New "Mom's to Be" Thread!

Amy- Are they still talking about inducing you or is everything good now?

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? It seems I am up all night (sporadically), I can't get comfortable, get so hungry and find myself watching On Demand Free Movies at 4am. Today was "Look who's talking too" and now I'm onto the dog show on Animal Planet.

I like this new thread...short and quicker to load...I need to bookmark it!

At my appt. this week, my BP was good again, and no protien, so they're letting me hold off. I go to the Dr. on Thursday (39w4d) and they will let me schedule if I want to at that point. I just don't know anymore. I want to go on my own, yet I've gone from having a great pregnancy to being completely miserable in the last few days. I actually braved leaving the house last night so we could take the kids to the movies and I was nearly in tears- felt like I was having contractions, yet when I got home and laid down, they went away. And being asked *twice* how many I was having did not help AT ALL. :sad2:

Since I've been home, I just sleep on and off most of the day, but never for much of a stretch at once. I think this little guy has finally dropped, so I have to get up often to pee! As far as TV, this writer's strike sucks! We used to have so much on the DVR that we couldn't keep up with- would be nice to catch up in the middle of those sleepless nights. Now there's nothing to watch! We've been mostly watching home improvement shows and renting from Red Box.

You're right there with me date wise- are you getting induced/c-section or just ever-so-patiently waiting like me?

Go down to Rite Aide, and get some Castor Oil... ;) It tastes gross, but completely worth it! I was completely miserable, too.. had to do something since the Doctor's wouldn't help me out! The pressure 'down there' was almost unbearable, and forget about sleeping.. There were many days that I found myself in tears over how uncomfortable I was. I'd put on a brave face in public, then go home and cry.

Thanks, I think I might just do that! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one- I was just crying last night when I got home and couldn't even really explain why.

Both Dom and Amanda are absolutely gorgeous- I can't wait to share pictures on here! I think I'm going to have DH do a belly shot of me today, but I'm not going to even look at it until after I give birth. I'm afraid I'll cry! :rotfl:

I tried to post the other day and I couldn't find the thread. On Jan.17 I went in for my Dr.'s appointment and I was 4 cm. I was so excited. But since Kaitlyn was still up pretty high she just moved my c/s up to the 18 from the 21. Well once I got home and started packing up the kids my contractions started and they were 3 minutes apart. So off I was to the hospital. Kaitlyn Terese was born on 1-17-08 at 4:48 pm by c/s. She was 7lbs. 12 oz and 20 inches long. Not a bad size for about 2 weeks early. She is such an easy going baby I feel so blessed. Her feedings are already 4-5 hours apart so I am able to get some rest.. I will post pics soon. I just haven't had the time to upload them yet.

Because you are miserable, and anxious to meet that little one, all at the same time! I think it's harder when it's not your first, in certain ways.. everything inside has already been stretched out, so it stretches much more easily this time. Making things really unbearable! I really wanted to be induced because I liked the idea of that whole controlled situation. I was terrified of going into labor on my own. Wondered if I'd know when I needed to go to the hospital! Funny thing is, it's totally true what they say... YOU WILL KNOW WHEN TO GO! I had even talked to the doctor (your favorite, btw) around 11:30 that morning, and he had the nerve to tell me that I was experiencing Braxton Hicks (because they weren't regular). I was like, "Um, No I'm not. These are real contractions!" He actually told me that if I came to the hospital, he'd just send me home (he was on call). Guess I got the last laugh. So don't let anyone tell you how you're feeling.. You know best!

Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures.

At my doctor appointment this week I found out that I have progressed from 2 cm to 2 1/2 and have started thinning out. I'm still carrying pretty high though he has dropped some. I've had a couple of contractions here and there but they stop as soon as I lay down.

I also have not been sleeping well. I just can't get comfortable and when i finally do, I have to get up to go to the bathroom. I was so tired and over it the other day that I burst into tears at work. Luckily I have an office where I can shut the door so no one knew what was going on.

Nikki, congratulations!!!! I cannot wait to see pics of Kaitlyn!

 You too, huh? It's good to hear you're making progress, though! Even though everything I've read says it doesn't matter, I always feel better knowing I'm dialating/effacing!

Congratulations ntburns! :goodvibes I can't wait to see pictures, and I'm so glad you found us!

Ladies, this is from Webmaster Alex (obviously ;)):

It worked so well it surprised even us! We are still evaluating the experiment and what we want to do about it. We will bring the threads back in some form, I just don't want to throw them all back and slow the boards down again, it's kind of nice being able to read and post when you want!

When the old thread comes back, I think we should of course bring the list over, and - if we keep this smaller one - provide a link in case some people still can't find us! That being said, what do you all prefer -- to keep this one or "move" back there? I think my first thought is to keep this one, so long as everyone makes their way back, since we've found some new posters in our smaller home! :goodvibes

It really doesn't make a difference to me, and it might not even be an option if the thread comes back, as I'm assuming it will, either locked and/or for a short time only.

Thoughts?

Elaine and Holly - your babies are adorable!

ntburns - congrats! How are you doing?

I totally agree about the TV thing. After the Superbowl, we are turning in our DVR and dropping down our cable to the bottom of the barrel basic package.

I'm in the ever-so-patiently waiting category. At 36 weeks they did an internal with the GBS test and said I was a "fingertip" dialated. The GBS test was positive so they haven't checked since. I too have gotten very uncomfortable in the last week. We went to a couple of stores today and to lunch and it was just too much. I'm done. Other than going in for work stuff I'm staying home til the baby comes, well maybe I'll walk around the block or something, but nothing more. A week ago I strained my leg muscle and it's still quite painful. I hope it heals before I have the baby. I can barely lift my leg to put on my pants.

I like the new thread. It loads a lot quicker for me and is easier to navigate. Now if he brings back all the big threads and it bogs down the server, then it probably won't matter which thread we use.

I just hope we get the list back soon. There are moms to be to add and now a baby to announce.

Well here are 2 for now. I had the flash off in the first one so her eyes would stay open. Sorry it is fuzzy. Then it is a picture of my goofballs.

Nikki~~ She's beautiful! :thumbsup2

Elaine~~ Little man is precious! LOVE THE HAIR!!

Tink2020~~I think we should just remain here when the old thread pops back up. Take your list and copy it to Microsoft Word. That's what I did for situations like this! :rolleyes1

Amy~~Hang in there! Your little angel will be here before you know it!

Hi all!!!! I'm Jaime..I'm only about 8 weeks and this is my third baby. I'm right in the midst of feeling pukey and having low energy. I hate feeling this way b/c I love working out and I feel too sick to. Almost everything I eat gets regurgitated. Anyway,I hope to get to know you all better!

I actually think I'm going to save it in a PM. I had mentioned that the reason I didn't put it in word, is because I post from about 5 different computers in any given week. It would NEVER get updated if I had to come back to the same one. :rotfl: I thought about it though, and if I just PM myself it should always work. :thumbsup2
