***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I am SO confused and hoping someone here can help me.

We are going with friends in April :grouphug:. I recently signed up on MDE, and the reservations for my family showed up. I made ADR's the other day, and manually entered my friend and her daughter in the ADR's since they are dining with us.

My friend signed up today. She said she entered us in family and friends but I haven't seen an invite, she may not have hit it.

When I go to My Family and Friends, everyone is listed - my DH, my DS and my friend and her daughter. However, next to each of them is an envelope icon with word Invite, and then right after that is says that "You manage this account" and an Edit button.

Only my friend and I have an account. She wants to manage her and her daughter and I want to manage myself and my family. I know we are not linked yet, it just grabbed their names from my ADR's, but how do I link our accounts so that we can make FP reservations together when the time comes? We just want to be able to copy so we can all ride at the same time. I guess we need to be able to link the ADR's as well, unless it is just needed on one account.

It has been so easy up to this point, but now I am stumped as to what I should hit :confused3! I want to make sure I don't do it wrong and end up on the other end of the phone with a very busy, stressed IT dept :sad2:.

Thanks
Carol

It took my fiancé and I to request each other. It worked once we both approved each other. No clue as to why.

We just wanted to keep two accounts, and not have to sign up our children

You don't have to create accounts for them. You already manage them. The "Invite" button is to invite them if they DO have a separate account (and as mentioned above, you both have to invite each other and accept the invite).

So you should invite your friend who has the account, and they should do the same, and you both need to accept the invite. Then your accounts will properly be linked.

Thank you so much :goodvibes! I will go invite her and ask her to invite me - it is kind of silly that both have to invite!

Now all we have to do in link our tickets and then sit and wait until February rolls around - hopefully everything will be on an even keel by then ! We have already planned the best times for our FP+, now just need to keep on following what is happening!

hoping someone can help me....

We will be visiting in early January. MDE is all set up and our reservation and ADR's are all linked. From my discussion with guest services on the phone, they anticipate everything will be out of testing phase and running for real by then. So I'm trying to make sure I have everything ready to go at 60 days out. (at 79 right now!)

When I click on the magic bands, it asks me if I would like to link a reservation, ADRs or tickets. But all my ADRs are already in MDE - do I have to manually add them to the wristband?

I have not yet purchased our tickets - I usually wait until we check in. However, I will do so if it's necessary to take advantage of FP+ and customizing our wristbands before we get there. So, is advance ticket purchase required for FP+ at 60 days?

I feel stupid asking these questions - it seems like such a straightforward system, but I'm totally lost.

You are too early. You can't customize magicbands until at least 60 days, and perhaps even less - depends when they activate the reservations at this point.

Once they do, THEN you can customize. And to make FP+ reservations in advance, you WILL need a ticket associated with your account.

It is *not* you! It is a straightforward system, but Disney isn't putting any straightforward information out there ... there is lots of speculation involved right now. You definitely have to have some type of ticket linked to your reservation before you can use the FP+ selections, though.

I think (my opinion) that once they officially roll it out and stop calling it a test, they will have set times that each thing happens and they will have that information on the website. Until then, it isn't the same for everyone, so there are no "right" answers.

Example: I'm checking in on Dec 8 and was able to do online check-in at exactly 60 days out, but nothing else. Then around 11 pm last night, most everyone with December check-in dates was suddenly able to access FP+ selections, and those within 60 days were able to customize magicbands. So for me, that part happened at 53 days, but for someone checking in on Dec 1, it would have been 43 days, and so on.

Just roll with it and check the DIS Boards and your MDE site daily, and one day it'll happen!

Ok, so on my first day in Disney with our magic bands can we go directly to the parks (we are driving) and be able to use the dining plan? or do we need to check into the resort first?

We got our MBs today! I love it, it's like opening a present!

Something we were wondering after trying them on. Seems like they could pop open fairly easily and be lost. So what happens if you lose them, especially if you have a credit card linked to them? I know it would kind of the be same as losing a key card. I guess I'm trying to decide if I should link my cc to the bands.

You cannot currently link a credit card directly to the bands. You link a credit card to your room for room charges, and you an use the Magic Band or KTTW card for purchases, just like before. However, you are now required to provide a PIN code for all purchases as well, so unless the person who took/found your MB/KTTW card also knows your PIN code, they won't be able to make any purchases.

You'd be more in trouble if you lost the credit card itself. :)

Disney has said that there will be "tap to pay" for non-resort guests that would go to a charge card, but the same requirements would apply. They probably would be handled similarly to a room charge as well...consolidate all the purchases into a folio tied to your DMX account, and then sent to the processing company as a single charge.

your bands will have a PIN number you would need to enter for any purchases so money wise you would be protected but yes they could access your FP+ & potentially your room, although unless they were stalking you would be hard to find out which your room was. report it immediately & they will deactivate them

I don't even know where to ask questions anymore.

I'm showing different FP+ times on the website and on the app, and in some places the app shows different times depending on what screen I'm on! Did anyone else have this issue? I have no idea where I'm supposed to be when.

Are you able to link a credit card to sepecific members on the reservation during the checkin process ahead of time? For example, I'm going with my sister in law. We'll have 2 different cards. Can we link this ahead of time, or is it still done in person checkin.

On-line check-in will only take one credit card and that will be used for all persons ages 10 and older. If you want to use multiple CC, the front desk can assist you.

Am I missing something? I am booked for a late January visit - FD package. I've got us all set-up on My Disney Experience and have my reservation linked. But, I cannot figure out how to set-up my Fastpass or MagicBands. Do I have to do something else?

You are too far out. You can't do anything yet until 60 days out, possibly less, depending on when they enable things.
