New McKim's Mile House and ImaginAtrium Member Lounge >> NOW OPEN! 3/18/25 <<

I can already see the people planning to always rotate a family member in the lounge so that they can go back in whenever they want….. then Disney will have to institute new rules and people will be mad…. people will do anything to abuse the honor system….
That’s why I hope they keep it simple. If you leave for whatever reason you need to get back in line.

Ugh, this puts me off massively. I avoid drinking liquids when on a theme park day in the UK due to needing to go for a pee frequently. In Orlando I don't have a choice but keep hydrated due to the heat, so I'd be in and out of there frequently. Sad face.
I feel your pain, my blood pressure meds seem to have reduced my bladder size to that of a thimble.

Because I'm sure people will want to pay MK admission prices to have a member of their party stay all day in the lounge, rather than enjoying the park as a group.
Yup. We've only hit the lounges if needing a quick break and we happen to be close by to pop in. 20-30 minutes seems to be about right. Any more than that and the family is itching to hit their next ride, see a character, etc. My DW is the chief of police when it comes to time management with focus being "what's next on our list".

I've been to disneyland so many times that I can see myself parked at the Tomorrowland lounge chatting up other DVC members for an hour 🤣

If they have discounted DVC direct AP’s?

This 100% will happen at some point in August…. I specifically said ROTATE a family member… not have the same person in the lounge the whole time.

This. It's supposed to be a place to stop off briefly to take a break on a busy day, not someplace to camp out in like an in-park extension of, or alternate to, your hotel room. Either use the restroom before you go in or wait until you leave. If you're in there long enough to need several restroom breaks, then you're probably at a point where you're on the verge of qualifying for residency.
this 100%. "camping out" or staying for multiple hours in the lounge just makes for a long wait for other members. Plus why?

Okay so I was SO HAPPY to use the lounge at DL for the bathroom, so happy I made a post about it. The soda and oreo was nice but having a clean, cool, empty bathroom was the selling point for me and had me singing the praises of my $58,000 purchase. What a bummer that there is no bathroom here.

So I am a little surprised (and disappointed) not to see any subtle nods or props relating to the shooting gallery. Or did I miss it?

I mean, it’s a lounge with free soda and potato chips. I think people are overthinking it. Nobody is gaming the system to always have a family member in there. This isn’t a problem in the Epcot lounge.

Likewise - heart problems since I was four and now I have the bladder that can handle half a Pepsi can!

I do completely understand the high turnover of guests using the lounge though. I'll use the bathroom before visiting!

No, but I’ve read quite a few comments in several Facebook groups lamenting the lack of sofas, padded benches, or other spaces for children to take naps. Comments like “Finally, somewhere in MK where my kids can take a nap” are then met with “Yeah, but there aren’t any sofas or benches. Very disappointed”.

People absolutely were/are using the (albeit larger) Disneyland lounge, with its big chairs, multiple sofas, and softer lighting as a midday napping spot, and several of the comments I read specifically referenced the DL lounge and using it for that purpose. It’s much cooler, darker, and quieter than the Epcot “greenhouse” (where you practically need to wear sunglasses indoors on some days).

I certainly don’t think anyone is going to station a rotating family member in the lounge, but it does sound like a growing number of people are definitely looking to use the newer lounges for longer in-park breaks.

I wonder how long it will take before DVC pulls back on letting everyone have free access to the snacks, and reverts to having a DVC employee go around with a basket periodically, offering A (notice the capitalization) snack. Until then, I wonder how many people, both adults and kids, will grab several snacks with the intention of having some for "later in case I get hungry".

I feel like the amount of money they spend on snacks wouldn't be worth the rage they would receive for implementing that.

I mean, these are people who plunked down $40,000 on direct points and whom Disney hopes will purchase more. Implementing this to save maybe a few (hundred?) dollars a year in potato chips would be absolutely ludicrous.

I agree. Going back to the old way now would make DVD (or is it DVC?) look petty.

It would have been cool if they'd kept just one of the old targets, if they had one that blended with the theme, and had it to go off like every 15 minutes, like it had been shot.

I agree it would be short-sighted. I'm sure more than one contract has been sold after a friend visited a lounge and the free snacks won them over.

But I bet there are some days they go through a few hundred dollars worth of snacks. And if they endured the wrath of killing the Magical Express, I bet they'd withstand people's outrage over losing some Lay's 😂
