New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

I had to go to Google to find this thread cause I forgot to subscribe!

Anyway, we had our big ultrasound this week and we are having a BOY! We were really hoping for a girl, but have already fallen in love with the little guy. Ds is very excited to be getting a little brother!

He was scratching himself...so I put on his mitts til I could cut his nails while he slept that evening. He wasn't too happy with mommy.

well I thought I would have baby news by now.. I've tried just about everything..except castor oil..I really don't want the "runs" Everyday is a waiting game I suppose. There's a big snow storm heading our way tonight so watch tonight be the night. Oh well I"M READY!!! Have a good day Mommies!

Well everyone Emmaline is here! I had her on Thursday at 4:36pm after being admitted to the hospital at 12:30pm. The labor went very quickly (my first contraction came at 9am) and I was able to have her naturally. I credit the quick labor to the Hypnobabies program and listening to the CD's in labor, but it was not painless at all. I have no idea how I did it because boy did those contractions hurt at the end, but I did it. She was 7lbs 8 ozs and 19 inches long. Unfortunately, she did develop a some jaundice and is now on a Wallaby bili blanket. Nursing is going well and she seems to just know what to do. My mom is coming tomorrow to stay with us for 2 weeks to help. I never imagined this would be so much work. DH and I are so sleep deprived and taking care of this little baby is the HARDEST thing we have ever done.

Here's her picture from the hospital. I made the cross stitch blanket that she is laying on in the background.

I hope all is well with everyone, I will try to catch up on the thread, but at this point, it doesn't look like that day is coming soon.

I opened Mo's first savings account today! I'm so excited! Hubby and I have an ING account and I got one for Mo too. It draws interest so by time he is 18 and needs it, there will be plenty there. As soon as my paychecks start up again, I'm behind in insurance so I haven't received one yet, I'll start depositing them between the three accounts. Also with the extra money we're getting in June, I'm going to split that up between the accounts too!

Ok, I finally have a few minutes to share some pictures! I've been trying to keep up with reading- but don't always post because I don't have a free hand. Grayson is almost 2 weeks old and I am enjoying every minute of having him! I don't remember taking the time to cherish it when my other 2 were little. Honestly, he's such an easy baby, and I do get plenty of sleep- just maybe not always when normal people do!

The support we've gotten from friends and family has been amazing. We had several nights of meals brought to us, and plenty of visitors to keep us busy. Dh's office really surprised him last week with a very generous shower. He was really caught off guard! It's been a busy, yet absolutely amazing 13 days.

Friday, Grayson also had his 1 week well baby visit. He is up to 9 lbs 1 1/2 oz!! Mama's milk does a body good!! They also did his PKU test. Gosh, that was awful to watch- they just kept squeezing and squeezing that poor little heel, and he cried and cried!

Brand new....

Hi everyone looked for this thread when I was pregnant but couldn't find it. I knew I saw one awhile ago. So my baby girl is here and she is almost three weeks old. She doesn't sleep. Well she does during the day. She is a lot like my first. My second and third spoiled me they slept great. Congrats to all the new mommies.

Hi ladies! Just popping in real quick. Amanda is upstairs, taking a nap with Daddy! Which gives me a few minutes to myself! I hope everyone is doing well. I'll go back and catch up on posts a bit later, when more time permits. Wanted to share a find with you all though! Amanda and I ventured out to Babies R Us yesterday, and they have all of their winter clearance (clothing), an extra 30% off! I was able to get some awesome deals on a few things! Little Miss Amanda was a big 10 pounds yesterday when I weighed her! No wonder she's starting to outgrow all her newborn clothes! She's still very gassy, and wants to eat all the time. Hmmm... I'm starting to see the connection! Anyone else have a little piglet?

Denise, love the pictures of your trip to the park! I wish it was warm enough here, to take Amanda Joy on a walk.. it's freezing, and I hate the cold! I can't wait for the warmer weather!!!

Congrats Lisa!! I'm glad you'll have some help for a while. I agree, it is tiring! But it does get better...

Amy, I love the photo of Grayson sleeping with his hands under his head! Owen sleeps like that, too, sometimes, but I haven't been able to get a picture of it yet. I'm just dying to - they are so cute when they sleep like that!

HollyJoy, thanks for the heads up on the BRU clearance! I've been meaning to get down to our BRU this week, so now I've got even more incentive to go.

Owen is a skinny and long baby, but he's eating like a little piglet. DH calls him "Mr. Chow" (we have a chinese restaurant chain out here called "Mr. Chau's" so it's also a little play on words). But this kid is still a little string bean; I swear there's hardly an ounce of fat on him. He's getting too long for some of his 0-3 clothes, but they hang on him width-wise. Fortunately, I've got a bunch of onesie extenders, so those are starting to come in handy. And he has the most enormous feet! His toes are so long, they almost look like little fingers! Neither DH or I are tall - I'm under 5', and DH is just barely 5'10", so we're wondering where this long, skinny child came from!
