Someone on Ebay is auctioning an Orange stripe monorail playset. has anyone seen this out yet? I was just there in October, and they were still selling the lime green stripe.

Also, is there really a yellow stripe playset, or just people confusing the gold stripe?

There is an orange monorail set -it was just released. Many of the boxes also say "silver monorail" in error, however, lol. Also just released was the silver monorail playset-very hard to find, I only saw one on the shelf on Monday when I was there, although I'm going to look tonight, too. I think the yellow (or gold) is old, and discontinued, as is the blue. It's likely the green will be discontinued as well.

When we were there in Aug I wanted one so bad...they thought they would get more before we left, but no luck. I wanted to buy one set in the window but they wouldn't sell it to me:sad2: So I called the # on one of my receipts & ordered it. Didn't get a choice of color & was thrilled when it came & it was Green...my favorite color!!!!:cheer2: Anyway...I suppose if you want you you'd better order it b/c they were on backorder for quite awhile.

Yes, there are orange monorail sets. I know this for a fact because we just got back from Disney this past weekend and while there we were searching for a red monorail for underneath the Christmas tree. Well I did not find a red one but after searching many locations (MK, DD, Resort gift shops, and etc....) I did come across the following: a few orange and silver ones and a ton of green ones.

We settled for a silver one which should look nice beneath the tree. Any thoughts or comments on the red ones are appreciated.

My son has been asking for a Monorail Play Toy (sort of like a childs train track etc) How much is this Orange one or any advice when I go in a week and a half?

I believe the monorail playset is $72.95. You can also buy additional track for it. It comes with believe either 8 or 12 miniature figures (Mickey, Minnie, Lilo, Stitch, etc.) and has working headlights and sound.

I believe we saw the orange monorail train at the following locations last week:

1. At the Magic Kingdom in the toy section of the large store on Main Street

2. At the toy store at Downtown Disney

All other locations I checked only had the silver and green trains.

Hope this helps!

Both the Silver and Orange ones are now available at the Parks in both CA and FL now for $70 plus tax ($75.43 in CA).
If you ever need any info on these playsets, drop me a line, I am a huge collector of the retired playsets that hook up to it, not much I don't know about these. I even install high speed motors for some people that let them run at double the speed of the original sets (with motors made by the same company Disney contracted theirs from, just twice the RPM's)
The extra speed makes the scale model work so much better, let's face it, the Monorail doesn't travel at 5MPH like the original toy.
Regards

I was there last week and saw Orange, Silver, and even a couple Greens. It seemed like the Silver was the majority, but I saw a few of the others scattered throughout...

The Red was the first release in 1999, but isn't as hard to find as other colors since it was available for a couple of years.
The rarest in this order are Purple, Gold, Yellow, Black, Red and Blue. The green one will be retired shortly. The price if you are a collector goes by how hard the color is to find and if there's a box and it's condition of course.
Purple and Gold can run in excess of $150 on Ebay. The rides that can be connected to the tracks are Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, Mad tea Party, King Triton, Sunwheel, Orange Stinger and Golden Zephyr. There are many playsets out there to go with your theme park replica too.
A very fun hobby!

I have an old set from 2000 where the motor in the head car has stopped working. Do you have the model number of the motor you use? I would love to get it working again. Also, any tips you may have in replacing the motor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

are these available at the DVC resorts? Will be staying at SSR this August and wondered iof I will need to go over to a resort hotel or if they will have at SSR.
Also, does anyone know what year the Blue monorail came out and if it is series 1,2,or 3?

thanks,
don
