New Member with some questions.

Hello Everyone

We are new members to SSR, we've booked for our first stay in Feb and we've got that under control. Questions are for next year.

Our UY is OCT 06, so I know I need to bank my 06 points by 3/31/06. If we want to book a 2 BR for next April (4/19/08-4/27/08. I don't think its Easter week but it is school vacation up here in Boston, we would be able to call for ressies 11 months prior to Oct 1-08 ?
My stepdaughter would want to bring a friend that is why we would need the 2 BR,but she is unsure of who and also if they would be able to go so we may not have a name when we make the ressie, and if she cannot find a friend we would only need a 1 bedroom.So can I add the 5th name later on the ressie or if needed change to a 1 bedroom as long as its avalable, without penalty?

We are not planning on purchasing the AP for our Feb visit but will for our 08 visit along with the DDE, are there any other perks with the AP and DDE?

Is there anything else maybe we are missing?

Hi and congrats! Soon this will be old hat but it is confusing to start.

The 11 month rule for reservations is 11 months from your date of check-out. Making reservations does not depend on you Use Year. If you want to book the entire trip in one call, the day to call would be May 27, 2007 (11 months from your check-out date) to book at your home resort. Since that is a Sunday (MS closed), you must wait until Monday, May 28 -- Memorial Day but I think MS is open. To book at other DVC resorts the date would be Sept. 27, 2007 (7 months).

If you change your plans prior to 31 days before check-in, there is no penalty However, any points you banked or borrowed to make the reservation stay in your current Use Year and will have to be used in that year. They can't be moved again. You also need to keep an eye on your banking deadlines for the current points. For an April trip with an October Use Year you are pretty safe since you have until the end of March to bank 100% of your points.

Yes you could "change" from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom. However, you are really cancelling a reservation and looking to book a new one and that's how you'll be treated. If there is a waitlist for the 1 bedroom, you will go to the bottom of that list.

At the time of the reservation, give the names you know are coming. You can decide whether it makes sense to include this girl or whether it's best to just call and add her (or someone else) once plans are firm.

Easter is March 28, 2008 so you're in luck. While it's true school vacations will keep WDW busy in April, it's not Premiere season in 2008 and you'll save some points! There's a start on your questions!

We stayed at the BC last April school vacation which was Easter break and although the BC is nice it was to crowded, I know it's busy everywhere during Easter, But SSR is much more spread out and I don't think would feel as crowded during busy times pus being able to walk to DDT is a huge plus, many dining options and activities.
This school vacation we are booked on Royal Caribbeans Freedom of the Seas which should be fun.

Does anyone know if there is a countdown calander you can hang on the wall for Disney, thats all our little one says everyday... We're going to Disney to Mick Park. She loves it there, a countdown calander would be a great idea. Maybe I should market that idea !!!!

This school vacation we are booked on Royal Caribbeans Freedom of the Seas which should be fun.

We went on the Freedom this past June on its second voyage. What a ship,,,the kids had a ball, food was great, rooms are nice....we had a family suite because we like the space...hence like DVC. Bring lots of money....shore excursions can break the bank....

Just a FYI, there are two types of 2 bedrooms. One is a lock-off which is a studio and 1 bedroom together. The other is a dedicated 2 bedroom, which has 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.
