New McKim's Mile House and ImaginAtrium Member Lounge >> NOW OPEN! 3/18/25 <<

No, but I’ve read quite a few comments in several Facebook groups lamenting the lack of sofas, padded benches, or other spaces for children to take naps. Comments like “Finally, somewhere in MK where my kids can take a nap” are then met with “Yeah, but there aren’t any sofas or benches. Very disappointed”.

People absolutely were/are using the (albeit larger) Disneyland lounge, with its big chairs, multiple sofas, and softer lighting as a midday napping spot, and several of the comments I read specifically referenced the DL lounge and using it for that purpose. It’s much cooler, darker, and quieter than the Epcot “greenhouse” (where you practically need to wear sunglasses indoors on some days).

I certainly don’t think anyone is going to station a rotating family member in the lounge, but it does sound like a growing number of people are definitely looking to use the newer lounges for longer in-park breaks.
Wow taking a nap.

In that case I’m glad there isn’t any sofas. The lounge is not meant for napping, well maybe a Power Nap of 10-15min.

I hope if the trend shows people frequently staying more than 1 hour then I hope Disney sets limit of maybe 30min per visit.

On the other hand if you are spending several thousands on park tickets and then wasting hours in the lounge it might not be bad for the rest of the park guests :-)

I was planning to bring a tent and sleep overnight in it, I'm very upset there is no camping spot.

Madness.

I caught my husband falling asleep... in the chair even though there was a sofa right there. I kicked his ankle.. and said WT are you doing wake up! I got the normal "I wasnt sleeping" response. Anyway I agree it's not a place for naps, you clearly have a hotel room nearby since you are DVC if you need a nap go back to the room.

Spent a little time here yesterday and I think it’s my favorite of the 3 lounges. Love that it’s in Frontierland and on the first floor. I was seated towards the back of the room by the drinks and snack station and, although maybe not the best view, I could still see the parade passing by through the windows. It is a very soundproof room though, you can’t hear anything and no music is piped in. And I don’t agree with a previous poster that it was too dark. For me, there’s enough natural light without it being the Epcot sun house. It’s also nicely decorated and more thematic than the other 2 lounges.

For those worrying about being let back in after using the bathrooms (which really are very close and not an issue), my sister came like 15mins after I was seated and had no issues walking right up to the front of the line to get in and told the CM her party was inside and was let in. I’m sure going to the bathrooms will be the same.

So if the waitlist is full, having MMB doesn’t matter. I didn’t realize that. Just an FYI.
Well, I mean, that makes sense.

I have no intention of buying MMB and realize that I'm not a lounge priority.

But I would be fuming if I was told I had a 30-minute wait and the waitlist is then closed,, but then at 29 minutes, I was told I'm not getting in at all because someone with MMB just took my spot.

I would assume that’s would be the name of the game. If a member without MMB gets on a waitlist and told approx 30min then at 29min a member with MMB arrives then that member get priority over the member without MMB. That could potentially lead to longer wait time for the member without MMB.

I think the answer is to have more lounges and/or bigger DVC lounges. Rather than to have odd limitations on lounge usage. DVC is marketing the perk of buying direct to the lounges for access.

I think if limits are created, they will involve the requirement you must be staying on your points during that visit and can’t be off property or just coming for the day. They clearly now have the technology to do that for the evening event at Epcot.

They don’t quote exact times I think specifically because MMB can jump the line.

why did people pay for MMB which allows you to jump ahead of people without it if you can’t actually jump ahead of people without it just bc the waitlist is full?

We never ended up getting into the lounge yesterday bc the waitlist stayed full. So how does that make me want to purchase MMB again? I couldn’t jump ahead like was listed in the benefits.

I honestly don’t care enough to say anything to DVC about it, but I find it weird that the benefit is getting to jump ahead of those without it but then I wasn’t able to.

It looks like their may already be an MMB field in our profiles, it just needs to be set up communicate that field when an MB is scanned, and they'd have all the info they need, except to verify phone number if there is a wait. But it will likely take time considering how many different systems use MB scans for different reasons....room charging, entry scans, those interactive statues, photo passes, and so forth.

I think it is that way. When we went in at EPCoT a couple days ago I scanned my MB and they mentioned to me that I was MMB+ or whatever it’s called and told me I could come back later that night for two character meet and greets if I were staying on property.

More and bigger lounges would be great. However, I think the more practical solution would be to expand existing hours of operation. DVC could implement this immediately.

The post I was replying to said that the waitlist had been closed. Therefore, the person without MMB would be completely kicked out of line if they allowed that. Seems to me that, since the lounges are a DVC perk, not strictly an MMB perk, that would create a problem.

I personally hope MMB fails, mostly because I disagree with the principal of the stupid lounge priority thing. Even if I did get kicked out of line in favor of someone with MMB, I still wouldn't buy MMB, because that would mean that the "class system" that MMB creates is even worse than I thought.

Well, it sounds like "jump ahead" and "kick out of line" are two different things to DVD. Thankfully.

You do get priority when a waitlist exists, but there are still limits on how many people they can put on a waitlist based on how busy it is.

Given we are in first week opening I can see why there were so many people who wanted it and why, even with MMB, you can get shut out if they have to close the waitlist.

Even if all those people were MMB, if it’s already unlikely all will get in, then it makes sense no one else is added

Plus, a waitlist, even priority, doesn’t mean your spot will open, which is why I think they don’t give a time because one may not ever even get called.

I admittedly haven’t read this entire thread but adding in another data point. We visited today - was told wait was over 5 hours without MMB and around 90 minutes with. We only ended up waiting 20 min.

I’m a fan of this lounge - I find the vibe relaxing. 😎

I'm not sure why the most throw-away of all benefits under MMB would be of that great importance to someone. The discounted tickets, BOGO one time use points, and free 30 days of Memory Maker are the reasons most logical people would purchase MMB. They all have cash value. The random chance to jump to the head of a waitlist (if there even is one, which for the other lounges there often isn't or it's very short) for what will be maybe a 20-minute visit to an otherwise free lounge has zero financial benefit versus the other MMB perks.

That's the absolute last reason I'd purchase MMB, particularly since we've been on a waitlist at a lounge exactly once in the last 7 years (out of dozens of visits).

I look at this whole waitlist priority as a meaningless throwaway "perk" that they just threw in to pad the list of benefits. It costs them nothing and saves the member nothing.

We will know more when the Spring Break weeks and Easter weeks subside and get into a more normal pattern... Right now this could just be busy park season and opening days excitement

but...

I wouldn't be surprised if they wondered/suspected/knew the MK lounge was too small for the capacity/typical attendance of the park. I have heard it is a comparable amount of seating at EPCOT vs. MK, but my understanding is that EPCOT has lower attendance... considerably... about 18 million at MK to around 12 million at EPCOT... https://aecom.com/wp-content/uploads/documents/reports/AECOM-Theme-Index-2023.pdf

Additionally, MK is a full day park with so much to do that a lounge to rest and reset makes a lot of sense... EPCOT doesn't really have enough to do in the same way... and much of what you do at EPCOT is sit around and eat... totally different...

so...

in that context, I wonder if the MMB+ was thought of as a nice way to generate some profit out of an undersized lounge...

I also would not underestimate the amount of people who want to buy DVC - especially direct over resale - to have access to the lounge... and if MMB+ is the way to guarantee access when they want it to the lounge, it quickly will be viewed as a necessary upgrade in the same way many people view Genie+ as a necessary upgrade.

I still have a very hard time believing that the lounge benefit was the driving factor behind the program over all the other benefits that have real value to owners.

I agree that this lounge will be more popular than Epcot and so having the ability to cut down on the wait is a nice perk.

Not saying that they didn’t realize it would come in handy for members with MMB at MK, but the other aspects of the program have to be what is selling it and not this extra piece.
