New Magic Kingdom Welcome Show & Main Street Opening UPDATE: Page 15 - Post #281

We heard two announcements for the castle show ("in just five minutes" and "in just a few minutes") and at 8:45, they let us in to the 7DMT standby queue. By the time we got off, everyone else had already been let in and the line was long, as expected.

I don't think the new morning show affected our PPO "perks" in any way. If anything, the park felt less busy because everyone dispersed quickly."
I believe they were allowed into the Standby line. EMM loads through the FP line and would have priority loading at the vehicle.
Correct. They have always led the PPO folks in 7DMT at about 8:45, in the stand by line. The EMM guests use the FP line. By the time the non EMM guests get to the ride, it's 9:00 and any EMM folks will be let on before them, up till 9:00

I think I read this a few pages back, but are Photo Pass photographers out on Main Street and the Hub during this hour that Main Street is open early before the Welcome Show? TIA!

Okay, good. Thank you for clarifying!

Great information in this thread. MANY thanks to yulilin3 for the on the ground reporting. It is always better to go into a new experience / situation, way of doing things knowing what to expect!

As for the PPO ADR's, as some others have said, it is a meal reservation. The benefit of it, and reason for doing it should be for the meal before the park opens, and the opportunity to be at rope drop, with a full belly, and not have wasted prime park time to accomplish it. If you are making PPO ADR's for other reasons, well it might be time to re-evaluate. We often have breakfast at The Crystal Palace, for the atmosphere, and the food. I have enjoyed getting pictures in the park with no one else around, but that is not my main reason for having the breakfast.

As the new show begins at the castle, what time are they allowing guests up Main Street with an 8 AM park opening?

Merged you to the main Welcome Show thread. With an 8:00 opening, regular park guests will be allowed in before 7:00a.

When is the park opening at 8:00a?

Hi! TYIA ... I'm sure this is somewhere and I've tried to scan the 36 pages and yes the post just before this discusses 8am, but I asking about EMH ... If EMH on June 2nd is 8am, what time will I be able to go through the turnstiles and get on to Main Street? What time will the Welcome Show on Stage be? (7:45ish as before?) AND... On June 11th, for non-EMH opening, regular 9am opening what time could we get through the turnstiles and on to Main Street? Cheers!

On June 2, if you are onsite, you should be able to go through turnstiles by 7:45, if you are off-site, it will still be 8:00. But all of this could change by June, so stay tuned just to be sure. The Welcome Show will still be at 8:55 in front of the castle. There isn't a separate show for EMH guests.

On June 11, everyone goes in at 8:00 unless you have a PPO breakfast ADR, and then you you in at 7:45.

PERFECT!!! THANK YOU! We will be on-site! Cheers!

Is it safe to say that with the changes one doesn't necessarily need to reach as early to the park as before if trying to do rope drop? Given that the crowds which previously would have raced immediately onto their desired rides are now going to be dispersed on Main Street and its many diversions?

That's some wishful thinking!

People will now crowd to the rope nearest their first destination.

Ever RD TSMM? Kiliminjaro Safaris? It will be just like that. Rope droppers almost always have a goal in mind, and no amount of merchandise will make them take their eyes off the prize.

No. Those that want to get to the attractions immediately are going to be at the ropes into the respective lands. They aren't going to be in a store when the ropes drop.

Hmm...I have an 815 am BOG PPO ADR which I was planning on cancelling due to the new changes. We are not interested in 7DMT and plan to hit Peter Pan at RD.
Given that the crowds will still line up at the Fantasyland rope from park opening anyway I guess I should keep my ADR. Any thoughts?

So, if it says park opens at 9am does that mean main street opens at 8am and morning show will be at 8:40?

So if the park opens for EMH Guest at 8, you can get into Main Street at 7?
