New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Alright ladies....I'm due in exactly 1 week! AHHHH! When is my little girl going to come???

Tomorrow I go to the doctor. I'm thinking about asking her to check me. I'm so curious to know if I'm dialating, yet I know it doesn't reallly matter. I'm still trying to be patient, but it's getting hard, KWIM?

Dh is getting so nervous. Poor guy. Money has been really tight for us and he is anxious about that and being a new dad and everything else.

Today, the breast pump I ordered is being delivered. I got an amazing deal and the insurance company is going to reimburse me $50 too. I got the Isis Duo for $110 after the reimbursement. I'm so excited because I am going to need to start working sooner than I thought. DH's employer won't let him work overtime anymore :(

For all the new moms, keep posting pictures of those cuties. It makes me feel so happy that my little one will be here soon!

hi mommies!! just checking in. nothing happening here. but there should be lots of news coming soon from this thread. can't wait:woohoo:

I'm so touched...Last night some of my girlfriends and I were going to go out to dinner w/o kids for a "girls night out". That's something we haven't done since before children. Well it turned out to be a surprise baby shower. I had told them before that I didn't want a shower so they knew this was the only way to get me to agree. It was very nice, just some of our family and my closest friends. Even my hubbie was involved. It was very nice of them and I feel very blessed to have such wonderful friends:cloud9:

Oh how fun and sweet of them. Do you know what your having? Sorry I can't remember from your previous posts...

Tink~ Any word on getting our list retrieved from the pit? I have one week to go and want to know who's ahead of me and who's coming up.

Amy- How are you doing? Still hanging in there w/ me?

Today was my 39 week appointment. The baby is doing good and she said that the baby's head is quite low (although I didn't have an internal exam). I talked to my midwife about when she is on call vs. the OB and if I go into labor next week during the day I will have her and also anytime after the 9th (OB is going on vacation). So say a little prayer this girl comes before the 9th. I would like to have the midwife there and if there is a complication, my OB, not some stranger OB. How awkward would it be if I had the OB from the office I left at 20 weeks...

I also got a freebie at my visit, an overnight bag and coupon for a free Olan Mills session for the baby. There was supposed to be formula too, but they took it out, since they know I don't want it. I really appreciated that they are taking my feelings into consideration. I would rather it go to someone who can use it.

Lisa...how exciting..is this your first?

How is everybody doing?
I'm 8 weeks and this is my third.
DD#2 just turned one and I just went back to work after a year of maternity leave. I work shift work and I am having a really hard time with the night shifts.
I can't believe how tired I am. I am also nauseated more than I was with my other two.
I have my first midwife appt. on Monday and I know she is going to come down on me about my weight. I am the same weight now as I was a year ago at 9 months pregnant. Yikes.

I had a neurologist appt. yesterday. Back in November I started having some problems with facial numbness. I wasn't pregnant at the time. My doctor sent me to a neurologist and I was scheduled for a MRI. The night I had my appt. I found out I was pregnant and I wasn't able to have the scan done. I have to wait until after baby is born.
Last week I had some issues with my face again so I saw the neurologist yesterday. He says that he has to be blunt with me and he says:
He can't tell anything without the MRI.
If it is MS then waiting until after baby is born isn't going to make much of a difference.
If it is a benign tumour then they will remove it after baby.
If it is a malignant tumour then it's going to kill me anyway. NICE!!
So he says to forget about it all for the next 7 months and go on with my life.

On the drive home (which I cried through) I thought that if I had known that there was something nasty going on inside my brain that we wouldn't have chosen to have another baby. I am counting my blessings even more now as this makes our little bubbles even more special.

The baby finally dropped a little and I feel so much more comfotable :cheer2:.
It's so nice to get a break from the nausea and be able to eat again. I lost 3 pounds in the past three weeks and I'm feeling a bit guilty about it.

I should be all ready for the baby to arrive by this weekend. I just have to finish packing my hospital bag, clean out the drawers where his clothes will go, and wash some pyjamas and sheets. I'm getting so excited, I can't wait to meet my little guy :hyper:

DH couldn't find the thread the other night so he didn't get to post. Anyway

Mother and Baby are doing well.

All is going pretty good. The last two days I've gottens sick after breast feeding. They think its my blood sugar going too low so now I get to drink a soda and was told to snack more through the day. Has anyone else had this?

We are hoping to go home tomorrow and I'll try and read back through the threads then. Hope everyone is doing good.

I posted this on the new Moms thread too looking for suggestions but here goes. I am pregnant with my 2nd child but they will be 7 1/2 years apart so things have changed alot as far as product choices. I am trying to decide on bottles and breast pumps. Any suggestions on what you have found that works well? I rented a breast pump from the hospital way back then but man it was painful everytime I pumped. Are there any better options now? I was reading about the Avent dual pump but don't know anyone with first hand experience. I used Avent bottles last time too but are there better options out there now? Thanks for some info.
