Feb I guess. The reason we like to go then is because our school district gets out the first 3 days during the first full week in Feb every year for a teacher's conference. We'll leave after she gets out on the 1st and she'll just miss a day of school, yey! So anyways I just wanted to do the happy dance now that we're all paid up and planned. We'll be in MK on Monday and Epcot Sunday if anyone's around! Now I just have to hope FP+ doesn't come into play until AFTER our trip. I'm not opposed to it's a rule, just don't want to be a guinea pig! Lol

:cool1: :cool1:   :yay: :yay:

Moon Monday too!

Well shoot, we've missed that Beauty and the Beast show every time we went for one reason or another, I was really hoping to catch it this time. Let us know what you find out!

From the article that I read, you are correct. The tea cups will be open!

15 days for me!!

I read that too somewhere--that the teacup renovation has been cancelled. Does that mean it will be functional for us?

I thought it may be a typo and tat it will be open for us.

getting chilly here in ND, Blizzard Gandalf heading our way, with sub-zero temps, snow, and high winds. can't wait to get to warm Orlando :beach:. I saw the teacups were going to be open too, and told my wife- she was delighted :). she can't imagine going and not riding the teacups. I booked the tomorrowland desert buffet for wishes on friday night, but no openings for BOG that night. may have to do lunch there. We decided to do two days at Epcot (we did not get PHP) as it is totally new to us, and 1 day at MK (since we have been to disneyland numerous times), one day at DHS, skipping AK this time. And one day at US IOA to see harry potter world (my daughters absolute favorite princess:). Anybody got recommendations for dining there? Biergarten looks fun (however, we have been to a lot of german rest), my DD13 wants to go to Katsura
So my boss emails me and let's me know that I need to be in Richmond, VA on Jan 30th for a meeting. big kink in the plans. I was able to make arrangements to fly back thru O'hare, so I will meet my DW and DD there, and fly down with them on the second half of my current flight reservation. lot of logistics getting all this figured out- 10 flights, 4 different airlines- argh. since I also have a convention from the 6-8th, I will be away from home for 2 weeks. not sure if I can pack a carry-on for that long. done venting.........
20 days and counting. going to be a looong 3 weeks- but we can't wait. :hourglass

Sounds stressful!! A disney vacation well deserved!

Darn auto-correct! We'll see you there at MK on Monday.

Haha and here I thought there was something I needed to make reservations for! :rotfl2: We decided not to do MK Monday due to the superbowl parade. I think we'll do it Saturday and Tuesday. I want to catch the Electrical Parade and it's not every night yet :headache:

Accu weather Orlando,fl. Then click month

Thanks for sharing this as I've never used this site before. My new daily dose is to check the extended forecast and add the weather estimate to my travel calendar and update if the weather changes. So far they're posted thru Wed 2/5. While not 81 like today, I wouldn't mind a 68 sunny day.

Your welcome :)
It's just something else to check everyday and to stress about. I don't know what I'm going to do with all my free time after the trip is over :(

I've got to get my spreadsheets finished! I kept putting it off so that as it got closer I'd be so busy finishing them up the time would fly by!

Just booked 'Ohanna breakfast for our departure morning - super early. Hopefully mom will be on board. She's going to work the next day and we'll have a 15 hour drive ahead of us!

Just one last hoorah at my favorite breakfast place before I begin sobbing on the way out!
