Hi! I live in Newmarket. It's a small town. Schools are not that great at all. There are *many* houses up for sale where I live. As for town politics, lol... we recently had an audit done, and found out that one of the town officials stole thousands of dollars. They are still looking for him. It's been a fun year. If you want to move up this way, your better off in Exeter for schools, Brentwood, East Kingston, Kensington, and Stratham also go to the Exeter School system.
Well for the past few years the town has been trying to get a new high school built, but it has been shot down by the voters. We *need* a new high/junior school but they want to build this state of the art expensive school, and we can't afford that. So no school as of yet... I think soon the state will have to step in and settle this soon.
If you go here and type in Newmarket school in the search box it should give you all sorts of info. It is the Exeter News Letter. We are listed as a school in need of improvement or help. We have failed the yearly progress twice in a row, the first time I'm not sure what they do to help, the second time you are given the option to move your child to another school in the same district, I think? but it doesn't matter since there is no other school, if we fail again this year then the state will do something.
