*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Looks like I am one of the last too leave for Feb. :) We are leaving the 26th. Super excited. My dd's are so excited when they wake up each morning and yell out the count down :thumbsup2

We are booked for Caribbean Beach Resort for 2/23 to 3/2. We have the whole week of ADR.:cool1:

  1. 2/23 DINNER @ O'HANA
  2. 2/24 LUNCH @ LIBERTY TREE TAVERN
  3. 2/25 DINNER @ SAN ANGEL INN
  4. 2/26 CHARATER LUNCH @ HOLLYWOOD & VINE
  5. 2/27 DINNER @ CHEF MICKEYS
  6. 2/28 CHARACTER BREAKFAST @ TUSKERS
  7. 3/1 CHARACTER BREAKFAST @ OHANA

is EVERYBODY going to Disney on the 24th??? Seems like we all have the same "sleeps" left until we go! Wonder if this means it will be crowded........ oh well I don't care. Just happy happy happy to be going! ( I did see though that all of the crowd calendars have it at low-ish attendance)

I don't think it will be too bad. Crowd calendars look good. I think it's the last of the folks left to go in this thread that are still posting and we're all leaving sometime over that weekend. We fly in on the 22 (Friday night) and we're expecting a mob for our first park day because it will be the last day for Presidents week people but it should die down after that.
Now, I have noticed that it's always fairly busy these days but I am expecting moderate crowds after the 23rd. I'm still going to use a loose touring plan though.
The marathon will mess with traffic but it won't mess with Epcot that day. Once it's over most of those people will want to shower and change and eat and hit MK most likely.

We're leaving on the 23rd. We'll be in Epcot on the 24th :cool1:. I'm a little nervous about marathon crowds, but we want to hit this park twice and this day just worked out for us. I figure since we'll be there before 9, we'll get the big attractions done early and it won't matter too much if its crowded the rest of the day :). I can barely get through regular life now I'm so excited!

I read from 2 sources that the marathon should not really be a problem at Epcot for the weekend. They say they are just there to run and then most of them head over to MK. I hope that is true for you guys! I am still mulling over what to do when we arrive on Sunday. We will get there about 5pm, and my first desire is always MK, but it is an EMH night at the end of Presidents week...scary combo. Still, it is super hard for me to go anywhere else first. I just want to see that castle!!!

I really think it will be a good week. It is after heavy Presidents week and before spring break. I agree with you on the loose touring plan. We just went as a whole family last Jan (2012) so I don't feel as desperate to hit everything this time. It's just me and DD so we can navigate through stuff a little easier than the whole fam.

Which to share first, the good news or the bad news? (Good news, read 'a' first; bad news, read 'b' first.)

(a) The good news is my dad is slowly getting better and should be fine! We learn about all the things we need to do with him or changes in lifestyle and diet later today. He keeps asking me about Disney every day.

(b) The bad news is we have to postpone our big 'parents birthdays trip'. :worried:

We're hoping mid-April will work and the board will be as fun as you guys. Enjoy your trips and someone have a Lefou Brew for me! (As I watch the Disney World episodes of Full House and hope for early pixie dust.)

Awww. I'm so sorry you have to postpone!! On the brighter side, we loved April and I had a great thread to participate in last year!!

I'm sorry you are having to postpone but happy for you that your dad is doing better. We went the last week of April last year and it was a delightful trip with perfect weather. I hope you aren't too disappointed.

I'm going with my fiance this month were leaving Feb 27th! New to the board, love the site! I've been to Disney many times as a kid, stayed all over the property. The condos back in the 90's, Port Orleans, pop century, all star sports, shades of green (dad was military), and now this trip is my first time at Carribean Beach!pirate: Also, I'm proposing to my fiance, so a very exciting trip is ahead of me!

Good luck on the proposal, been to Disney several times, never stayed inside in a resort, but staying in the Caribbean Beach, hope to see you there.

We seem to always arrive the Sunday ending President's day week. Last year we went to MK for the EMH and didn't find it to be unbearably crowded..... and we HATE crowds. They really bring out the worst in people and the older I get the less patient I have become. We arrive on the 24th and will be going to MK that night again. Prior to Disney we are spending 5 days visiting my parents on the gulf coast. I just can't wait to be warm. Especially after having 2 feet of snow dumped on us this past weekend. Fingers crossed for beautiful weather!

I felt the crowds were "manageable". Not too crowded.... But I was not able to ride a certain repeatedly due to short or no lines ( as was my experience in Sept and Oct trips).

I made a mistake by NOT going to HS early. We were not able to do: TSM, Pirates, backlot Tour, Beauty & the Beast, or the Stunt show. My kids & I were pretty disappointed. Especially since we don't ride TOT or R&RC. It left very little for us to do.... But the lines were crazy by the time we got there (noon). Lesson learned.

We are heading to WDW on Valentine's morning (2/14-2/19)
Decided to try the new Art of Animation Resort while we are there. I saw several will be there at the same time as well. We will be there for the International Baton Competition with my daughter (15) and her team.

Our Dinner plans put us at Mama Melrose for the 14th with Fantasmic (please don't rain). 2/15 at Crystal Palace for lunch and Chef Mickey for dinner (there will be about 16 of us so we may be hard to miss...) about 8:20. 2/16 we will spend the day at Epcot and do Lunch at Chefs de France. That night the girls will be twirling LED lit batons in the electric light parade :). Then 2/17 is the competition and a little time at AK then the award ceremony at 7:00 in Hollywood Studios (the crowd will be high at HS that night withs 1000s of twirlers there!! (Be aware). Our final full day is probably going to be DQ since we will be exhausted, but not sure how exciting the place is...never been.

Holy smokes. 11 days to go - can't believe it's almost into the single digits! I haven't planned a bit for the oldest's bday party this weekend trying to finish up Disney plans! I don't think I ever posted my dining plans to see if anyone will be there:

2/23 - DTD Rainforest dinner
2/24 - Bfast at Tuskerhouse... din at Cape May
2/25 - Bfast at H&V... linner at MM
2/26 - Bfast at CP... dinner at BOG
2/27 - Bfast at Akershus... dinner at Coral Reef
2/28 - Bfast at Cape May.... dinner at Ohanna
3/1 - Bfast at Chef Mickeys... dinner at 1900 Parkfare
3/2 - Bfast 1900 Parkfare... dinner at Teppan Edo
3/3 - Bfast at Ohanna.... dinner at CRT.... dessert party
3/4 - Bfast at Ohanna (my fave!)

Bummer postponing the trip! BUT hooray for dad getting better! The nice thing is Disney will always be there and waiting for you!

Let's not jump the gun. She's not your fiance unless she says yes! :lmao:

JK! I'm sure it'll be great and memorable and OF COURSE she'll say yes! :D

Hey! We have the same food itinerary on 2/26. Although we are doing CP lunch and a late BOG. :) But we will be at MK all day.

Thanks. This is a good tip. We were going to do DHS at noon on arrival day, but I think we'll skip it and go to DTD or Typhoon lagoon (that day is the one day our weather is supposed to be 80+). We have another morning later in the week to do DHS.

We leave tomorrow, so I'm doing the frantic last minute packing thing. Most stuff is done, but it's always the little things that I tend to forget. All checked in for flights too!

We are also arriving that weekend, 23rd, also CBR. Thanks for all the tips on BOG. Hoping to have lunch one of our 2 MK days :) Praying for 2 things. .1. That none of us get the norovirus (winter vomiting bug) as people are dropping like flies around us! 2. That this "pipeline of storms" that accuweather predicts for the East coast, until end of Feb, doesn't interfere with our flight out!!

ACK.. what pipeline of storms?:scared:
I was hoping with the one we just had it would increase the odds of not seeing another for awhile. Wishful thinking I guess.
It appears if I am not travelling in snow storm season then I travel in peak hurricane season. Just call me an Extreme Dis'er:rotfl:
