New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Amber & Lisa, I totally feel your pain. I do hope your labors start soon enough for y'all! I think the last month or so was pure torture for me!!!

Denise, nope my friends are both mostly caucasian (there is some Native American in them on both sides though). Understandable about the shots. I am not sure I could have handled that many at once myself. The three were bad enough for me :( Fortunately I won't have to do that for another two months! How was Mo feeling after them yesterday? Dom was fussy a little for about 24 hours, but nothing horrible.

Good news! I think I'm in labor. I've been having contractions 3-5 minutes apart for almost an hour now. I slept terribly last night and lost the mucous plug (TMI?) this morning. So it looks like today is probably the day. DH is on his way home from work. I'll be back in a few days.      :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Elaine, Mo did well til about 2:30/2:45. His shots were at 10:30 that morning. I was on my way to the sitter and I think it finally hit him! HEY! THAT HURTS! :headache: He would let out a few wails here and there and it broke mommy's heart! :sad1: I told Linda (the sitter) when I got there he needs loving today. I went to CVS to pick up some Tylenol Drops just in case and when I returned, Mo was in Linda's arms.....happy. :cloud9: Today he is back to normal! :cool1:

Do you know that little man WILL NOT let mommy sleep past 9:00 o'clock?!! He wants out of the bassinet no later than that! Right now he's in his crib...happy...talking...looking at the ceiling and his mobile as though nothing is wrong. AND....leaving mommy a present!! :lmao: :rotfl2: LOVE THAT LITTLE BOY!!!!! :cloud9:

That labor dust works every time! :rotfl:

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thanks for checking in and now get to work! Today is going to be SO exciting for you.

Yeah Lisa!!! Hope all is going well :cool1:

Well my Dr appt went as I excpected. She didn't like my weight (I put on 6 pounds in two weeks  ) but I'm not eating any more or any differently than I have been so I'm not sure what is going on. My belly is measuring one week ahead now. She thinks he is still head down but will know more when she does the GBS test(she will do an internal exam as well). If she still can't tell then she will send me for an u/s. She cleared me for travel to my shower this weekend.

I'm just starting to get impatient...I want to meet my little boy :lovestruc

Hi everyone! I am trying to catch up with everything. My dad passed away Monday before last and we just came back to town a few days ago. I have been tremendously stressed between grieving, taking care of my mom, and being nine months pregnant. I am just so thankful that I didn't go into labor while we were out of town at the funeral.

If I don't have the baby before next Wednesday, my doctor is planning to do an induction so she will be here no later than February 13th.

That's a lot for anyone to handle. Big hugs to you and I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi ladies! Wow, have we had a baby explosion on here, huh? :goodvibes Congratulations to all..

DH went back to work this week. It was great having him home for those first 2 weeks. But it's also nice for me to get back into my daily routine (well, as best as I can). There's a lot more planning involved now, but Amanda is such an easy baby. Let's just hope it lasts!

Anyway, I have had a request for more pics, so I thought I'd share this one with you.. I'll just consider it her 3 week old picture, since tomorrow will be the big day! :)

Me either, it says Page Not Found when I go to the link directly (Link from my email)

We had our 20 week u/s today. Baby is healthy but measuring big (80th percentile). No surprise there since my dd was big as well (and now she's on the smaller side...go figure).

Anyway, baby wasn't extremely cooperative and it took a while but we FINALLY got a money shot and we are having a BOY!!!

I can't wait till our list is back so it can be updated with my results. I'm so excited! I have guessed the gender correctly for both kids now and admit I'm kind of surprised that my intuition has been right both times.

DH and I finally got another peek at our beautiful babies! :yay: :yay: After having spent entirely too long fighting with my OB, stressing, losing sleep, etc, over the whole "not being sure it's two heartbeats" thing, we made arrangements and got an ultrasound. My OB might slap me on the wrist, but I couldn't care less. I would have given ANYTHING for the experience we got today, and she could have saved a lot of undue problems had she done this (or even, truthfully, less than this) a month ago.

It was quick - about 10 minutes - but .... as irrational as this fear might have been.... it was priceless to see that we do indeed have two babies (:rotfl: ) and they look perfect! Again, it was a very limited u/s (presentation, gender :rolleyes1 , fetal heart motion, placental location and LVP (amniotic fluid measurement).... but we saw two heads, 4 arms, 4 legs, and 2 beating hearts, all appropriate size. I am breathing easier (only metaphorically, unfortunately ;)) for the first time in about 10 weeks.

And no, we aren't sharing the gender results until our Level II. :duck: I have no real reason for this.... I'm not too concerned about it being wrong (although that is of course a possibility). I sort of just want to process it with my husband first, and nobody thought they'd be hearing for another 10 days anyway ;)

I hope you all are doing well! I'm off to find if our thread is one of the ones that made it back yet! :goodvibes

That is great new!!...it's a shame you had to worry this whole time. I wonder why they didn't do a quick u/s when they couldn't find 2 heartbeats anyway???.:confused they have to know that would only stress out the mother by telling her that.

can't wait to hear your big new!!

I had to go to Google to find this thread cause I forgot to subscribe!

Anyway, we had our big ultrasound this week and we are having a BOY! :goodvibes We were really hoping for a girl, but have already fallen in love with the little guy. Ds is very excited to be getting a little brother! :)

No kidding! They took solace in the fact that we had no reason to believe either were having trouble (we have seen them a few times, earlier in the pregnancy at the RE clinic), that I was measuring so big, etc. Still, it was stupid of her. That is why most multiples get a quick (seriously, just a few seconds) u/s to confirm heartbeats at least every other visit. I don't have a clue what my OB's deal is, but she is still the most highly recommended person I can find. Because of that, I have just succumbed to the fact that maybe most people aren't any better. Still, I'm a much happier girl today, and all of the aches, pains, etc that keep coming aren't remotely as concerning! :thumbsup2
