HELP! QUESTION REGARDING MB! We received out magic bands on the Nov. 15th but not going to Disneyworld until December 14th. I was looking at MDE site and accidentally activated my MB. What do I do? Are the Magic Bands good for only 14 days? I see a place where it says deactivate but I am afraid that if I do that, I may not be able to use it. I tried to call 800 number but they are close. Any help is deeply appreciated.

I believe all Magicbands are shipped already activated. That way you can use them right away like for Magical Express bus transportation at the airport. Deactivating them is only needed if you no longer want them or they are lost.

Just wanted to report that I was able to change unused fastpasses during and after the window. I had previously read you could only change before the window.

I was also able to change some headliners on the day of, but usually only afternoon times were available. I tried to book ETWB the day before and only one slot was available. These were during last week, with generally lighter crowds.

What does that mean? After the window?

If you have a living with the Land fastpass+ for 11:05-12:05 and you show up at the land at 10:50 and see that absolutely nobody is in line, you can try to switch your FP+ to different ride later in the day if anything is available.

During? Can you still switch your unused FP+ at 11:30?

After? Can you change an unused FP+ time after the window at 12:15?

Everything is fine. You do not need to do anything. Do you have a package booked with tickets? Have you made FP selections?

We tested MB's in August and again in October.

We were always able to change unused FP during our window and after our window expired, especially if you are talking about an attraction like Living With The Land. If you want to change it to Soarin mid day, you are probably out of luck. So if there is availability you can make changes to times and attractions.

Yes, if the FP+ was unused, I was able to change it during the return time and after the return time had expired. In the above situation, you could change at 11:30 and 12:15.

We just got our MB invite for our trip in January. My wife and I have our APs, but my daughters haven't purchased their tickets yet. The invite recognizes that there are four of us. So can we still do the FP+ even if we don't have all of our tickets?

No. MagicBands and FastPass+ are somewhat separate - you just currently get enabled for both at the same time.

You can customize the MagicBands for all four of you, and you can/will use them for DME, room key, charge to room, etc.

To make FastPass+ selections, you'll need a ticket registered and tied each of the people on the reservation in the My Disney Experience (MDX) web site/app. Otherwise you can only make FP+ selections for those who currently have tickets. It is possible to "mirror" selections to another person later if the ticket is assigned, even the day of park entry, although whether this will be subject to availability remains to be seen.

The MagicBand will be used to redeem your FP+, but that's about the extent of how they are tied together.

Right now, you only get MagicBands and can use FastPass+ by staying at a Disney-operated resort.

You can use FastPass+ on a limited test basis on the day of entry if you are staying at Swan/Dolphin (at least if that test is still running). No MagicBands though.

I'm planning on going to the Dolphin in June, considered "off site" for these purposes, so I have been keeping close eye on the discussions going on. That being said, I still don't have a clue what things will look like come June. I am currently assuming that FP- will be gone by then, and some type of FP+ will be be available to off site guests. It's unclear if this will be same day availability only (they are currently testing this at the Swolphin) or plan ahead reservations. Nobody knows...

If you have 7 day tickets on your band, they will not begin to be used until you physically enter the parks. My understanding is that MB's are considered activated once you customize them and have tickets attached to them anyways. Hope this helps. Don't worry!

My question is, on check in, do we still get the key cards (maybe that is the wrong term, but it's the only one I know) to get FP from the rides too? We sometimes will send someone ahead to grab for our entire party.

As of this very second, if you are staying at any Disney operated WDW resort EXCEPT Pop Century, you get a KTTW card as well that will get regular FP.

Pop Century guests are no longer getting the KTTW cards by default. If they opt out of MagicBands, they get a KTTW card but it still will not work in the FP kiosks.

There is no telling when this will roll out to other resorts. But eventually it will be FP+ only for resort guests (and eventually everyone else too...)

Right now every Disney resort (except Pop) is getting KTTW cards as well as Magicbands. This however could change at any time.

Staying at POP over Christmas. DW and I have AP but DD has ParkHopper purchased via UT. Have tickets linked to MB. My question is since we have AP and other Hard Ticket, will we be able to use those hard tickets to pull FP-? Already have FP+ reservations on the MBs.
