New MyMagic+ 'Memory Maker' photography package begins Friday

Disney updated their terms and conditions today. The new terms contain a section on Memory Maker. I think it addresses people's questions about sharing.

MEMORY MAKER

•Memory Maker is non-refundable, except if purchased as part of a Magic Your Way vacation package. When purchased as part of a Magic Your Way vacation package, Memory Maker is subject to the cancellation and refund policies of the Magic Your Way vacation package.
•With the purchase of Memory Maker you will be entitled to download all photos associated with your Site/App account that were taken at Walt Disney World® Resort by Disney PhotoPass photographers, as well as photos taken on select attractions and photos taken at select dining locations during your Memory Maker window. You will also receive a limited license for personal, non-commercial use of the downloaded photos.
•If Memory Maker is purchased at the advance purchase price, then the Memory Maker window begins three (3) days after the date Memory Maker was purchased. If Memory Maker was purchased at the regular price, then the Memory Maker window begins the date your first photo is captured and includes all visible photos in your account at the time Memory Maker is purchased. The Memory Maker window ends on the 30th day at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time following the date any photo is first downloaded or you redeem your Memory Maker entitlement, whichever occurs first. All photos taken outside of your Memory Maker window must be purchased separately.
•Memory Maker entitlement may be linked to one (1) guest. Only the person who has the Memory Maker entitlement linked to their Site/App account ("Memory Maker Guest") can download photos taken during the Memory Maker window.
•Photos taken during the Memory Maker window must be downloaded before they expire. All photos will expire pursuant to the expiration policy at https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/help-and-support. MyDisneyPhotoPass.com does not offer options for permanent storing of photos. Expired photos will be deleted from the system.
•Memory Maker Guest must be present in order to get select attraction and select dining photos associated to their Site/App account.
•If other guests chose to share their photos taken during the Memory Maker window with the Memory Maker Guest via their Site/App accounts, then the Memory Maker Guest will have the ability to download those photos (photo sharing rules subject to change).
•Photos captured and sold by ESPN GameDay Photos, Wild Africa Trek photos, or photos taken by Disney Event Group (including but not limited to Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, group and convention photos and family portrait sessions) or third party operators at Walt Disney World Resort are not included in Memory Maker.
•Guests who purchase Memory Maker as part of a Magic Your Way vacation package or as an add-on to a Disney Resort hotel reservation must link their Magic Your Way vacation package reservation or Disney Resort hotel reservation to their Site/App account. Upon linking their reservation, Memory Maker will automatically be linked to the reservation's primary guest's Site/App account. Guests who purchase Memory Maker in any other manner are entitled to receive one (1) Memory Maker Card. You must link your Memory Maker Card number or confirmation number to your Site/App account in order to activate the Memory Maker entitlement.
•Your Memory Maker Card is a RF Device as defined in the "Radio Frequency Cards and MagicBands" section of these Terms and may be used to access certain other entitlements also linked to your Site/App account, such as park admission, FastPass+ selections and touch to pay (if available). You are responsible for keeping your RF Devices safe and secure.
•Memory Maker is intended for the personal use of the Memory Maker Guest. Solicitation and/or acceptance by the Memory Maker Guest of any consideration or remuneration from other guests for Memory Maker downloads is a violation of these Terms and the limited license and may result in removal of all images associated with the Memory Maker Guest's account.
•Disney PhotoPass service reserves the right to refuse to post or to remove photos of poor quality or photos with inappropriate or offensive subject matter in our sole discretion.
•Not responsible for missing, lost or damaged photos.

It seems to me that disers are really behind on technology. We have 3 newish apple computers in our home and not one cd drive (new apple computers do not come with a cd drive). It is obvious to me that the majority of people download the photos from Disney and other mass photographed events so there is no reason to offer cds. I run marathons and the photographers on site sell downloadable copies of you running. I don't think any of the races I have competed in in the last few months have had a cd option at all. Disney is not unique with the idea of no cds. In less than 5 years the CD/DVD medium will be gone the way of the VHS and cassette. Given your unique situation, that sucks! But I assume you could go to the photo pass store and explain to them what is going on and they will be able to burn you a cd. But I will say, I have downloaded our photo pass pics from the last three trips and the file format is disturbingly small. I had 150 photos downloaded in less than 30 seconds (I timed it). And they are all high-res. I am not sure how they compress them, but it really works well!

Not behind just downloading isn't what I prefer. We are replacing our Mac but wanted to wait until the fall bc my DD's school has specific requests. Our computer is on the fritz and will read but not burn cd's and it recently lost photos so I won't put anything of value on it. I don't want all the 300+ New photos on my tablet, iPad, smart phone or dh's work computer. They are already loaded with photos I take on them. In my area photographers let you download AND they give you a cd/DVD to keep the images on.

I haven't seen any mention of the special borders that you could add to the former Photopass photos. I really liked that feature.

Have you thought about buying an external hard drive, we have one that is 1 terabyte and we use it to back up our laptops because we lost two years worth of digital photos. It has been a life saver. It is fairly simple to use. We paid around $100 for it. It is peace of mind and it asks you to hook it up and back it up on occasion as a reminder on your computer.

does any one know if they have the regular photo pass pre purchase the one with out the + option i can't find it on the site any more all i see is the memory maker pre order for 149.00

That was never exclusive to pp+ and is still available.

Nope. Gotta return it and buy new.

Vouchers for PhotoPass+ will be honored.

So, if I take my pre-purchase PP+ voucher in on my arrival day, will I have to wait 3 days for activation if I exchange for MM? or will they take into account the fact that I met the 14 day deadline for PP+ and met the 3 day prepurchase date?

I bought PP+ back in October along with our vacation package. Will they still give me a CD? Also I hear others talk about getting extra cards. Will that still be available? We have two reservations. One for us and one of our children and the other is my parents and our other two children. Would it still possible to get two cards. We have not received anything in the mail yet just a confirmation of our package. Our trip ins not until May 2014.

There are no exchanges. PhotoPass plus cannot be exchanged for memory maker. You would need to return PhotoPass+ and purchase memory maker. To receive the prepurchased price you would need to wait three days for activation.

You would still get your CDs and you would still only receive one PhotoPass+ card. You are not supposed to get two.

oh sigh.... I'm so confused, again.
This is the first time we ever ordered PP+ and actually the first time we ordered PP in general. I am trying to understand how it works in general and now it is all switched up to MM.:confused3
When I ordered PP+ I received the CD - what on earth is that CD for? I hear it is stock photos... but what does that have to do it the pictures that will be taken of our trip 12/20-12/28? Will Disney send us a CD when I choose which photos I want to order? Do I use that CD to burn my photos onto? I'm sorry for all the questions, I thought I understood this but now I'm confused once again.

What is the difference with MM? It sounds about the same to me...:sad2:

so, if I am a guest off site: I can not take pictures with a photopass photographer and then decide if I want to buy it later? even at full price?
The ability to stand in line waiting to take pictures with professional photographers (and ask them to take a picture with our camera too) will be only for those who have Magic Bands (on site guest) or for those who have already purchased Movie Maker and have the "Memory Maker Card"?
:confused3

Anybody who is in the parks and can see if the Attractions+ package is still being offered? Just hoping with this new photo package they haven't eliminated that ...

Does anyone have an update on Attractions+? I'm wondering too if this option might have been eliminated....

Until your external drive goes. Been there, done that. The only *safe* way to guarantee is to have a separate hard copy.

The stock photo has a promotion code for a Disney PhotoPass archive disc which is what you order to get your photos. You get two CDs.

No. That's silly. PhotoPass is a complementary service available for all guests. PhotoPass ids aren't being eliminated.

Still available in the parks for the foreseeable future.

I might have missed this somewhere, sorry, but do you still get the prints of the photos taken at restaurants with memory maker? We have plans for dinner at Chef Mickey's and the Hoop De Doo and I was looking forward to walking away with the prints in my hand if I bought PP+.

No. Memory Maker is an all digital product.

So, for those who already pre-purchased PP+, will they still get PP+? Is it just not for sale anymore, and future purchases would be Memory Maker? Or if someone pre-purchased PP+, are they forced to convert it to Memory Maker now? I'm confused ...
